Tomo

Tomo is my go to restaurant. Food is always so fresh, sushi and sashimi here are another level. They also have nice selections of sake and beers. I enjoy the cocktails too.

Today, I was shopping in the nearby area and just hanging out in the local scene and decided to stop by Tomo Sushi and get a quick bite to eat for a late lunch. I ordered a Philadelphia Roll and as you can see it was prepared very well. The staff were polite, efficient and well mannered. The restaurant was clean, elegant and comfortable. This small lunch or quick bite to eat was a wonderful addition to the already great day I was having. I would recommend this others who are passerbys or who live in the local area. Thanks Tomo!

This was my first visit and the food was outstanding. I ordered the Bento box to try a variety of items, and it totally hit the spot. I chose the salmon teriyaki and it was cooked to perfection. Will be back!

Take-out food and eating in the restaurant are both awesome. Rolls are appropriately priced and service is always good. There is one woman that waits tables and does to-go orders and she’s always got a great attitude and is very friendly. I just can’t say enough good things about the quality of their food. Amazing. Also, the inside of the restaurant itself is always clean and smells nice.

Delicious food, great service. I haven't been in a few years to Tomo, but it's nice to see the longevity in consistency !

Quiet with soft, unobtrusive music conducive to conversation. Mostly booths with a few 2 person and a few larger tables. Waitstaff is very responsive, friendly and experienced. Impressive, extensive menu with daily specials on paper or chalkboard, several beers and many saki. The food is absolutely excellent. Creative sushi. Everything very fresh. I've been coming here years and the same thought always goes through my mind: What is this place doing here in little Saugerties and not in a major urban center?

For the naysayers, I have travelled extensively in Japan and Asia.

We were last customers only few minutes before closing and yet were treated like royalty. Excellent tasting food lovingly served. The soup was an added free bonus delicious and amazing for the stomach. Best restaurant in Catskills area that we have been to.

Best Chicken Katsu I've honestly ever had!! I will be back for more!!!!!

Delicious food! I went with two friends and ordered the chicken katsu- it was perfect. My friends got sushi and udon and they were also very happy with their meals. For dessert we order the special dessert( fried ice cream and bananas) and it was one of the best things I have ever eaten.

Hands down the best Sushi Place In this area. Been going here for over ten years and can say the Quality is number 1 and to me the second most important thing.......CONSISTENCY is all there. Literally have not been let down one time in ten years. Fast... super friendly service and very convenient location with plenty of parking. They also do take out......In a pinch it works....But there is a tiny drop in freshness when delaying the consumption of this super fresh delight. I've got no problem recommending Tomo Sushi In Saugerties. If You know sushi.....you'll know this is good stuff.

Aside from my three personal flavor disappointments (listed at the bottom) everything that I tried was excellent. Fresh tasting fish/eel, well cooked rice, wrapped nicely, good to look at and most importantly it all tastes great. The "Tomo" roll especially was really a surprise of flavors, I don't know if I've tasted something quite like it (there seemed to very heavy flavour of anise in it, but potentially some variant I've not tried,) but whatever it was worked exceptionally well. The rest of my order was "unagi w avacado" roll w personally requested eel sauce, california roll, a "spicy crunchy scallop" roll (aside from no noticeable crunch the flavor was excellent,) and a salmon roll, again, and, again all were of good quality and flavor.

The three negatives to me were the thickness of their eel sauce, which was just less viscous than what I'm used to, the lack of vinegar in the rice, which I'm sure a lot will appreciate although it isn't my personal preference, and the fried rice seemed to lack the smoky quality I appreciate, but all of these are personal preferences and I can definitely still give them a 5 from the quality and overall flavor of their food.

This restaurant is fantastic! The food was perfect, the staff was highly efficient and patient. We also enjoyed the atmosphere in the room. We left there feeling happy and content.

Good Japanese food. Excellent sushi rolls. The pork Katsu was a little thin for my liking but still decent. Nice people, too.

Never tried their seafood soup before today...I was pleasantly surprised! Their sushi is always amazing but I have a new upgrade to Miso!
