Justin Frey, MD

My whole family goes to Dr. Frey. I have some very complex medical issues and Dr. Frey is very caring and compassionate. I have been to very good and very bad doctors, Dr. Frey is great. He listens, is attentive and does not over treat at all. He takes what you have to say into consideration and goes over all of the options with you. I have never felt neither neglected nor over handled by Dr. Frey. I would not have my children going to someone I did not completely trust. Dr. Frey takes the time to ensure I feel I am getting quality care from my specialists as well. Very very difficult to find great care and Dr. Frey is a quality practitioner.

My experiences w/ Dr. Frey are pretty much the total opposite of the other review posted here. From the first appointment I ever had with him, he seemed to be almost overly focused on avoiding costly/unnecessary medicines & procedures. He kept using the word "cost" when discussing treatment and explaining why he was recommending one thing over another. That is something I have always appreciated about him, and that has just been his way for several years now. Good luck at your new practice Doc!

Dr. Frey has been my primary physician for several years now. He has helped me through two injuries from my military service when other physicians could not. He also has a wholesome and genuine personality which seems rare in physicians based on my experience.

My wife had her annual physical with Dr. Frey in June. At the appointment Dr. Frey claimed to feel an abnormality in one of her breasts. My wife could not feel an abnormality. She asked if she need to have he mammogram done before her annual screening with would be a the end of July. He said it was not of much concern an she should just schedule her annual screening when it was due the end of July. When she arrived at Mercy Hospital in Janesville for the mammogram she was surprised that they had also scheduled for an ultrasound on the breast that Dr. Frey claimed to have felt an abnormality. This should have been communicated prior to arriving for the appointment and not have been sprung on my wife at the last minute when arriving at the hospital. She also was still under the assumption that they were doing a screening mammogram, but after receiving the statement from insurance it turns out that they performed and billed for a diagnostic mammogram without any prior knowledge. Neither the mammogram, nor the ultrasound indicated anything abnormal so did Dr. Frey make an honest mistake or did he just make it up so that more tests could be run to collect more money for the Mercy Health System? Now the hospital refuses to change the coding to a screening mammogram and we are being bill for a procedure we pay for out of our own pocket instead of the intended screening mammogram that would be covered 100%. We are also being billed for an unnecessary ultrasound test that did not need to be done at all. Dr. Frey has just move away from the Janesville area and I'm glad my wife will be going to a different doctor instead of this idiot.
