Our server Kaylnn was so sweet. She gave me Apple Cobnler for my birthday. Love the food and service is amazing.

It was almost closing when my fiance and I went in for green Chile stew and green Chile wontons...the food was AMAZING!!! I also had a drink which was made perfectly. The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere was great. Friendly staff as well. I will be going back when I travel back to Ruidoso! ♥

Mother's 89th birthday lunch on Friday Feb 16th, 2024.
Server was extremely friendly and accommodating. Excellent service. Not hovering, but in the spot to check on us.
California was a wee bit shirt on the avocado. But was massive. Cooked to perfection, and the best test in a burger in the last few years.
Salad bar was massive and so well maintained and kept clean.
Very worth the drive up from Alamogordo.

Second time in, much better than first. Service was great as they must have gotten fully staffed. The rib eye steak I got was very good. Soup and salad bar fantastic.
Party of 8. Service was very confused and spotty. Seemed like they didn't know who was supposed do what, when. I had ordered a glass of wine and had to ask 3 different servers for the glass. The party had to ask constantly for water, wine, beer, butter and so on. Steaks were good, prime ribs not. Under cooked and small. I understand place reopened in May. Maybe in a few months, it may be worth trying again.

This place is really good. Service was wonderful. Each and every course was well served. Prime rib is a must!

The food and service were excellent. So stoked to have this gem back open. We had the catfish, the crispy chicken salad and of course the yummy salad bar! Definitely put on your list for the next time you’re looking for some classic good food.

The bar salad is a must take. It costs around $10 for all you can eat, or around $15 for bar salad with grilled chicken. The selection of foods in the bar salad is amazing: different salads, individual ingredients and 2 different kinds of soups.

I highly recommend this place if you are in the area!

Always enjoy the drive from Alamogordo to Ruidoso to eat at Cattlebaron steakhouse. Our favorite is the 6 Oz prime rib. It is a big portion for the money. Highly recommend!

My steak and okra was prepared just right ,salad bar was stocked up and was all fresh but the service was awesome our waitress Selena was friendly with a smile to die for, she made the atmosphere great and enjoyable the bathrooms were clean this by far is the better cattle barn of the Three we eat at thank you

Great Chicken Fried Chicken with cream gravy. I asked for dark gray on my mashed potatoes. Delicious! My husband had Pork Ribs and onion rings.His ribs were so good and fell off the bones. Ice cold beer in frosted glasses. So refreshing 😌 We will be back!

The Best Homemade Salads You'll Try! The ladies who make the coleslaw, potato salad, carrot salad, macaroni salad, pasta salads, and fruit salads have been doing it for 40 years now! The Chicken Fried Steak and Ribeye are always amazing! Service was excellent!

Got a salad and the green chili wonton. Such good food, friendly staff. The restaurant was clean and the salad bar was great, no wilted lettuce or food lying everywhere.

Great place and experience. It seems that everyone in Ruidoso from Texas to New Mexico stops here for a nice dinner. Remember the concept of a salad bar? Well, COVID did not wipe out the salad bar here. The good meats here must come from West Texas. No visit to Ruidoso is complete without a stop and dinner or lunch here at the Cattle Baron. Enjoy!
