Camp Wolverine is a part of the Owasippe Scout Reservation. It has 25 camping sites with flush toilets and showers. Many of the campsites are on the lake front. The lake is home to many species of fish and turtles. Heron and swans live here. A pair of loons call the lake their home too. It's not uncommon to watch a bald eagle catch a fish. The deer walk along the shoreline not worried NY your presence. The lake is wonderful for kayaking, canoeing and fishing. No gas motors allowed, only trolling. The Scouts and leaders that spend a week or two here call it home! It is truly a piece of heaven. ❤

Police hunting and fishing club member. Former LIFE scout and Owasippe attendee from '67-'69. Owasippe is a great location for young scouts to learn and earn. The hot pack meals were hot and plentiful. I spent a few days fishing in 2021. The fishing is awesome now with catch and release only for Largemouth Bass. The lake water is pristine with no gasoline motors ever since 1911. The lake is private, the non-scout public is strictly prohibited, and patrolled regularly. If caught, vehicle and gear will be confiscated, and you will go to jail.

Excellent Scout camp for the boys and girls. They can work on needed merit badges. Nightly evening events.

It's a nice Camp. Unfortunately, next to Camp Blackhawk, Camp Wolverine is somewhat "neglected"... it's sad to see how run down some of the facilities are. The trails for the Scouts need to be maked better and some of the activities are spread too far apart: ATV, Horsemanship... which makes it very hard for Scouts to be on time for their activities, without being driven by the ASM/SM when there is no bus service available. Overall the staff is very nice and tries to make it a pleasant experience with the resources they have available.
[The "nutitional value" of some of the meals might be something that should be considered when creating a "meal plan"... would be nice to have some HEALTHIER OPTIONS... and I'm not talking about food allergies... just healthier snacks besides every morning's apples and oranges , and every lunch's ICEBERG LETTUCE . Your intestines certainly need a reset after coming back home from camp.]
The campsites are beautiful, cause what's not beautiful about spending a whole week in NATURE... some of the "logistics kinks" need to be worked out! Maybe it could be resolved with more people stepping up to the plate and volunteering!!!
