The Met

Excellent food and atmosphere in a historical building in downtown Lima across from the courthouse. Craft beers and cocktails. Old brick and ceiling. They also do events and small weddings. The manager Liz was friendly and informative on this as a caterer and wedding venue. Chicken Marsala is on point. Spinach and artichoke dip is also quite yummy.

Definitely worth a stop if in Lima!

I would highly recommend this place. My son was traveling in Ohio and on Saturday he went to the Met with a coworker to have dinner and I called to see if the staff could make him feel extra special as it was his birthday. Wow they did. I spoke to Peggy who was so kind thoughtful and very caring. Her and Amber made it happen and my son was in shock and was smiling from ear to ear. Service like that is something to write home about. If you get a chance to visit be sure you see Peggy and Amber. Many blessings to Peggy and Amber.

No gluten free bun but a handful of other GF options. Crab dip and tacos were amazing. Drinks affordable and delicious and fancy!

Traveled quite a distance for this experience and it did not dissapoint! Before you even enter you are invited to a nice outside dining area! The atmosphere inside is outstanding! The pictures of the food spoke to me and they delivered 🤙if you don't see pictures of the food on reviews that entice you ask for recommendations! I was skeptical of having peanut butter paired with a burger, but I will say I was surprised! The staff completed the overall experience! Kudos to this perfectly owned restaurant ❤ wish you were closer to me but I will revisit!!!

First time at The Met and the atmosphere is amazing the service is top notch. Me and my wife had the pleasure of having Camden as our server omg we are definitely in good hands she is full of information about the menu and the history of the e building. Thank you for a great experience.

The food is absolutely delicious!
I had a half-portion Harvest Salad and the Salmon. The salmon came with wild rice, barley, and quinoa -- and asparagus. I taste a hint of chili!
The bartender kindly whipped me up a "mocktail" (no alcohol). It was great!
The building is historic and the food is fantastic. My server was friendly and helpful. 5 stars all-around!

We had the chicken marsala half portion and the meatloaf. It was really great! I thought the flavors were spot on! I had the red wine blend and my husband had the sangria which was also delicious. Service was good the place was fairly empty but it was late (after 8 PM). The server was very attentive and friendly and even told us about where to eat for breakfast in the morning. The chef even added some bread pudding on the side for our dessert to go which was cheesecake, also excellent!

This was a great little local restaurant. They staff treated us great and gave us recommendations for what to drink and eat. I would definitely come back here again and bring more guest! They also take Reservations so if you have a group, best you use that service. The Tavern Burger was crazy good!! The cheese curds were the best I have ever had in Ohio!! The whole layout is nice and it was pretty cool to walk thru their backdoor because you can see the whole layout of the restaurant. My group had the meatloaf and the pulled pork sandwich!! Everybody loved it. If I had one mild critique, I would say the fries were a lil heavy on the seasoning side. That was about it but I ate it all so it wasn't to bad.

We love the Met! We come here for almost every date night. Also, Destiny is awesome! She's so positive and even gave us a little tour of the restaurant and told us all about the history of the building.

I've the atmosphere here. The service was great. The food is wonderful here. It has a lot of character. I recommend coming here if you want a great dining experience in Lima.

I took our office to The Met for our Christmas Luncheon. I am so glad we made the 45-minute drive. Destiny our waitress was helpful on recommendations and made a great cherry coke! Her food recommendations were perfect, I had the lakeshore shrimp, and it was amazing along with the sinful fries that we shared. I would recommend going and look forward to sharing with others!

We ate a wonderful dinner with drinks and dessert. The decor was so extraordinary I asked the waitress, Destiny, to tell me about the building. She brought over Liz the manager/owner. Liz was so kind and told us a about the building that was built in 1880 and showed us all around. The building was part of the old Metropolitan Bank. There was so much history in the building. They repurposed old doors from the apartments upstairs into dining tables and my favorite thing was the old radiator heaters that were repurposed as tall table tops. The food, the service and the atmosphere were superb! Thank you to The Met staff for making us feel so special. We will definitely be back!

Food was excellent. Best cheese curds I have ever had. Steak was excellent too. I'm assuming the server was a little over loaded as the place was packed and the service was a little lacking.

Brussel sprout salad was amazing and the flatbread was a veggie flatbread. She said it was great! Really nice atmosphere and great service!

The only issue that I had was I had trouble with RSVPing for a party of 5 (which actually was 6) but the time slot for 2pm was not available. However, when we showed up there were plenty of tables available to accommodate our party. We did get seated right away even though we were about 15 minutes early which was nice and greatly appreciated.

The food was amazing, everyone in my party enjoyed their food and loved the decor. I had the Met Tacos which was 4 flour tortillas, 1 each with Sirloin, Chicken, Pulled Pork and Brisket, topped with pico, sour cream, cheese and shredded lettuce. It did not disappoint! I finished all 4 tacos because they were so good (I was full at the 3rd taco but couldn't stop there). I generally don't go for pico but I think the toppings were appropriate and gave it a great savory taste. I would definitely recommend. I also had the Dark and Stormy cocktail which I believe had dark rum, maple syrup, and apple cider. It went down really easy, was very tasty and really I couldn't tell it had alcohol in it. I only had one at $9 because that would have added up quickly. It was refreshing so I would recommend that as well.

I will say that our server, Chris B. was awesome. He showed us around your venue, took several family photos for us and was really attentive.

Side note, there is nearby street and public parking. It's not directly in front of the venue but just a short walk.

For staff is very polite. The service was great. The food came out and it was delicious. They were very fast very delicious. I recommend this place for somebody who wants to go out on a date or just want to go try something new.

Went here for a business outing. They rented the whole venue. Great atmosphere. The food we were served was great. Staff was friendly and really good.

Welcoming, warm and accommodating. With our reservation booking we informed them of an allergy restriction (which is sometimes a challenging allergy to accommodate). When we arrived they not only took the time to review every menu item in advance for the allergen, they even made a customized menu to remove any guess work while ordering! They also make one hell of a delicious martini!

A wonderful Lima gem. Service was great and our server was very attentive and friendly. We really enjoy sitting outside on one of the last warm days. The food was delicious. I had the Shrimp Tacos. So good! My wife enjoyed the Met Salad...her go-to dish at The Met. I highly recommend.
