The Thirsty Goat

This was really good food. My son and his GF brought us. We had cheese curds and burnt ends that was very good. I ordered the beer soup and Salad. Larry ordered the brisket, I forgot to take pictures before eating so the pics are more after eating. Either way, I recommend this restaurant. We were all very happy.

My wife and I are sharing our wedding anniversary and came to Madison to hang out and visit friends. Our hotel (the Wyndham) recommended Thirsty Goat.
When we got there, the atmosphere was friendly, down home and comfortable! The food smells filled the air, and we chose to sit on the patio.
Our server, Lexi needs a new word, because fantastic doesn’t fully describe her! She recommended food, drinks, laughed with us, took our pictures…and then messed up and told us that she made the “pineapple upside down cake”😎 We ordered desert to go but started eating before we left.
We ate at a table overlooking the pond, and ended the night sitting on the couch meeting new friends!
We had a ball, love this spot, will definitely recommend…and it’s our new go-to home away from home!
Oh…did I mention that the food was plentiful, sooo good and fresh??💕🎉

Stopped by for lunch on Sunday. We all ordered the broasted chicken and loved it! Crispy and full of great flavor! Sides included mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy, and side salads. All was excellent! I will go back as broasted chicken is hard to find in the Madison area.

First time here. What a great menu! We both had the four-piece broasted chicken and it was excellent! They do their own smoking. Lots of beer choices.

We ordered delivery and it was so so good. The pretzel was so fresh, the sweet potato fries were awesome, the ceasar salad was delicious, the corn bread blew our mind! We can’t wait to eat there again.

We were in town for WDE and stumbled upon this gem! Absolutely wonderful service from a friendly staff! The nachos were AMAZING! We visited twice during our trip! Both times the food was great, our drinks were top-notch and had the best service!

Stopped for late lunch/early dinner. Large selection of beer (pic is only 3 pages of 4) and mixed drinks and wine. Food menu selection to satisfy any appetite and portions are plenty. Got the slider mix which had chicken, pulled pork and brisket. Plus chips or fries. All were very good but saved the brisket for last which I like the best. Service was very good

So happy with the service I got! Donny was absolutely amazing he was so kind and so helpful! I hope he’s there for a long time. I will definitely be back.

Went here looking for something new. Service was good, attentive without being obtrusive. Food was superb. For appetizers we got the nachos (would recommend) cheese curds (standard fair) and the stuffed goat skins. while all were good, I was a bit disappointed in the stuffed goat skins. They were perfectly fine stuff potato skins...with maybe a crumble or two of goat cheese in each one. I expected a bit more of the goat cheese punch.

For food, I got the two mean combo, brisket and kielbasa. Both delicious. Wife got the burger, moist and juicy. My sister in law got the smokehouse tacos, very good, and surprisingly big.

House bbq sauce is delicious, chipotle is a probably on a spice level of the fire sauce from Taco bell

We sat on their deck, enjoyed the fresh air, had an amazing meal, and sampled from their excellent selection of beer. The service was fantastic too, so I can't recommend this place enough. I'm glad we finally tried it!

Loved this place! Food was amazing and beer selection was awesome. Staff was super nice and great atmosphere. Will definitely return every time I'm in town.

We dropped in for a late night bite to eat and a couple of drinks. The chicken soup was savory and delicious, just like grandmama used to make. Awesome craft cocktails too. Reasonable prices, a fun staff, and a very lively atmosphere.

Very few places I've been to around here have a beer selection on tap like The Thirsty Goat. Started with a Hacker-Pschorr Weiss, then a blueberry beer (which was also good)...next a Sprecher Dark beer, and finished it off with a Scottish Ale by Lake Louie (a fair alternative to the Sticky Mcdougal's since Ale Asylum is closing after 16 years).

A decent place for a date for Lisa and I, since we could dress casual and still get a great meal for a night out by ourselves.

We shared the cocktail shrimp and an order of buffalo wings with blue cheese. She got the grilled salmon for the main course, and I enjoyed the mashed potatoes and broasted chicken. Isn't bar food grand? Yummy. We sure love it. Especially at great dining spots like this one. Not too far from The Great Dane on Cahill.

Very comfortable vibes here. Semi sports bar but also serves well to sit down and dine. Food was excellent and filling. Had the fettuccine Alfredo and honestly there was more craft and care put into it that you'll find at most pure Italian restaurants.

Had a group of 6 people. Automatic 20% gratuity added. Our waitress had 3 large groups to wait on. The food was great, beverage was good and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Very busy and noisy on a Thurs. night.

Super chill atmosphere Great menu spread. Variety of beers. definitely will b back. Hillary day time bartender shout out. Wife and I had a great time

Sat at the bar for a business lunch and they had a brisket sandwich special that was ridiculously good. I left uncomfortably full after eating only half and ended up finishing off the 2nd half an hour later. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food came out quick but it was also mercifully dead when I went in so no idea what their wait times are during rushes.

Quiet outdoor seating & a spacious bar inside. Usually fairly busy without being overwhelming, anywhere between 2 & 8 pm. Brisket tacos & all smokehouse options have great flavor. The hot, house made, wing sauce is amazing.

Great beer selection, awesome smoke meats

Just moved my son in to his apartment down the road, had late dinner after a long day of unloading the truck!

People were very nice and food was great. I had the perch and thought it was outstanding. Everyone else said their meals we wonderful.

Will go back!
