I really enjoy going to this park. Lots to do from nice hikes to beginner friendly bike trails and fishing are just a few things. Go for a small hike or spend the day bring food go for a longer hike and disconnect from the world and go back to yalls roots (pun intended)

Today was my first time to Tourne Park and it was lovely. All the time, I encountered one dog walker and a park patrolman, plus the numerous types of birds and meadow critters along the paths and the River. So serene. The county's conservation efforts have made a difference in the quality of recreation here.

If you're a wildlife connoisseur, this is your place. I found myself wishing I had a guide to flora and fauna bc I saw so many species, and it's only early April! Be prepared for geese, hawks, chipmunks, and plenty of songbirds. Eek, and ticks... Be sure to cover up and check for ticks when you get home. It's still a deer heavy area. Though I didn't see any of them today, I saw plenty of hoof marks in the hour I spent at Tourne.

The area I went to was not the main park. Just before Tourne Park main, there's an outcropping with meadows and a preservation area that butts up against the Rockaway River and a golf course. So serene.

If you bring your dog, be sure to bring a leash! You're in for a treat, whether you stay on the flat meadows or take a trip up the hill (elevation gain about 300 feet). Scenic point and balancing rock at the top!

Great! Hiked Red & Decamp Trails, even though it was pitch black out.
Used Google® Maps to guide me to find Decamp Trail of Red Trail (or opposite trail names) in complete dark, with only a cheap cellphone light! It worked much better than trying to use MapMyWalk or the other hiking trail all I had.

MapMyWalk is great though. Used the app to track my hike. :-)

Nice park for group picnics. You can rent the pavilion so you and your group are covered rain or shine. Plenty of parking. baseball field, open field and horseshoe pit all near by. Plenty of hiking trails. We had a picnic at the Pavillion today and had a great time. It started to rain but we were protected from the elements. Just wish it had electric.

Clearly marked trails. Clearly marked parking lots. Great workout and beautiful views. Incline over 600 feet to mountain top.

The hike to the mountain top is a very short one, but it's good. The entire hike takes around 45 minutes. Not the best of the views from the top but it's fine. One can also see world trade center in New York from the top.

Great park to bring your dog on a walk. The trails are well kept and very clean. The sitting areas are nice and shaded, perfect for a picnic. And the mountain top has a beautiful view of the city.

Very big trails are nice and some side trails which are worth checking out. Playground is very small so it’s more for walking the trails.

Grew up not far from this park, first time back in many years... Definitely took it for granted when I was younger. Loved being amongst the trees again!

Great oasis to take your dog for a walk or for a short bike ride. Note... dog was only off leash for the photo and there's no one else in the park. Please leash your dog.

Great trails, and the playground is a nice treat for kids that always think "park" means slides & swings.

If you live in Morris County Tourne is a great local park to hike. There are a number of trails, all well marked, with both flat and elevation; and some areas where locals mountain bike. The wildflower garden area has a number of well marked plant species.

Tourne Park is a great place for a relaxing hike. If you go up the hill to the top it can be a bit challenging, but it's a short enough hike where you'll be done in about 30 minutes or so. When you get up to the top there's a view of the New York skyline on a clear day.

We enjoy Tourne Park all year around. There's so much to see even in the off season.

A bit busier than usual today with everyone trying to get exercise during the virus shutdowns. Took the complete red trail loop which gave me a 1.5 hour stroll on this beautiful afternoon. Nice to forget about things for awhile.
10/28/22 I hiked to the top of the Tourne and enjoyed the crisp fall weather and vibrant autumn colors. Then drove a tenth of a mile to the Rockaway River access and enjoyed a stroll along the river/canal remains. Beautiful day to be outside.
