Booked a week long stay with the family (2 young kids) and had a great stay in the Pine Cottage. Clean, quiet, and had everything we needed including wifi. I did not realize we would be so close to the water and literally had our own private view of the harbor -- fantastic for mornings and evenings. As for the location, Bass Harbor is a little off the beaten path, and the drive to Acadia is manageable, however it gets old after a while.

Beautiful views of Bass Bass Harbor, and ocean beyond the harbor. The quiet, expansive lawn, with walking paths through the wild flower field, is very relaxing! 👍

My girlfriend and I had placed a 5-night reservation with Bass Harbor Cottages. It was a spontaneous booking for a much needed vacation as we are both essential employees and have had a busy and exhausting few months. We were very grateful for some availability and put in our time-off immediately.

We were discussing the possibility of booking the other available room ‘The Boat House Loft’ so that my girlfriends parents could join us. However by the time we called the owner, Connie, to discuss this, the room had been booked. She then told us that if she didn’t hear from us by 3pm the same day she would cancel our existing booking. We then tried to call and email her multiple times with no success and eventually received an email at 3pm that she had cancelled our booking.

Note that we never had any intention of breaking her rules or requirements!

Connie tried to play it off as poor reception due to the location, however it was obvious that she was hanging up on our attempts to call and ignoring our emails. It was obvious that she had found someone willing to offer more money or a longer booking.

Our friends had a reservation here, and invited us to join their trip and book a room here as well. After seeing availability online, it said it's best to call them directly, so I did. The woman who answered the phone was very rude and basically told me I couldn't stay unless I booked for 3 nights and that there wasn't space for my reservation - even though I saw it online. I was frustrated (because the information online and over the phone was quite different), but was polite said ok and booked at another hotel. THEN my friends got a call from the same woman, on the same day and she told them she knew we were trying to book together and told them we couldn't stay in their room (which we actually NEVER even asked or wanted to...that's weird for couples trip in my opinion) and basically told them they should find another place to stay as well. So, in short, she kicked them out of their reservation just because I called and inquired about availability. This is NOT the way to treat polite, well intentioned guests. If this is how they act at booking, I don't even want to know how they treat paying guests.

The room was clean. That's the only nice thing I can say about the Bass Harbor Cottage. Too noisy and way to many rules to enjoy.
