Original Moxie has been a lifesaver for my family. I have bi-ethnic children and in 2020 I realized I needed help with their hair. As there was a pandemic going on, they were not offering children's appointments at that time. The owner, Rachel, assessed their hair via pictures and recommended products. Since then, my kiddos have been in the salon, had assessments done and even received some treatments. Each interaction I have had has been wonderful. I also love that their products are very organic and "small business made".

Came for a cut for my toddler with curly hair. It was a wonderful experience, and Janelle made my daughter feel comfortable and right at home. I appreciated her expertise and education, and look forward to returning when it's time for another trim! Very reasonably priced for expert service.

Ebonni always does a fantastic job with my moxie cut and moisture detox. My curls are always so bouncy and full of life after she does them! It’s been a few weeks and they are still so amazing! The products they use hair have definitely brought life to my hair!

I have had multiple haircuts at Moxie and I have loved them all. They really know how to shape curly hair. Lamani did my hair the last time and did a scalp treatment that relieved my itchy scalp better than anything else I've ever tried. I also love their products. I brought my 3 year old daughter there for a tutorial and Rita was incredible. She made my daughter feel safe and comfortable. I'll never forget getting home and her telling me "my curly hair is beautiful!"

After my previous stylist canceled on me day-of, I was frantically searching the area for anyone who could see me in less than two weeks (for a big trip). Everyone was booked at least a month out, but Janelle emailed me back the same day and was able to get me in the following week with LaMani for a color correction and cut.

LaMani was so knowledgeable and friendly, and she really took the time to assess my hair and see what it needed. She even tested dyes and products on individual curls to see what would work best. She then color corrected, washed, styled and cut my hair. My hair was previously purple, and the color had faded out to blue, green and even white in some areas. It was a mess. LaMani got it all back to my natural color and made sure I was totally satisfied with the end result.

I am from out of town, I’m here for a wedding. I called many places ahead of time (1 week) that did not do updos or were not open. My boyfriend actually found this place, we called and I made an appointment. I had the pleasure of being Gloria’s client. She is very professional, sweet and does an amazing job. I really love the way my hair turned out. Her daughter does make up here as well. Kinda wish I had made an appt for that also. Lol

This is my second time going and both times were amazing. My stylist Kyanna is an absolute 10/10 stylist and person. She always checks in during each step to make sure I like my hair. She is very gentle and focused when it comes to doing my hair which I love. I would definitely recommend this salon to anyone; especially for people with curly hair. 5/5 experience.

The best cut I have ever had! LaMani was incredible. I normally hate getting my hair cut… even curly cuts from other salons have been disappointing. I wanted to go short, but didn’t know it would look good. LaMani listened to what I needed and made it happen. I took off almost a foot of hair and have absolutely no regrets! My hair is light, bouncy and styled exactly how I need with my little to no styling routine. You will pay a good amount for this haircut but it is 100% worth it.

This place is really something special.
1) The salon is cozy and comfortable, but still classy and spa-like. The staff and stylists are professional and warm - they want you to have the best treatments for your own hair, and they give you specific tips and easy instructions to replicate the look on your own. The free hair assessment is such a great idea and I really appreciated the time they took with me.
2) The products!!! Made in-house with natural, organic ingredients. They work like a charm! And while the prices are a little higher than we might be used to, they are potent, so a bottle often lasts a long while. You can buy sample sizes to try before you buy the full size version, which really appeals to me. You can easily find what works for you. These products will not join your graveyard of moisturizing and styling products that let you down, but you keep them around because you haven't found anything better. We ALL have them...
They also smell great, and did I mention THEY WORK?

I came in for the first time about a month or so ago and I was really impressed. I haven't been to a salon in years and it was nice going somewhere and having people do my hair that knows how curly hair behaves. I didn't have to explain too much to Emma and the products are great. I can never wear a wash and go usually because my hair dries out and tangles right away, but their products have kept my hair moisturized for most of the week. I purchased some to use at home and so far have still been getting good results. Emma also cut and shaped my hair, as I had never had my hair shaped prior to the visit, and it feels so much stronger and full. 10/10 would recommend.

If you have curly hair(regardless of race or ethnicity) and would like to maintain its beauty and health, this is the salon for you. All of the stylist are great. I've had great cuts by Carmen. Ebony is very talented and versatile. She has done my Wash n Gos, cuts and protective styles. The owner, Rachel and staff are as personable as they are professional. Unlike other salons I have experienced, you do not have to wait around forever for your turn in the chair. The salon is also clean and welcoming. I highly recommend you try this place out.

Love this salon and their hair products! If you go there, you're likely to find out from some very knowledgeable people which of their products will work for you. The products and services are certainly an investment, but they are worth it compared to cheaper ones that may not work as well.

I got my first treatment at the salon a couple of weeks ago--a protein treatment called the Damage Detox--and it gave my hair bounce and sheen like never before. My wash and go (normally lasts 3-4 days) lasted 7 days and felt so soft! I was surprised that I was touching my own hair. I have very coily/kinky hair, but they seem to have products/services for just about any hair type. Will definitely visit again.

This salon is a godsend for curly hair. I've been a tightly curled natural for about 3 years and have basically be winging it all along. I've tried to find stylists to style my natural hair care to no avail. I've worn chemical straighteners for most of my life because I was told as a child that my hair was "bad". Over the last 2 years I've had hairstylists refuse to do my hair, or get frustrated and tell me that my hair wasn't "normal" and that I should consider using something to loosen my curl pattern. These words can be so discouraging to those of us who are just getting to know our natural hair. I found Original Moxie salon with a Google search and made an appt with Kyanna. She taught me so much about my hair on my first appointment. I learned porosity, strand thickness, curl diameter, and also how to care properly style and care for my hair. She educated me on the products offered at the salon and how to use them. This salon is more than about styling the hair, they also educate you. The original moxie products offered are so clean, so aromatic, so nourishing, and very long lasting. The gel combination that I used lasts in my hair for days without fizzing or feeling crunchy. I used to hate going to hair salons, however I find this place to be more like a hair spa that I actually WANT to go to. I am so thankful to have found this salon.

Definitely recommend the hair products, detox, and cut. As someone who has curly hair and values ingredients that are good for planet + body, these work!

The staff (Breon, Emma--specifically) was extremely friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. The owner was in the shop when I went in for my free assessment and was very welcoming. I went back for a detox and cut and it turned out great. My hair feels healthy and happy!
