Absolutely amazing. Breakfast is exactly what you expect. Yummy, fresh, and big portions. Phil was a friendly waitress that did a great job. Beautiful area and a great restaurant to hit on a scenic cruise.

Got a recommendation from a local at Sawyer Brewery company to come here for dinner, and what a recommendation it was! First, we took a short hike to Roughlock Falls and then had dinner at Latchstring. Breathtaking views, scrumptious dinner, and excellent service by Victor. I personally ordered the Latchstring tradition Trout Almandine, and my husband ordered the Country fried steak (that set a whole new standard for country fried steak. I have never had anything so delicious, crispy, juicy, not oily, not chewy. It was thick and tender. Perfection served over garlic mashed potatoes) my Trout was so delicious (I think I actually got a whole Trout and not just a fillet. I can see why this dish is a traditional dish, so tender, juicy, and so delicious) hot fresh bread rolls and perfect crisp veggies. The local beer they had on tap, Sawyer brewing (read my previous review) the entire evening was perfect. The food, the service and company..perfect!

The blacken trout was wonderful!!! And the garlic potatoes were out of the world!!! Now we are enjoying the most delicious warm apple pie and hot cocoa and Bailey's!!! What a delightful experience Oh and the service was incredible!!!

Came through last summer and just happened upon this and decided to try. It was amazing food and I definitely recommend the club sandwich. Amazing

We came here For my birthday in December. Even though it was a quiet off-season it was an amazing and beautiful experience. The steak tenderloins were cooked perfection. The pasta tortellini with chicken was very good. I could taste all of the different spices and flavoring of the food. Our waitress Rachel was excellent. Thank you so much I appreciate this wonderful night!!!!

Visited for breakfast with family. We sat inside, which had plenty of open tables inside, with some outside on the patio.

Service was quick, and our order arrived faster than expected. All tasted fresh and order was accurate. A single pancake was massive and more than enough for the kiddos. I ordered the chislic & eggs, which I thought was a touch light on the meet given the price but still within reason, especially given general increases across all restraunts, so no 'issue' overall. The steak was advertised as being marinated, which I believe was teriyaki. I'm not a personal fan of teriyaki, preferring on beef jerky vs. steak, but it wasn't overpowering.

Bathrooms were in good shape and clean, and the place overall seemed well maintained.

Otherwise, do give them bonus points for proximity to the waterfall. If you're willing to take a short walk on the trail, its right behind the restaurant. Made for a great experience after our breakfast.

Such a stunning and beautiful view! One of the best restaurants in the state of South Dakota, in my opinion! The service is great! The hospitality is on point! The menu variety is perfect! And I feel like this restaurant is always busy every time I go here, which is a good sign! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone especially tourists! It’s such a beautiful, drive to take too, to get to the restaurant! Located in the middle of Spearfish Canyon!

Very good food, from the dinner rolls to dessert. My ribeye was good but average.
The dessert was lights out! Cheesecake was great but the bread pudding is a show stopper! Well worth the drive. Wonderful staff!

Wonderful food and great attentive service. To top it all beautiful window views of Spearfish Canyon. Cinnamon rolls as big as a plate!

We stopped by after a long road trip and a few hikes.. the atmosphere was great and the food was delicious. They also have the nicest staff :)

We had the most amazing experience tonight. The atmosphere was beautiful with the Christmas lights up. The food was top notch. And our sever Joseph completed the meal perfectly with his attention to us, suggestions, and personality. Excellent meal and experience!

Great food and outdoor seating with a view. We enjoyed the truffled beef fries and Tuscan chicken melt. Great lunch experience.

Absolutely amazing restaurant! The building is very neat inside and out. The food is very delicious and filling. I would definitely recommend the garlic cheese curds and the Buffalo bread bowl. The employees are very friendly and kind. They have an amazing view from their windows with really cool animal mounts in the building.

Enjoyed an absolutely fabulous dinner on Cinco de Mayo. We started with an appetizer of Chile queso Flameado. For the entree we had the Polenta Birra Tamales. Everything was so flavorful and unique.
Our service exceeded our expectations and the ambiance is 10 out of 10. Such an enjoyable experience. We will be back soon.

A wonderful place in Spearfish Canyon.

Great views, great service, great food, and especiallly - fantastic cinnamon rolls. Bring your appetite, and sit back and relax!

Had lunch there today. Ate Buffalo Stew, Rainbow trout, and Decadent chocolate cake.. and best French fries I’ve ever had! Just delicious, and our server, Kristin, was so congenial and helpful. Highly recommend !!

The Sunday breakfast buffet was amazing! Beautiful atmosphere indoors & out, great service and reasonably priced.

Food and atmosphere were so nice and relaxing. Ava was a phenomenal server!
