Acadia Yurts & Wellness Center

Another successful trip (our third) to Acadia Yurts for my husband, pups, and me. It is great to have such a comfortable space that accommodates our dogs in such a perfect location. The yurts allow us to be close to nature without sacrificing the amenities we love- heat, a/c, hot water, among others! The location is close to our favorite dog friendly Acadia trails- Wonderland & Ship Harbor (both recommendations of the hosts, Karen & Aaron) and some great coffee shops- Milargo & Clark Point. They are also just a 10-minute drive to the Bass Harbor Lighthouse where you can catch a gorgeous sunrise!

Staying at the Acadia Yurts was one of the highlights of our trip to Acadia. The Yurts are spacious, clean, well designed, and came with literally everything we needed for our visit. The bed and couches were extremely comfortable. The yurts sit on a beautiful piece of forested property and made us feel very close to nature throughout our stay. We were even able to charge our EV overnight at an outdoor outlet on site.

Karen and Aaron were extremely responsive to our questions before and during our stay and went above and beyond to make our trip perfect. During the first night of our stay, a major storm knocked out power to most of the greater Acadia / Mount Desert Island region and by 7 am they already had emergency breakfast/coffee, and a generator running in their wellness center, allowing their guests to start their day without a hitch.

These Yurts are a no brainier if you are planning a trip to Acadia with a car. If you opportunity to book a Yurt here, consider yourself lucky!

Each time we have stayed at Acadia Yurts we have found the yurts to be extremely clean, well stocked with essentials and furnished so attractively. The grounds are so inviting and you have a good sense of privacy even though you there are other yurts and tiny houses around. Aaron and Karen are wonderful and their knowledge of the area is amazing. We feel that staying in the yurts was by far the best accommodations we have had over the many years of traveling. This past visit we brought our dog and he loved it. And there is no telling the difference between a pet friendly yurt and the other yurts. It was truly a most wonderful and memorable vacation.

Update (May 2023): As I mentioned in my earlier review, I have stayed at Acadia Yurts multiple times. It is a home away from home. My 5-star review remains and I'll add that there are a couple of new additions - (a) outside the yurt, you'll find wooden lawn chairs connected by a table, which is fantastic if you'd like sit outside and read a little; (b) microwaves have been added due to feedback from guests. Personally, I've never needed to use one during my stay, but it is convenient to have one should you need it.

Aaron & Karen are always super helpful, including recommending the Clark Point Cafe. Delicious breakfast!

My first stay at Acadia Yurts was in 2019 and I fell in love with the quiet-side of the island. I’ve returned every year since then. If you want to unwind with a good book after a long day of hiking, this is the place to do it. Karen and Aaron are fantastic hosts.

We have stayed at Acadia Yurts twice and plan to go back again! Such a relaxing setting, great for kids, the right amount of space, and a kitchen have made Acadia Yurts our favorite place to stay in the area. We can't wait for our next trip!

I have been to Mount Dessert/Bar Harbor several years ago but in my own personal motorhome. I must say, staying in a Yurt for the first time (and not my last) far exceeded my expectations, this is glamping at its best!! From the accommodations, amenities, cleanliness, serene location, close to hiking and everything that Acadia Wellness and MDI has to offer. I recently moved to the mid-west but being "home" with all my closest girlfriends in this wonderful relaxing atmosphere was just perfect. Thank you to Karen and Aaron for your hospitality and making us all feel welcomed. All my best and hope to see you again!

Our Yurt glampcation was an experience we will never forget! Karen & Aaron are exceptional at what they do and made our stay super comfortable. We stayed in a beautiful yurt surrounded by nature and welcoming vibes. I am 28 & use a walker to get around and felt extremely comfortable the entire time. Be sure to check out their Wellness Center! The float tank was amazing! We love you guys, thanks for everything!

This tiny house getaway was really what my friend and I needed. We stayed in the Precipice House and it completely exceeded our expectations. The house itself was adorable and had everything we could possibly think of needing while away from home. I loved how the yurts and houses were spaced out, so it really did feel like you had your own space, while not feeling completely alone in the woods. Aaron and Karen were the best! They checked in with us after our first night and even texted us before and after our stay. They truly put their own personal touches on the place, which you can tell. They even had a book of recommendations (restaurants, shops, hikes, etc) which we found super helpful! Overall, I highly recommend Acadia Yurts!

We found Acadia yurts to be the perfect getaway. We stayed in one of the tiny houses which was perfect for two of us. It had every amenity we could need in a clean, thoughtfully laid out space. The vaulted ceilings gave the feeling of a much bigger place. Even at 6'5", my husband found the space totally comfortable. The grounds were well light, clean and very quiet. The owners were extremely welcoming and a pleasure to deal with!

Acadia yurts is quality from the moment you arrive. It was spotless. The beds were comfortable. The heater and a AC unit assured our comfort throughout our stay. It was easy to find and away from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor, yet close enough to be convenient . The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great experience and will definitely return .

Acadia Yurts had always been on our bucket list. This was the year and during The pandemic was perfect timing. The experience turned out better than we had anticipated. Cadillac Mtn Yurt had everything we needed! Aaron & Karen were the best ever with customer service and we felt very welcomed. We especially loved the skylight to see the great outdoors. A very cozy cool place!

This is such a beautiful and magical place to stay! My family has stayed at Acadia Yurts twice and both visits have been perfect. The yurts are clean, decorated perfectly, and have every amenity one would need. My family doesn't love camping, but we do love glamping and Acadia Yurts is our favorite spot. We can't wait to go back! Fun for the whole family.

Everything about our stay was wonderful. The Yurts were extremely clean, comfortable, and all the amenities were perfect. The grounds of Acadia Yurts were lovely and convenient. Absolutely recommend staying at Acadia Yurts whether you are from away, or from Maine. We were so thrilled to be able to come and stay in June 2020 with our little family and have a stay-cation here in our beautiful state. Aaron and Karen have such a beautiful place, they were so thoughtful in all the touches & details in and out of the yurts. SO CLEAN. We created great memories with our children's first glamping trip. Acadia National Park and Downtown BH are a short ways away, and the coffee shop down the road was spectacular too. Enjoyed our french press coffee in the mornings in the yurt listening to the rain - so therapeutic. Looking forward to coming back for a relaxing time and taking advantage of the Wellness Center!

What a fantastic unique way to see Acadia! The staff were very accommodating - let us use their lobster pot for our own lobster boil! - while still doing a great job of contactless / social distancing. Our yurt was comfortable and perfect. It was great staying outside of bar harbor but still close enough to the park.

It was our second stay with Acadia yurts and both times we are blown away at how amazing our vacation is. Not only is the yurts a perfect getaway, they are clean and have everything you need to relax but the customer service of Aaron and Karen are excellent. We can’t thank you enough for the opportunity and the perfect escape. Already planning out next year!

Acadia Yurts & Wellness Center is a little slice of heaven nestled in the woods of Acadia National Park. Aaron & Karen are some of the warmest welcoming people. Their vision is an absolute treat. We were honored to have a “staycation” in the area that we live. We have never had to opportunity to “vacate” where we live. Very grateful for this restful experience, would love to stay in the future.

Don’t forget to check out their wellness center for an incredibly therapeutic trip. The center is stunning. The float tank & sauna are top of the line with even better rates. Karen also offers massage & yoga classes.

LOVE this place so much! My husband and I try to stay at Acadia Yurts whenever we come up to the island. Such a unique and peaceful experience, and close to all the quiet side activities! So much love for Karen and Aaron and what they’ve created! And we’re very excited to take advantage of the wellness center (yoga, sauna, CBD massages, float tank) next time we visit!

We spent a long weekend in the Beehive tiny house and had a lovely time. The property is very well maintained - from details to the walkway lighting to help light the way at night, to the fresh mint growing near the amenity barn, the whole weekend was just charming. This place will give you the full camping experience without the added headache of remembering to load every possible supply in your car (think tent, bedding, grilling tools, coolers, dishware, chairs, cookers, games, towels, etc. etc!).

Conveniently located minutes to Acadia National Park, the grounds are a welcomed respite away from tourists -- and COVID -- after a day of hiking, biking, or exploring downtown. We ended up spending more time at the tiny house than we thought we would, as it was so comfortable and had everything we needed right there. The back deck nestled in the woods was a perfect setting to enjoy some local beers we picked up from Atlantic Brewing and a game of cards. Don't forget bug spray and/or citronella candles!

The owners were so accommodating and really thought of everything. Though we had everything we needed, I would have felt comfortable reaching out should anything have come up. Thanks again Karen and Aaron, we hope to be back!

Thoughtful design and enviromentally conscious. We had a relaxing time and were happy to bring our dog with us. Karen and Aaron gave lots of great suggestions in their guest book for places to visit. The yurts were in a quiet and secluded setting, which provided lots of time to recharge, read books, and enjoy nature. I would definitely go back. It was an ideal time, during this pandemic, to experience something new in a familiar coastal setting.
