Classic barbershop that's Veteran owned, with a cool, vintage vibe and style, providing excellent and friendly service. The shop is always clean. The barbers are talented craftsmen amazing me each time I get my haircut...and by the haircuts they give others. They greet everyone that comes in the door, are amazingly punctual and never rush to cut hair. The atmosphere is always positive, comfortable and welcoming, as well as the conversations. A couple of things to be aware of: it's a cash only shop and it offers a discount to veterans, cops and firemen.

We are visiting our son Travis & Daughter in Law Megan in New Jersey and my son took me to get a haircut at Swagger-Blade in Wanamassa NJ. There I met my sons barber Matt who cut my hair and trimmed my beard. In my 82 years this young man hands down gave me the best haircut and beard trim in my life. If any of y’all are ever in this area you will never find anyone as good as Matt. And by the way we are having a ball seeing Travis & Megan and playing with our newest granddaughter Hadley.

Brian is amazing! He takes his time to get it just perfect. He is creative and I love giving him artistic license for my designs.the shop is clean and inviting, everyone is so friendly.

For over a decade I’ve been a customer of swagger and blade. First, it’s a great haircut. Definitely the best I’ve received in my 40 years. The people who work here care for their craft and work tirelessly to continuously develop their skills. Second, the conversations are great. You’ll find yourself laughing, arguing, yelling and crying at each visit. Lastly, it is a veteran owned business and I stand proudly next to those who’ve fought for America and TRUE values for which this country represents.

Had a GREAT experience here as a first time customer yesterday. Dylan gave an A-1 head shave and really straightened out my new beard, as well as giving me tips on how to care for it until I make it back. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and there was great “barbershop banter” the entire hour, plus a lot of Ricky Bobby, step brother fun. This is my new place.

I arrived 15min early to an appointment I thought had had scheduled. Unfortunately, I was there on the wrong day and someone else walked in with the same appointment time. I made a mistake and apologized and was going to leave.
But then Shane asked if I’d be ok with sitting with another Barber, Chris, who had a break in between appointments. Chris was able to give me a cut and a beard shape up without making me feel like I inconvenienced him, which I may have, and he did exceptionally well. Thanks guys for continuing great work with great service.

I’ve been going to these guys religiously for about 8yrs now. They bring back the old school barbershop feel with fresh cuts and most of all conversation that gets the whole shop involved! In my opinion, and sad to say that’s a rarity these days. Shane and his crew, are courteous, professional and very punctual not to mention they crush it with hair! I highly recommend making an appointment with any of the barbers at either of their shops located in Wannamassa or Asbury!

Very cool place!!! A literal whole in the wall that surprisingly won't make you feel claustrophobic. The place is decorated very cool. I forgot to get a haircut and a shave before a formal dinner and I called them and they were booked but squeezed me in with a top notch cut and shave.

I used to live in the area and go to these guys they are the best around. I'm in town for the week and saw Evan for a haircut yesterday. Had to take a pic of the cut after to show my barber up north how I want it done. They do a great job every time. Great attention to detail. Highly recommend.

Great shop with a nice vibe. Chris was very friendly and gave some good suggestions since I had no idea of what I wanted. Definitely need a reservation beforehand; it was very busy on the weekend.

Just moved full time to the shore here - needed my nappy goat styled down and a head shave - came here for first time and will be coming back regularly. Amber shaved my head and cleaned my goatee - she was super nice, outstanding professional, did an amazing job on both. As a bald guy that likes getting my head shaved and can’t style my own goat to save my life - i recommend this place and will be back - thank you!

I have been getting my hair cut at Swagger and Blade, since it was just one chair in Wanamassa. Every experience I have had at Swagger and Blade has been great, no matter who has been cutting my hair. Impeccable attention to detail and precision in everything they do. Find your way to Swagger and Blade, you will not be disappointed.

This place is hands down fantastic. I have had a beard for 8 years and typically grow it out and maintain it along with my hair myself. Once or twice a year my beard and hair needs a professional trim to reset (split ends/breakage/transparency) and this is the only place I go. This time I had Amber, and she did an outstanding job. She took her time, and even gave recommendations as to what hair/beard style would look best. She was very knowledgeable about everything hair and beard wise. Sometimes, having a large beard can be intimidating for some places; not this place. I may not go as often as many, but for as few times as I can, I always leave looking and feeling great! Thank you!
