Himalaya Restaurant

I work for CertaPro Painters one town over and whenever we have a job in Yorktown I make a point to stop at Himalaya Restaurant. The food is authentic, high quality, and delicious. The portions are generous and you can easily make two meals out of their chicken and rice dishes.

They were kind enough to let us in 15 min before the kitchen closed. Excellent service and even better food. Highly recommend.

Sauces are spiced perfectly. They use many vegetables in the korma. Makhini sauce is not too heavy on the tomato. Everything is fresh and quality is great. Fast service even when they are busy. Not too noisy.

Everything I ate was so flavorful, delicious and it was so much food! I got the Himalayan Masala, Chicken Momo and Mango Lassi. They serve you Papadam with tamarind and onions while you wait 😍

Ordered for takeout for the first time. The food was very good. Staff were very friendly and so pleasant with constant smile. Prices are a bit high for lunch but it's a white tablecloth restaurant. Liked the ambiance while waiting for my takeout. The wait was 10-15 minutes. The place was quite busy for a lunch hour. Will be going back again for sure. Can't wait to try other entrees.
Update: had dinner here tonight. The food was so delicious and the service was excellent!

5/5 delicious! The beef momo soup, mango lassis, chicken momos, fried beef noodles, and garlic naan are out of this world. Cannot wait order delivery again and get it all over again.

We are regular dinners at this establishment, but since the start of the pandemic we only do takeout. This review describes our experience for takeout.
On January 1st, 2022 we called the restaurant on 6:00 pm and place an order. The food was ready for pick up 1/2 hour later. We ordered Lamb Makini, Boneless Chicken Tika, and Naan Bread with garlic . The total was $49.40.
The food was well packaged, and warm when we stated our dinner about 10 minutes later at our home.
The naan bread is highly recommended with a dish like Lamb makini. You dip the bread in the rich sauce and you are having a treat. I personally prefer the naan with spinach over the garlic since the sauce is already heavily spiced.
The chicken was juicy and is served over vegetables like red peppers, and onions.
The lamb makini was delicious, and is an excellent match to the bread and the basmati rice that comes with it.
Although we did not order appetizers this time, I strongly recommend the samosa.

Delicious! I have been here a few times. It’s definitely on the pricier end, but it’s very good. Service is quick and the food comes out hot! One time, we came late in the day and they gave us a huge order of naan, which was very generous.

The flavors of the region make this a really wonderful dining experience. I can't wait to go back! The owner was chatting with us and we told him our favorite restaurant in Colorado is The Sherpa House in Golden. He said "he is my cousin"! I highly recommend both places.

We were driving up here from Long Island and so glad we saw this little gem. The food and service are EXCELLENT. Everything was so delicious and fresh, but my favorite was the beef momo soup- even took one to go because couldn’t get enough. Staff is so friendly and can tell they truly care about the food they prepare and serve. Would definitely come back here just them.

Always love to eat here! Sizzling seafood is everyone's favorite when we go.

Food taste is so good. Service is good. Reasonable price.

The food is always consistent and very tasty.
We had the shrimp korma, delicious big shrimp perfectly cooked and we also ordered the lamb Korma which was delicious to. I had also the lentil soup that had a wonderful taste, and some kind of samosa meat pie with a tangy sauce. The service is great. They have a couple of waiter helping for each table, very polite and professional.
I love coming to this restaurant, never disappointed. They even gave us a complimentary desert for my Moms 93 Birthday. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Fantastic food. Different cuisine and absolutely worth trying

We tried so many restaurants in North Westchester, and we would like to thank you for the fine food, fine experience, lovely staff you have: you certainly stand out. We need to come back for more (particularly as for some reason we cannot get it delivered anymore, we seem to be too far).

The food was amazing!! The preparation, paportion, and the presentation was absolutely stunning! I reccomend this restaurant because the food is delicious!

This has become our favorite restaurant, the food is excellent (Saag and curry dishes are especially good). No matter what we have ordered it has been wonderful. The staff is attentive and friendly and the decor is pleasant. The restaurant itself is intimate and well kept. Highly recommended !

We love this place. Food is always fresh and flavorful, place is very clean and staff is friendly. What more could you want?! Definitely a jewel in Yorktown Heights.

Very similar to, but not quite Indian food. Very tasty. They will adjust spicy heat to your request. It's small and very busy with takeout and everything is cooked to order so service can be a little slow. Worth the wait. Wife LOVES the hot ginger lemon tea.

Top notch food!!! We ordered the following: Vegetarian Thali, Veg. Momos, Veg. fried Noodles , Mango Kulfi…. We enjoyed the food, it was delicious and flavorful! Customer service was good. Can’t wait to visit again 😍
