Ho Wah

Haven’t been here since I was a little kid and it remains excellent. Nothing trendy, just the classics done correctly. It wasn’t Sonny in the back and Lee trading barbs with my father while buttering my steamed rice like it was 35yrs ago, but it took me back. Glad we stopped.

Absolutely my favorite Chinese in NE Ohio. The service is always great and the food is always phenomenal. This past time I ordered Szechwan chicken and my boyfriend ordered sweet and sour chicken. Cannot wait to go back and eat more delicious food in a great atmosphere.

My Son and I had lunch here today and we were pleasantly greeted and sat. They were very efficient. They are for sure not overly pleasant , but super efficient. My only complaint was the vegetable egg roll was slightly cold inside as were the crab Rangoon. I saw other reviews that mentioned that and really thought it must be a one off thing, but no!!! I honestly would not order that again for that reason. They were fine otherwise, the taste was good. I didn’t feel they were unsafe to eat, just a little ick factor.

My son had the sesame chicken and we ordered it no spice- we were corrected with “mild”. I didn’t argue that I didn’t want any spice on that, but it came out perfectly. So mild must be 0!! I had the vegetable sub gum and I liked it a lot.

They included my hot tea in the price. I did feel it was on the top end price wise for what we received, but not unhappy.

I would for sure come back.

Really good Chinese food, attentive waiter, and great atmosphere. The food is very tasty and portions are plenty. Highly recommended. We will definitely be back.

I traveled from the southeast out to Richmond RD and CEDAR RD FIRST TIME at Ho wah . The food is the best Chinese food in the city. My tastes buds was very pleased with the sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls , shrimp egg foo young , chicken fried rice all fantastic. Greatly enjoy all. You guys I highly recommend Ho Wah. Yummiest...

We have been going to this place for over 30 years and it never disappoints. Some of the best Chinese food you can get and I was surprised to see some of the bad reviews because we have never gotten a bad meal here ever! Try it out!

Hey family this is my mom's favorite Asian food restaurant. She really enjoys the Wor Shu chicken and spring egg rolls
When we eat in or take out it's very good
Inside dining is great as well with your food arriving at your table at the right temperature and nice customer service along with it

My family and I have been coming here for YEARS. Every single time the food is amazing and the people who work here are the sweetest hardest working people ever! My absolute favorite place for Chinese food. Could not recommend this place enough!!!

This place is ONE OF A KIND. Yes, I can hear everyone now saying, "Yeah, yeah... it's 'just Chinese food.' Same old, same old."
To that I would respond, WRONG. They are on the NEXT LEVEL. There is something unique here with the flavors, food prep, tastes, the way it's presented that is unmatched in any similar establishment I've ever been to.
No matter what I've ordered the dishes are perfection. The sauces are light and don't overpower the ingredients. Your chicken isn't floating in gravy because there's more sauce than food. It's not too salty (I'm very picky abt this), never greasy. The Lo Mein noodles are thinner than traditional flat lo mein but I think these are better.
Anyway, if you've never been. Or are thinking to try, don't hesitate! The restaurant is a calm and peaceful atmosphere to have a nice conversation. Everyone is friendly and professional. And it seems the staff has been with them a long time.
I'll end with this: I grew up in Cleveland and used to live in Lyndhurst. We would order from there often and I'd order the same thing EVERY TIME, 😄😃😃. I have very fond memories of their food.

Now whenever I visit Cleveland, I make it a point to stop in and order a few dishes to take back home with me. Thats how good they are. 😊

Chicken Chow Mein (lunch portion to go) with egg roll. Ask for the egg roll to be cooked extra crispy or well done to be sure it's heated all the way through (ordered once before and it was just warn not hot enough inside) - great flavors still though.

Always delicious. We love this place. It's a hidden gem. Please go. You'll never have Chinese food anywhere else

The food is stellar by far the best Chinese in Ohio❣ They will will accommodate you as best they can on food items you prefer not to have. Normally a big take out order for us and the family is always happy❣
The grandpa is there to seat you normally as you walk in 🥰 the family is kind to all visitors.

I always get my food with soy because at times it may be to much so I'd rather add it myself

I had a delicious dinner at Ho Wah last week. I was happy to find the restaurant was very clean and well organized. I was greeted quickly and had a cold Lucky Buddha beer within minutes. They seem to be one of the few Chinese restaurants in the area that serve duck, which is what brought me here. I had the Eight Pearl Duck, which I found can sometimes be called Eight Treasure Duck. The duck was cooked perfectly and having all the extra "pearls" were a great bonus. I opted to have the dinner add on which included soup, egg roll, and a spare rib. It was way more food than I could eat, but it was all well worth it. I will visit again the next time I'm in Beachwood.

Food was very good. Good sized portions. Able to make a same day reservation.
Only thing is the waitresses maybe need some more customer service training 😅 we went a while before getting our orders in or waters.
Definitely a favorite though for our party of 6. It was our first time going, but can’t wait to go back and try another dish!

Sweet & Sour Chicken is so good

The food is great. The soy sauce is not your tip of the mill soy suace that comes in the little packets. It is very rich. You should a little bit at a time to your desired taste.

A great Chinese restaurant option in Cleveland with a retro, but cozy environment, friendly and speedy service, delicious menu, and you won’t break the bank when it’s all said and done.

I’ve been to a lot of Chinese places in NE Ohio after all these years, this place is still one of the best. The wonton is home made. The flavors are great. I’m not sure why the bad reviews, I’m not sure what more people want… just complainers
