The cutest fabric and fiber arts shop on Main Street in Beacon NY! Friendly, helpful staff. Gorgeous designer fabrics and yarns. Plenty of notions and gifts. A variety of sewing, knitting, crocheting, and Sashiko stitching classes.

What a gem! They have an excellent selection of quilting materials and much more. They have super quick shipping as well. Can’t wait to go back and see what’s new. They also have the most lovely staff.

Little footprint but lots of inventory. Small (but nice, and reasonably priced) selection of yarns, some cross stitch/embroidery, and some lovely fabrics. I especially liked the selection of size inclusive garment patterns in the back. The shop attendant was very friendly and helpful. Thanks!

One of the best fabric/ quilt stores in the area. Always stocked with amazing fabrics and designs for their customers, and even has a sale section which is appreciated for a niche small store. The staff is friendly and helpful. They are also very aware of COVID policies and helpful with curbside pick up and having orders ready promptly.

In a time when we are surrounded by giant chain retailers and automated, fast fashion, places like Beetle and Fred are a true gem.

I stumbled upon this shop after doing a little research looking for local yarn shops after moving to the Hudson Valley. I didn't know what to expect, because I've been to some small yarn shops that were not all that friendly or inviting.

The shop is conveniently located right on Main Street, Beacon. It's a great area to talk a walk around, especially on the weekends (Farmer's and Flea Markets on Sundays!). Parking is ample, even on weekends.

I've always been greeted warmly at Beetle and Fred. The staff is always so friendly and offer great advice and recommendations. I never really did much sewing before visiting, but the shop offers an amazing selection of top quality fabrics at fantastic price points.

Can you get cheaper fabrics and yarn, etc? Sure, go to any giant chain retailer. But will it be of the same quality and design? With phenomenal service to back it up? Absolutely not.

They also offer some noteworthy local classes and workshops - be sure to check their website for a schedule of upcoming events!

Beetle and Fred is always a stop when I'm in the area - even if I walk out of there with nothing, it's always a pleasant visit. Whether you're interested in learning a new hobby, or a seasoned veteran, I would give them a 5/5. I would definitely recommend to both beginner and experienced fiber crafters alike.

Love this shop! We visit any time we are in the area and the owner is a treat. I love seeing what new craft kits they get in and have purchased beautiful yarn and fabric for my projects. Highly recommend a visit if you're in Beacon and like fiber arts!

I stopped in while on a trip on Monday and they have a beautiful collection of fabrics. I found some Tula Pink prints that I hadn't seen in person yet. I went to check out the yarn that they carried, but ended up picking up fabric and notions too. First time shopping there, but it won't be the last!

If you are going through Beacon, I can not recommend this place enough!!!! The owner is so friendly, funny, and helpful. The store is obviously thoughtfully curated and jam packed with color and local products. I found the most fabulous and vibrant DK weight yarn for my next project as well as a store I hope to visit again soon.

This is far and away one of the best fabric stores I have every been in. The service was knowledgeable, friendly, and encouraging. I traveled there for a sewing retreat and would willing plan a trip back just to enjoy this gem of a shop in this adorable town. The owner is a peach and helped me find everything I needed for my project. I can not recommend this store highly enough. I live in Virginia and make a point of ordering online from them so that I can continue to support and patronize them. 10 out of 10 would shop again.

Excellent all around quilt/yarn/embroidery store. I have loved Katie's place since she opened. She has a wide variety of fabrics with a concentration on the more modern. She has an amazing array of knits and dressmaking fabrics and some incredible teachers (including Katie herself.) Amazing place, can't wait to get back!

Cute place! The woman who helped me was incredibly friendly and seemed genuinely interested in my projects, and showed me some of hers. She gave me some quilting patterns when I expressed interest in trying it out. They carry unique books, and beautiful yarn and fabric. I will definitely be going back.

I live about an hour from Beacon and I am a beginner sewer. I first heard about Beetle & Fred from a YouTube vlogger about a week ago. My husband brought me up here today to have a look and we were both amazed by how nice the store is, and they have such a beautiful selection of fabrics. I wanted to buy so much! But I controlled myself, picked out a fabric and bought a few yards.The sales ladies were so kind and helpful. The store is small and intimate but there was a lot to look at. I highly recommend coming here for fabric. They also had a lot of beautiful yarns and knitting and crochet supplies. I'm sure there are other things as well (they also have sewing classes) but I was overwhelmed trying to pick a fabric. I am looking forward to returning!

A wonderful shop! Located on the hip and bustling Main Street, Beetle and Fred is exactly what I would expect from a local, female-owned business. Everything about the place is welcoming--friendly staff, bright colors, every question answered with a smile. They only sell quality materials, so you know you are getting the best (if you are looking for low, low prices hit the big box stores--you get what you pay for every time.) I've also taken many classes at the shop and have learned so much from the instructors. The classes are laid back, fun, and filled me with the confidence to try new things on my own. I've also met so many incredible people and just have a blast every time. 5+ stars. I found my home at Beetle and Fred.

This shop is amazing. The classes are well run, fabric is unique, and service is friendly and knowledgeable. I have been encouraged to try new things and stretch my abilities. My kids know we can walk by without going in.

Wonderful shop! The owner is wonderfully collaborative with fabric selection and helpful advice + encouragement on projects. They have kept me going and well supplied with local delivery during the pandemic. I can't say enough lovely things about Beetle & Fred. <3
