Kewpee Hamburgers

This place is amazing, fresh pies, donuts. Yes, we had to wait in line because it's so fabulous. Even the drive through is packed 10 cars back. Want an old-fashioned hamburger and a wonderful old-fashioned setting. Original owners come here and stop by the frosties are fantastic. The staff is absolutely wonderful, friendly

Be prepared to wait in line to order but don't worry it goes pretty quickly and they will come out and take your order when you get close to the register so it's ready or almost ready by the time you pay. I had the double cheeseburger with bacon added on and it was delicious! Not huge but not skimpy good flavor cheese completely melted and cooked to perfection. Fries are also good kind of reminds me of McDonald's fries but better. Also had a slice of apple pie which tasted fresh and homemade. Very reasonable prices too. I would recommend getting the xl 32oz drink as their large isn't very big and I don't know if they offer free refills. Highly recommend and would absolutely go back!

Fast food junkies TAKE NOTICE! Dave Thomas would base his own burger franchise (Wendy’s) on this legendary burger restaurant. Imitation might be a form of flattery, but Wendy’s doesn’t even come close to the burger-perfection that is Kewpee’s. First started in a hotel in 1923, the first storefront opened in 1928, so this year (2023) is their 100th Anniversary!!! (*or in five years depending on who you ask)
And frankly more people need to sing their praises. So…ahem…
There’s not one bad thing on the menu, but a Kewpee with everything (bacon, cheese, peppers, olives, tomatoes, etc.) is essential. Their secret is a hardcore standard of freshness. Where’s the Beef? (not at Wendy’s, but at Kewpee’s). There used to be Kewpee’s in other cities and states, but now they’re only in Lima, OH. If you’re anywhere near Lima, stopping by for the best burger EVER is pretty crucial. Every bite is packed with mad flavor.
None of America’s other burger franchises can compare (sorry In & Out, you’re mediocre at best…Whataburger is probably the next best thing AFTER Kewpee’s).
Their blackberry frozen yogurt is awesome too. And you really should try the lemon slush and fish sandwiches too.
Thank You Kewpee’s! You are America’s BEST burger franchise. Here’s to another 100 years!

Kewpee Hamburgers has been dealing out hamburgers in the Lima Ohio area since the 1920's. A fantastic, nostalgic place that will take you back to when life was a little slower.

Be prepared to wait in line, it's not a Lima darling for nothing! Fries, Pies, Malts, Chili, Burgers, Breakfast Sandwiches, Donuts, and the Double Large Drink, this place has a little bit of everything.

It was calm. The food was great. Everyone got along well.
I had a cheeseburger with mustard and pickles, coke and a small frosty. The food was very good.

Best burgers in Ohio. Good chili. Very reasonable prices. The dining room reminds me of a 70s Mc Donald's. Don't let it fool you. This place has great fresh food and homemade pies. I go here every time I'm in Lima.

👍🏼 Our first time at Kewpee and we loved it. When we saw the cars lined down the alley for the drive thru, we knew it had to be good! Love the simple menu! The hamburger was great as well as the fries! Chili and malt was just as amazing! The staff was very friendly and actually took pride in their work. We will be back next time in Lima.

Super busy location but totally worth it! What an excellent sandwich location with perfect customer service. The cashier was able to take my family’s order with no problem. Best customer service around. We love Kewpee burgers!

This place is awesome and very old school. The employees were very patient and helpful and even though it's always busy I did not have to wait long. The food is fantastic I haven't had it in more than 20 years and it was definitely worth the stop to check it out. The hamburgers are some of the best I've had and their malt shake was pretty amazing. This is definitely a place I would visit every time I come to Lima including the original location which I drove by on the way here.

If you live in Lima, Ohio then you know about Kewpee's delicious food items. I got two specials (mayo tomato n lettuce) and a small vanilla frozen yogurt. And a slice of the lemon krunch pie. If you ever come to Lima check out Kewpee's it's only in Lima Ohio.

I always loved this as a kid. I’m all the way in Dallas Texas, but it was great to come back and share some memories here with my family today. It’s been too long.

I came from Toledo to check this place out. The double cheeseburger was very large and very good. I could have been fine with the single as it turns out. The double should have had two slices of cheese IMO. I was a bit disappointed that the place didn't look a bit more retro, but maybe it's true that you can't ever go back. Still, a fun and tasty road trip.

The food is very good! Pies are amazing! Meat comes from local keystone butchery. This resturant is the original idea for Wendy's. It's a great local spot. My only complaints is the small bathrooms and small booths but the building is VERY old which is likely why it's like that. It's all original! The pies, frosties, and burgers are so yummy and have been a family favorite for generations! They do usually have a long long but they don't mess up orders super often. Very iconic local burger joint which has been loved by many generations in the area. :)

Long lines cannot be unexpected for Lima's favorite hamburg! My grandpappy ate here, and although I only get back to Lima about once a year, we get Kewpies at least twice per visit. There is no substitute.

The best burgers and fries I've ever had from a fast food restaurant

Love this place. I've been going here since I was a little girl. I remember when they had the carousel for the cars because it was a dead end parking space. This is a historic restaurant famous worldwide now because of Wendy's. Dave came to Lima and tried to steal Junior from the Kewpee. They did get permission to use the recipes.

Still great food, but since Covid should no longer be considered "Fast Food". It is typically a 45 minute wait from the time you arrive till you get your food.

Whenever in Lima be sure to stop by any of the Kewpee locations for breakfast, lunch or dinner! Best food and service in town!!

We frequently get the caramel cappuccinos in the morning. Great value and service every time. Thanks to the blond "ish" haired lady who always seems to be there between 6:00 and 7:00 a.m., service is always great and she is always friendly.
