Great place to become one with nature and admire all that is free. Also a great NJand American history lesson with the Village to walk through. A must see.

I stopped by this State Park through recommendation from a co-worker, and I am glad that I took their suggestion. It is truly a great place to visit for all ages, and you could literally spend hours here. My main interest was visiting the village, which holds so much history. The buildings are well maintained, and the "actors" that I have interacted with (specifically Dwight, Joan, and Faith) were very engaging and knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed my conversations with these ladies. They have a "bakery" on site, but all the items come from local places. They also have a general store where you can buy gifts/souvenirs. There is plenty of parking and restrooms. I visited here on a Friday, where the admission is free. The weekends there is a small fee of $5, which is pretty reasonable and the hold events such as flea markets. I didn't get a chance to see everything on my first visit since the staff was setting up for a wedding. I will be sure to come back in the future to finish my self-tour and to do some hiking along the trails.

What a gem of a park. Excellent during the Halloween season. We come for the birding. Gorgeous! The bakery is awesome too!

What a pleasure it was to visit Allaire State Park for the first time this weekend. We visited on a beautiful spring Sunday morning/afternoon when there weren’t any special events going on. We paid $5 per person to enter the village and were surprised that there was someone (employee/volunteer?) in every building to provide information about their area (blacksmith, carpenter, etc.). The bakery and general store were both open with items for sale. We had a nice tour of the mansion and the lovely woman in the enameling furnace building spent a lot of time with us telling the whole story of the property and it’s past owners (at least half an hour). If you have the time, I definitely recommend listening to everything the staff has to say. We learned so much and everyone seemed very proud to be sharing. We then paid $6 per person to ride the steam train. The train isn’t related to the history of the village but it has been on the property since the 60s. All the train staff were friendly and we got two loops on the track. The ride is loud and quick but perfect for kids. They do really push for donations but they do explain that the upkeep of the train is fully funded by ticket sales and donations, no state funding. There are a few bathrooms on the property. Some inside at the visitors center and some porta potties in the village. We arrived earlier in the day and there was ample parking in the lot by the village but they use overflow lots in fields during larger special events. It was a little more crowded when we left several hours later and noticed a lot of graduates having their photos taken. Seems like a beautiful location for special occasion photos but did notice a sign that wedding photos are by permit only. We had a beautiful day at Allaire State Park and look forward to exploring the trails and visiting at Christmas time.

Beautiful walking area that’s paved. Great area for riding bikes as well. My 8 year old son really enjoyed biking on some of the trails in the woods.

Can’t believe I found this place so late! Very nice trail and park, my pup was able to come along too which is another plus. Halloween is the best time to visit, they had the cutest decorations and the leaves were still turning! The park is very clean!!

I've been visiting this park since 1980's. This is my favorite park. It's always a pleasure to walk the trails, visit the historic village and attend the events. Also the occasional ride on the Pine Creek Railroad. Absolutely love this place.

Today was a great day for a train ride at Allaire State Park, NJ. Met with Glenn, one of the engineers, and my long-time good friend. The train ride was historic and such a nice day to be out. Definitely recommend

First time visitor! Wow where to begin! Beautiful park and surroundings we came to take pictures of the hummingbirds. We didn’t visit the village portion as we didn’t know there was a cost. The information center was neat and the guide was informative. The train was cute. Plus was the many bathrooms available.

Allaire - More than the historic village.
While the village is great, there is so much more to the park. Try the miles of trails for biking, hiking, birding, dog walking and even horseback riding. A nice escape from the summer beach crowds. The fall foliage is hanging on, but won't last much longer.

Disc golf visitor. Course was beautiful. Read there were a lot of ticks but used bug spray and tried to stay out of the brush and had no issues. Definitely a fun course. Avoid the trees and you will have a great round like I did.

Beautiful trails and lots of daffodils in the woods in Spring. We saw deer and there’re few trails that we spent two hours hiking. Beautiful wilderness with not that many people even on a busy day.
An old train museum and few historical building, few people take photographs of elopements here, if you are into photography it’s a great place.

Just lovely. We only explored a small portion of the park and can't wait to go back. The buildings are open and working, but not everyday. Definitely check their site for info. Lots of people walking their dogs. There was even a wedding dress rehearsal going on in the chapel there. Again, just lovely.

Every year Allaire State Park in NJ has a showing of Historic Flags in their Chapel for Independence Day celebration. This years presentation of 9 flags was beautiful as always.

Allaire Park is a beautiful park with a chapel, historic houses, bakeshop, gift shop, walking trail and train that visitors can take a ride for a fee to sight see a portion of the park.
This park holds craft fairs and other events all year round and surely a visit here is worth it.

Visited The Village at Allaire State Park today and really enjoyed ourselves. Their was a $5 per person fee to enter, which I didn’t know, but it was worth the cost. There were a number of colonial re-enactors who made the village feel authentic. The blacksmith shop was up and running. That was quite interesting. The village is in really a great condition and there was quite a bit to see. There are also a lot of trails alongside the village for those interested in hiking as well.
