Doug Linn provided essential and providential advice in a rather complicated owner financing of a residential home sale. He is very professional and competent. And his personal/relational skills match his expertise.
Difficult negotiations may ever be "pleasant", but Mr. Linn brought the clamor to a very manageable level, and all the while looked for ways to make the deal happen, while protecting his client.

Working with Linn & Grendell made a bad experience into a good one. I called on this law firm because I needed help in securing my security deposit back from my landlord. I worked specifically with Douglas Linn, but I know that James assisted when my case got complicated. Douglas was professional, timely, and kind. Thanks to James (Grendell) we reduced our home valuation by $25,600 which should save us about $500 per year. What seemed like a scary process to jump into (filing a “complaint” to my county Board of Revisions) turned out to be straightforward with James’ guidance and assistance. I've hired Linn & Grendell twice and was very impressed. I worked directly with Douglas Linn both times, but I'm sure his partner was also involved. Overall, they were very responsive, creative, well grounded in the law and worked personally with me, one-on-one to meet all my needs, all at a very fair cost. This is in stark contrast to my experiences with larger law firms where my work was not a priority, it was a cold impersonal relationship and often the work was delegated to a paralegal.

My first experience with Linn & Grendell was as President of an HOA. They helped us re-write and file our By-Laws as our neighborhood converted from "Developer-led" to "Homeowner-led". All the complex language of our 25+ page By-Laws needed re-wording and Doug ensured this was done correctly and was clear without ambiguity. They even saved us money in the filing process by editing and reformatting the document since the filing cost was "per page". We were so pleased, we retained them as our HOA legal representative. As a retired P&G executive, I later hired them to do personal business contracts for me. Again, Douglas was extremely responsive, took the time to understand what I wanted in the contract and included additional points that I had not thought of to protect me under any circumstance. On a personal note, I found Douglas to be extremely intelligent, eclectic in his knowledge and skills and still very relatable.
