Willy Street Co-op

Love love this place! I don’t have any ownership here, but after this trip, I will be getting one. The sales are great. I believe products are cheaper here than Whole Foods. I love their Hot Bar. Yesterday I got a delicious dish and went back to get more, it was out for the day and someone told me that recipes are on line. I was pretty excited. I did however get addicted to a honey bar even though I hate honey! That is why I was there 2 days in a row. Honey Mamas should be your new favorite bar too! Oh, and I seem to be addicted to their vegan pumpkin bread. Dense, full of flavor, just like your Grammas pumpkin bread is there all year round!
Staff are nice and place is very clean. Nice to see staff just straightening out products on the shelves.

Produce that last in your fridge longer than any other grocery
coporate store.
No gross, limp - mold prone produce.

They clean the coolers very well I should know I used work there.

Vast arrary of products, this store is filled from top to bottom. Every aisle is carefully planned to utilize optimal shelf space.
You need not be a member to shop here, and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
The outdoor seating area is relaxing and quaint. I loved their outdoor wood barrel floral plantings!

Willy street co op is a great place for the person who is health conscious and likes a down to earth atmosphere. I myself grabbed something out of the hot cart and something to drink. A little more pricey but the great service and hometown feel makes it a place I wouldn't mind frequenting.

This place is awesome! Staff are extremely helpful both in-store and at the corporate level. Love everything this grocery store stands for, and they provide a huge service to the community both financially and artistically.

I was in Madison and dropped into thWilly Co-op.
Clean and well organized. They had a wide selection of snacks and foods...manywhich I had never heard of. I spent $26 dollars and
Filled a bag....which I ate in 2 days. I will return when I am in Madison again

They have a great bulk spice selection, perfect for when you need some small amount of a some spice you won't otherwise use. They also have a great bulk food selection for things like oatmeal and rice, though you'll find that in other grocery stores as well.

I haven't been here in an extremely long time due to how insanely busy it is during the week & NEVER on the weekends. But I went later on in the day and really was kicking myself for not making a better effort to get in to take advantage of their superior selections of EVERYTHING.

But by far and above my favorite experience, this last time was when I met Susan, and she shared some of her expansive knowledge on functional medicine and healthy alternatives that Willy Street carried versus big pharma!! I had no idea that there were actual healthy options to address my ADHD?!? Unfortunately, our conversation was cut short due to her being called away to address something else over the loud speaker... I wish I knew her schedule to make sure I could pick her brain & have another excellent conversation with her again!!

Thank you, Susan... you are truly one of a kind!!💯 I'd include a picture of her here to highlight her so that Willy Street could see who they have that is not just meeting her employers expectations but blowing them away🤯 far and above what they expect from any of their employees!!! Again, thank you so very much Susan, you truly made my night! Hell, because I found out from her that there are options other than Adderall to address my ADHD... she truly made 2023 a better year for me🥳!! As anyone who might have this diagnosis... having a healthy option versus a prescription from Big Pharma... that's HUGE!!!

This is a great Co-Op grocery store I enjoy the selections in store and the friendly service I would recommend stopping in and also becoming an owner Shopping here could become addictive

This co-op is exceptionally clean and has quite the variety of foods and products. It is a smaller version of Whole Foods but not as expensive and with a smaller store feel. The staff is very friendly and willing to help.

Willy Street Co-op has grown with the times and kept a lot of its Nostalgia as well as adding convenience for Shoppers. The fresh food is well done using good ingredients. I really enjoy the salad bar which has things you don't normally see at a salad bar and the ingredients are organic. The staff is kind and helpful and the atmosphere is clean and well organized

Fantastic local grocer. You will not find consistently higher quality produce anywhere else. They focus on providing local and organic options. I appreciate the ability to support the smaller food economy. I also really enjoy the smaller store footprint — it’s easy to do a big grocery shop in 20 minutes without the overwhelm of a giant store. Becoming an owner-member is absolutely worth it, but not required to shop.

During our short trip to Madison we stopped here multiple times. Super unique products & options. Bakery, hot bar, groceries, grab & go prepared foods, etc. Super affordable and very friendly staff. We didn't need to be a member to shop.

The coop offers local products, fresh and local produce and meats. If you are visiting Madison you would want to make a stop there.
