Union Reservoir East Campground

Heaven on earth with first come first serve camping no reservations. Which is a miracle in this time when people are online six months and a day prior to the time they can go camping. If you can get there by Thursday you can usually camp for the whole weekend no problem. If possible I prefer a weekday camping when there are fewer people around in the summer.

Nice camping, no water. Bring your own. Great time kayaking.

Beautiful reservoir. Awesome camping spots and day use areas. Camping is only $16 per night per site. 6 people per site allowed. Dogs must be leashed. Handful of sites that will fit some RVs that aren't over 25ft. Most sites are sized better for tents.

One of my favorite places in CA. Campsites are farther apart than many other campgrounds.

Great camping, very few mosquitos right on the reservoir because there are so many fish. Tons of collectable firewood all around, just can't cut down what's living. Camp people were great. Silent nights, very dark, no running water, nice fire pit sizes, dog-friendly, great walks around the reservoir. Only one pit toilet.

Absolutely beautiful clear water. You can see the bottom 15ft under your kayak. A return trip will be in the works.

A great place to meet friends and relax away from the city. Rowed the lake a lot, saw the beautiful lillies, trees, rock formations and meteors. Can't beat that anywhere.
