Nice and simple walk, beautiful views, blueberries and a little history! What more could you ask for? Took the kids up and they loved the walk. By a happy accident they were doing a free blueberry pick that day and there was a very nice lady at the time happy to share a little history of this marvelous spot.

Beautiful and easy hike to historic stone building. Was lucky the hut was open and got to go inside after many hikes. There are two ways up one is easy and one is more challenging since it is up hill in wooded area (buggy).

Excellent views, well groomed trail. The hike up the hill is moderately steep. Plenty of places to stop along the way. Porta potty at the top. Limited parking in the lot. Ambiguous rules on the street with a few signs that prohibit street parking, but not everywhere!

In late fall of 2019, we made a pitstop here on our way up the coast to stretch our legs after a wonderful lunch at the Home Kitchen Cafe in Rockland. I'm so glad we did. Despite it being an overcast, damp fall day, it was a gorgeous hike. It was an easy uphill hike from the trailhead, and the reds, yellows, and frosted purples along the way were so lovely. We were greeted at the top by the best colorscape of our entire trip, as well as foggy views of the harbor. It truly felt as though we were in a Wyeth painting. The best part was we only saw a few other people and felt like we had the entire place to ourselves.

Great spot for a short hike on very well maintained Pebble Stone paths up through wild & active blueberry fields far & wide.

Amazing panoramic views of Lake Chickawake & Eastern Penobscot Bay & Islands incl. North Haven, Curtis & Mussel Ridge Islands & Owls Head and the local mountains of Rockland, Camden, Rockport & Hope incl. Dodges, Pleasant, Spruce, Ragged & Bald Mtns. as well as Camden Hills State Park in the far distance.

A great place to hike and during the season, you can pick Blueberries for free.

Incredible views of Chickawaukie pond and the Penobscot bay from the top of the hill. The walk up is languid and easy, and very suitable for small children.

I discovered this spot last year and I absolutely love it here. It’s an easy enough hike for kiddos with great views. It would be a great spot for a picnic as well as photos. It’s also just a great spot to relax and think.

A fairly easy hike, less than a mile, to the hut. Great place to take the kids on a picnic. Jaw dropping view.
There are events at the hut occasionally. Check the schedule.

One of my favorite hikes. There are two places to park and hike from. The one on Beech Hill road has a very clear and graveled path to the top of the hill. The one on Rockville street is a bit more rustic and has some roots. Great trail to do with littles especially in the fall when you can sign up for the You Pick Your Own Blueberries. Benches along the hike are great for beginner hikers or those who need to take it slow. Welcomes pups on leash as well. All in all a great trail. You could do a rugged stroller but I suggest a baby carrier for those kiddos not walking yet.

Wow!!!! Such a beautiful place to visit. Hike is uphill the whole way but not steep and doesn't take more than 15 minutes or so. Totally worth it.

This place is amazing. The grounds are clean grounds; wide open spaces; plenty of walking paths from different streets to park and walk to the top of the preserve where the views pay off.

This place was falling apart when I was a child growing up in Rockport. Beech Hill has always had that windswept, lonely feeling that one can find in a Wyeth painting. It was built by Hand Heistadt, who also build the amphitheatre in Camden. Sit quietly and listen, Beech Hill is a very magical place, and the spirits there will touch your soul in a pleasant and unforgettable way.
