Spearfish Canyon Lodge

Beautiful hotel in an even more beautiful location! I have been coming to Spearfish Canyon my whole life and still think it is one of the most amazing places. Staying at the lodge makes it even better when you can wake up right in the beauty.

My husband and I have been staying at Spearfish Canyon Lodge since 2011. We absolutely love it you can’t beat the location. The staff is great and we love Susan she always has a warm smile to share and is so helpful kind and friendly.
I love the new updates in the rooms the comforter it looks like a cabin. Very cute. The towel racks yes I noticed all of these details 😘 I love the little basket with the shampoo and conditioner. Be sure to pick some up for your own home in the gift shop they sell it there. Also, the little make up remover on the vanity are a nice touch.
An improvement that I would love to see is getting new pillows when you have a king size bed make sure they are king size pillows, along with smaller that would be awesome.
And would love to be contacted to share a few other things. We have brought so many guest, friends and family to stay here. It feels like home! 🏡

We went on several hikes near Spearfish Canyon Lodge and decided to stop in with friends for a beverage. The bartender Emily was absolutely attentive and amazing! She made fun beautiful drinks. We were also super happy that they’re pet friendly and our puppy Romeo was able to join us. We’ll definitely be back!

One of the best vacation destinations I've been to especially for the price. Beautiful serene quiet area not too far from many destinations to explore. Clean rooms and facilities. Helpful room service staff as well as very friendly and helpful front desk on both morning and night shifts. Emily is a true bartender with passion for her art. She made some of the best drinks I've seen professionally in a long time. On site restaurant had amazing food and there were plenty of rentals such as snow mobiles to keep you occupied, as well as hiking trails and a beautiful creek. We cannot wait to come back when we can stay longer in the area.

We stayed at the lodge for one night. It was a lovely stay in an absolutely beautiful location. The next morning we did a half-day UTV tour. This was our first experience driving a UTV…and wow, I’m not sure we’ll ever top it!!! Three of us took out a 4-seater without a guide — the new machine had GPS navigation, so we never felt concerned about getting lost. There were abundant trails and the scenery was fantastic. I can very easily see us coming back to do this again!

All the staff was wonderful. Our room was beautiful! We will definitely be back! This was by far our best vacation yet.

We had a girls weekend in SD and couldn't reccomend this place more! From the front desk, to the bar, to the resturant, they had phenomenal staff! They were so welcoming and caring, we felt right at home! Latchstring had the most delicious food and beautiful views! There were so many things to do, we will definitely be back!

We have never been here before. We met the most amazing bartender named Emily!! Her personality is so great! her smile, her affection, her personality, her heart, her everything. She makes you want to come back because she is spectacular! Great hospitality! And I recommend very highly for anybody to go to Spearfish Canyon Lodge, and meet the most amazing bartender! She can make you anything your heart desires.

Joelle, Susie and Murphy are fantastic, wonderful hostesses and at a top notch homey beautiful lodge! The massive 40 foot high fireplace and natural massive wood planks adorning an octagonal great room makes for a wonderful Black Hills welcome

This beautiful gem is nestled away in the Spearfish Canyon. The rooms are clean and comfortable, though they will soon need refreshing as previous repairs are Nevin more obvious. The staff we encountered were awesome; skillfully assisting us in any situation. The Latchstring Restaurant is just across the highway. All the food we sampled was superb, though it comes at a price being in a remote location. The Jumbo Pancakes are killer. I ordered 2 when I only needed one. We hope to return one day.

The rooms are a little dated but that's only comparing them to brand new hotels, they felt clean and that is a big deal. The beds however seemed like they needed replacement. I will reserve further judgement on the beds for now pending future stays. The service was great and the staff were friendly! The location is absolutely stunning as all I had to do was step outside! Do yourself a favor if you're able and take a hike on one of the many trails. Sit outside and enjoy as much silence as you can (for the location) and listen to the creek running near by. Check out the falls and enjoy a relaxing stay! I plan on returning!!!

Our son was recently married at this Lodge. When I questioned him about various details— he responded the Lodge takes care of that! and they did! so many details taken care of so we as the family enjoyed our weekend vs doing tasks. The beautiful setting, warm atmosphere, great food and fun people working there made all a most memorable time! We would like to do this wedding again for the ease and fun we had. Stayed in the cabin. Everything was great except the Internet dropped. I reported it but didn't seem to take a note of it. Great location. Small but nice bedrooms. Nice kitchen and LR area with Gas fireplace.

Great place, rooms were clean and the staff was very welcoming and polite. Two hot tubs outside on the deck were well taken care of. Highly recommend Spearfish Canyon Lodge!

Spent an incredible afternoon at the bar with EMILY!! Makes incredible drinks! Couldn't be any friendlier! This establishment is Soooooo lucky to have this girl!!!

Love this place nestled in the heart to Spearfish Canyon and has that nice old-timey feel it's very historic the staff is super nice and I really like my old fashioned drinks at the bar

Great lodge with a beautiful lobby with a huge wood burning fire place. Our room was just down from outdoor hot tubs with a great view. We loved that waterfall hikes were just steps from the lodge too.

Have stayed here 3 times. It has a restaurant across the road. Scenery is gorgeous.

I had an amazing time staying there for my birthday night. We snowmobiled on the property during the day then stayed at the lodge that night and it was sublime 👌🏽. Would definitely recommend and would go back in a heartbeat. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable. I was so enamored with the place that I honestly didn't take enough pictures. The room had a microwave, fridge and lovely fireplace.
