This place is incredible. It's not terribly big, but it is packed full of amazing history. From Mussolini's uniform badges, taken directly off his uniform to the letters home for those killed in action, it's amazing. The curator is super knowledgeable and loves answering questions. We have a family member in the 10th Mountain Division and we're so stoked to learn how amazing it is. It is free and worth that and any admission they might charge. A definite must see for the historical and military buff, or just anyone interested in what it takes to be in the military...Amazing!

Nice little military museum. Well worth stopping in if you're in the area. Modern building, clean restrooms. Covers the military history of the area from before and during the War of 1812, and the Mountain Division through WW2 and Afghanistan.

Small, but full of information. It has thankfully moved off base so you no longer need a pass to see the displays.

Awesome free museum right out side Fort Drum. There was a lot of cool items there and a kids scavenger hunt. Definitely worth checking out.

Very in-depth. They also have a very creative scavenger hunt for children with a special stamp at the end.

Stopped in for a quick look at this museum. Very small, but informative. Still a great place to visit and learn more about Army history.

Stopped at the museum on base, kind of a small representation of the soldiers from Pine Camp all the way to Fort Drum today. But the wait won't be much longer for the new Museum right outside the main gate with a more comprehensive overview of the 10th Mountain division.

The new mueseum is really well done, they had a scavenger hunt to get my young kids involved and reading the signs! Learned a lot of new interesting things! The new location was easy to access and off post makes it easier to visit for the community.

This museum highlights the importance of local historians and small museums. I called about an obscure question and within a few minutes the staff I was speaking to were able to point me in the right direction and did what quite a lot of online research failed to do.

Like to express my sincere thanks to the excellent staff and volunteers at the 10th mountain division museum. I found all the exhibits inside the museum excellent history value. As a combat veteran of the 10th mountain division I found this museums to be great to bring friends and family members to learn the history of United States Army Mountain Division , The exhibits of the 10th mountain division museum will show you the start and to the present day mountain soldier.

Nice little museum with a focus on the Fort Drum area and the 10th Mountain Division. Staff was excited to greet visitors and ask them about what unit they were with (to provide a more detailed history!).

Believe it or not this museum is not about the 10th Mountain Division, rather it is a telling of the history of Fort Drum, NY. Everything about the 10th Mountain Division is a bonus here. The curator (Kent) is one of the best in the Army at his job and the museum is made the better by him. The detailed account here is what makes this museum impact one. Beginning with the Native Indian settlements and ending with the 10th Mountain Division, the museum tells the story wonderfully.

The museum is well maintained and has artifacts from early America to recent Middle East campaigns. The staff was very knowledgeable and eager to share their knowledge.

My brother, Tyler Garlington, was in the 10th Mountain Division - he was so proud of it and this was the glory of his short life. He was shot by a group of cowards who feared him, in our home town after coming home with a brain injury that left him miserable and unable to enjoy life as he should have been allowed... The police ruled it a suicide because it was easier than to pursue their informants and he was a young man everyone gave up hope on. As much as he deserved and overcame, he always ended up being knocked down again by people CLOSEST to him. No he wasn't the easiest to get along with but he loved very deeply and had a childlike way that people took advantage of. He could not help the pain he endured - some of us are just born unlucky. I love you, Tyler. Thank you for fighting and I will always tell the truth about what really happened to you. The 10th Mountain were lucky to have you.
