The Icon Restaurant

Wonderful food, all separate tastes. Shared 10 different dishes amongat 6 people, including paella. Service was great. Flat bread was fun...and actually rolled.

We had dinner there last Thursday. Its in a such a wonderful location....right on State Street across from the Overture Center. The atmosphere is beautiful, kind of modern decor with pictures of movie stars on the walls. The music was 1940s and 50s crooners and Big band. Wonderful! We had the Thursday night special which was Paella. It was made for 2 and came with our choice of a bottle of wine. The food was fantastic. I would have loved the Tapas but the special was perfect (I will just have to go back). Its a perfect location for those going to see a show. Thank you for such a fantastic evening!

If you want wine, cocktails, and some yummy tapas, this is the place. I love small plates, because you can try lots of different things. Excellent wine selection, but the last time I went I had a cocktail and watched the world go by out the window. They have outdoor seating on the sidewalk as well, but it was far too hot when we went, and we were glad to get into the AC.

Right in the heart of downtown, across from the Overture Center, and on the same block as the Orpheum, so it can get quite crowded, especially if there is a show at either theater. But on other nights it can be quiet and a great place to actually have a conversation with a friend, especially for happy hour. Even when it is crowded, it's not loud and hard to talk, a nice change from many restaurants and bars.

Beautiful upscale restaurant. The staff was very attentive. The meats were incredibly moist. The fried foods were very crisp. Lastly, the wine selection was accommodating. It's a great 'try a little bit of everything' restaurant to go to with a large group. Normally, you don't think of such a classy place when you think of tapas!

We had the Garlic Shrimp and Cocas and they were delicious. Our Bartender very friendly and offered to make us some special drinks with elderflower and it was amazing. Our waitress was also very attentive and look forward to our next trip there!

The new bar manager, Marcus, is amazing! He made up drinks for us based on flavors we enjoy. His tropical long islands are the best! Everyone should check out this bar on State St.

the Food was amazing. Baked goat cheese and stuffed flatbread highly recommended. Paella was also incredible. Ellen, our server was helpful and informative and downright nice.

My family and I have long searched for a good place for Tapas in Madison - The Icon exceeded all of our expectations. The menu was large, the food was delicious, and the service was wonderful. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who would like to have a delectable meal in a comfortable, cool atmosphere.

Icon is a good spot to stop for a drink after a show. I really enjoyed meeting the bartender Jake. He was knowledgeable about wine and suggested some great cocktails. He made our evening very fun! Thanks Jake.

So my friends and I came to The Icon tonight and had a PHENOMENAL experience. Lemme tell you about it: so we didn’t know what to get and the Bartender made a Jalepeño/pineapple shot and it ROCKED MY WORLD (totally recommend). We had a couple more infused shots and just an overall amazing experience here. I recommend you all come and get the infused shots and listen to the good music!!

Bacon wrapped dates are the best thing ever!

This is our go to spot in Madison. It is a little more pricy than some places around so be prepared for easily a $65-$75 bill for two people but the food is outstanding. We love the potato croquettes and I’m a fan of the white sardines.

The Icon is an eclectic restaurant with a comfortable environment and appealing menu. The food is great, and the staff are friendly and attentive. It's a great choice for a meal before a show at the Overture Center.

Best drinks. Best paella. Flatbreads are to die for! Definitely great for before a show or a cute lil date night. Always fast and attentive

We loved this place for their tapas and sangria. Always pleasant. The food quality is good. Would recommend for dinner visits or cocktails.

The food was very good, authentic tapas. We ordered a variety of dishes including the vegetarian paella. The restaurant was clean, service was very good.

The drinks are great and you can't beat Happy Hour pricing. I had fish tacos and they were also really good.

We love the Icon. Come here every time we attend a show at Overture. Ellie was an awesome server! And Seamus was very nice.

Excellent and tasty food. Salmon in potato crust was great, cheese play was wonderful too with tasty olives.
