I stumbled upon Valley Shepherd Creamy unexpectedly while driving and I am so glad I turned around and visited the store. Missy was so helpful and sweet and let me try a bunch of their cheeses. They are hands down the best cheeses I have ever had as well as the Sheep Tahitian Vanilla yogurt. Also, I was able to talk to the owner for a while and he was awesome. Cute store, great food and adorable animals. can’t wait for the cheese cave tour in the fall!!

Went to pet the baby lambs and goats. There is a short video about the farm and cheesemaking. My granddaughter had a good time. The children were taught how to pick up the animals properly and they were feeding them. Short tour of the cheese making area from an observation window.

I had a wonderful experience here with my two kids (1.5 and 4 y/o) on the spring lamb tour. We learned a lot about how the farm operates and enjoyed spending some time with the lambs and goat kids. And of course, the cheese plate was the perfect way to end the experience! I also ordered some cheese for a corporate event and they were very friendly and easy to work with. I've been telling everyone I know to visit this place! If you don't live nearby, they do sell at some farmer's markets like Duke Farms and some in NYC.

This place is absolutely beautiful! It’s a nice place to go to when you want to get your mind off of things. They have animals like goats and horses and others. They have a gift shop too where you can buy cheese, plushies/toys, yogurts and drinks! My daughter went to this creamery for a trip recently and the pictures and the experience she’s showed me and told me about is amazing! The workers here are nice as well! 👍👍👍👍

First time there. The store is small and quaint. They have a great variety of cheeses and other items made at the creamery or locally made for them. The girls behind the cheese counter were very knowledgeable and friendly. I had never tasted sheep cheese and ended up buying 3 different kinds. GPS will get you there easily. It's a beautiful ride, especially when the fall leaves are turning.

I shop here weekly for yogurt and butter, occasionally for the cheese. I'm waiting for the spring to do the tour with my grandchildren so they can see the new born lambs and goats.

If you are lucky enough to attend one of their cheesemaking class, you will have one of the best times of your life. Worth every penny to make your own cheese, that's then aged for you.

My husband bought me a gift basket from Valley Shepherd and I highly recommend ordering from this small business. The parcel was well packaged and my cheese arrived quickly and stayed cool. All of the cheeses were delicious and I will definitely be buying more. A wonderful gift for any cheese lover!

My family has been stopping by to pickup cheese here whenever we drive by for a couple years now. I recently brought my reluctant boyfriend on a Lambing Tour and we both loved it! The educational video on their cheese process was very well done, seeing the same equipment we saw in the video immediately after was very refreshing, the basically unlimited cheese samples were amazing, and feeding the baby lambs and goats at the end was the highlight. We are both 25, and I would recommend for all ages. This is also a Celiac friendly food tour.

Wonderful world class cave aged cheese tucked in the hills of rural NJ what's not to love. Bring the kids and let them play on the red tractors out front check out the llamas, sheep, goats and horse and of course buy great cheese. The ravioli is also great.

We went today for the spring lambing tours and had a great time. They show you a video of how they make cheese, then you can taste cheese (verygoat was our favorite 😋🧀), and then you walk not very far and see all the cute baby lambs and some baby goats! You can take a picture with them. We took some yogurt, salted butter, and goat cheese home. The butter and cheese are very good. I haven't tried the yogurt yet :)
The only thing is that they didn't have gelato :( They told me they will bring it back next month.
By the way, the tour was about an hour.
I don't find the summer tours as interesting as the spring or fall tours. Hopefully we'll be back in the fall for the cheese cave tour 😊

I have LOVED buying their cheese and butter at the Montclair Farmers Market. But I failed to stock up. Ordered some butter for holiday gifts. Came beautifully packaged and still cold. My friend literally jumped out of her chair she was so delighted.

They produce their own cave aged European quality cheeses; excellent selection. My favorite is the sheep’s milk tartufo (with truffles). We also refill our bottles of balsamic and olive oil...both can’t be compared with what you find in the supermarket.
The also have classes of all types, like cheese making.
Valley Shepherd is a great find, despite having very constrained business hours.

Wooowww! For someone such as myself who is lactose intolerant this place is surely the land of milk and honey Moses spoke about to his people. This place is an invaluable asset to it's community by providing the highest quality sheep and goat products available to man kind. This state of the art facility is churning out super high quality delectible gourmet, cheeses, yogurts , and specialty items made from their sheep and goat farm. I don't know how their yogurt isn't in every store in NJ it's simply the absolute best I've ever had , it's like ice cream it's too good, and their cheese is award winning of which you can sample when you go there. They do tours on the weekends of the facility if your interested in learning about the best milk products in America. There prices are great too, wish I lived by this place lol

I been eyeballing this farm for quite a while since I found their Instagram account , curdiologist. They do ship their products online but I wanted to personally visit the town where the farm is located . And goodness the area is breathtakingly beautiful. Upon entering, I was greeted by a sweet alpaca looking at me as I exit out of my vehicle 🥺
So, I went on a shopping spree :
• Cheeses:
1. Somerset: nutty flavor but taste similar to parmesan
2. Valley thunder: cheddar
The shop even will give you a sample to try before you buy !
• Goat Yogurt :
1. coconut Mango
2. peach mango
It’s so rich , smooth and creamy! My plus that it doesn’t have any hormones added
• Kalamata olive with Greek blend and herbs. (They even make olive oil ! If you come back for a refill in their product you get a discount price !!)
• Clover honey, so tasty and runny! This taste amazing with toast .( great for my allergies too)
•Home made red pepper with mozzarella ravioli
•And black truffle butter, the smell and taste is so heavenly!
Now that I bought the items I will definitely order from Valley Shepard creamery online to save the trip 😜

Who doesn't love cheese! They make great cheese! The price point is in line with the quality as well. I highly suggest getting a quarter pound of four selections. That'll keep you in cheese for over a week and will only run you a bit above 20 bucks. Good stuff!

Great variety of housemade cheeses. Sample any variety you like. Also yogurts and gelatos made from sheep's milk, olive oil, balsamic vinegar. Peaceful country farm atmosphere. Outdoor tables to enjoy your selections. Great for a stop on a ride through western Morris county.
