Michael, the owner of Nightmare Muscle Gym, knows how to put on a powerlifting show! You could just feel the energy inside this gym. Michael is very personable, humble, and doesn’t seem bothered when you ask him questions. He encouraged good-natured competition amongst all athletes during the WRPF event a.k.a.: “Texas Power Bar Presents Capitol Gains.” there’s a lot of great quality equipment in this facility and has 24/7 hour membership availability. This gym is absolutely amazing. It had that old school feel of a real gym. People there are absolutely some of the best I have had the opportunity to meet. The owner is top notch. Looking forward to coming back.

First hooked up with NM 6 or 7 years ago. One of my lifters had a singlet blowout. They jumped into action and gave them a singlet on the spot. Since then we have had a great business relationship as they provide custom top quality apparel. They over promise & OVER deliver! Paige and the entire Catharsis family are the absolute best. These folks really care about you and always look out for you and care for you! The facility is amazing and the equipment is gorgeous if you’re looking to get seriously strong or compete. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I’m newer to the area from another state and I was recommended to check out catharsis strength. James was extremely welcoming and informative when I arrived.
It’s a strong/ supportive and humble community from the people I have met here.

All the equipment is in great shape as well as the dumbbells and plates. James definitely takes pride in his gym and equipment. It’s great to come across a gym with every kind of equipment that I need without a big crowd.

Catharsis strength is the best training facility in the area for powerlifting, strongman, bodybuilding and everything else in between. The facility is really well maintained and the entire atmosphere is perfect in getting one motivated and in the right mindset. The owner Paige is a great guy who really strives to makes the facility the best it can be for the members. He’s open to suggestions and is very approachable. 24 hr access and an affordable rate. You will love this gym If you’re a powerlifter

Great gym for strongman competitors, powerlifters, and bodybuilders alike. Has pretty much all you need for all three. It also caters to those who just want to be in a generally better shape. I myself compete in powerlifting and this gym is definitely a step up from your commercial gym. The environment is for those truly dedicated to a lifetime of change in their physical fitness goals and is very motivating. The owner Paige is very helpful and is open to any and all questions and suggestions.

The 24 hour access is very convenient. Also for the price you pay, you get so much. I’m very happy with my membership and don’t plan on ever

Excellent gym! Though this is a powerlifting & strength sports-focused gym, general lifters and fitness enthusiasts will “fit” right in (pun intended). The owner is flexible and understanding (which was super important during the pandemic), plus it has 24-hour access. What more can you ask for? Would recommend Catharsis 100%.

Catharsis Strength is a diamond in the rough. Tucked away among other businesses one can easily drives pass this gem but, this gym can easily cater to the hardcore powerlifters, technique driven weightlifters, or the even the dedicated strongman. Paige who is the owner of the gym is knowledgeable, approachable, and amiable. I emailed him inquiring pricing and hours for the gym and he responded promptly and offered insightful information.

From power racks to deadlift platforms and from power sleds to atlas stones this gym will have whatever you need. The atmosphere is friendly and other goers are willing to offer help or information if need be. If you are a competitive lifter, Paige keeps and up-to-date board on any local meets or federation oriented meets that list the times, dates, and other information related to the meets.

I have enjoyed everyone second in this and gym highly recommend this gym to anyone who is tired of lifting in a commercialized gyms where you always face an inconvenience.

Great gym whether you want to improve your overall fitness, or want to get into power lifting. Plenty of free weights/machines, and 24/7 access for a low cost. The owner is very helpful and attentive to all suggestions and concerns. Definitely check this place out regardless of your fitness level or fitness goals.

Sadly, I will be leaving this place after almost two years of going here. The only reason is because I’ll be moving out of Sacramento, wish I could take this place with as this was right near my house and walking distance so it was perfect. Facility feels very exclusive and the 24/7 access with parking was convenient. The machines were always maintained and weights always racked. The people here always have the best attitude and are very respectful of each other. Would highly recommend this place.

This gym is amazing! Amazing facility, great environment and well equipped whether you are strength training or bodybuilding. Exceptional and knowledgeable couches and friendly staff. Comfortable gym for everyone from beginners to professional athletes to train at.
Open 24hrs which is a huge plus!!!

Came in from out of state for a family emergency and wanted to find a gym nearby. Found Catharsis and emailed the owner, Paige, off the contact info on their site. He reached back to me, almost immediately, and I was there and set up to come in for my weeks other 3 workouts within an hour. The place isn't the largest, but it had everything I could have needed, plus more, Paige and the fellow members were very friendly and welcoming, and he charged a very fair price. If you're looking for a gym were you'll want to chit chat next to the elliptical, this place might not be your cup of tea, but if you're looking for a place to pray to the iron gods, put in some real work, make some new friends, maybe get hyped up during a PR, then you should definitely check this place out. Don't be hesitant to check this place out due to their powerlifter/bodybuilder aesthetic, I saw people of all shapes and fitness levels getting to the grind. Reach out to the staff ahead of time, before showing up, as you need to badge in to the place.
