Silver Valley Trailhead

The Duck Lake loop out of this trailhead is easy to moderate. After a shallow climb, you descend into the Duck Lake valley. The only part that is a bit strenuous is the 560 ft ascent coming back from the lake toward Silver Valley Campground. The trail surrounds Duck Lake, under mostly evergreen trees. To get to the lake shore, you have to stray a bit from the trail. The whole loop can easily be done in a couple of hours, or you can explore, meander, and dilly dally there all afternoon. You may also continue the trail up the valley and down into the Stanislaus River for a much longer hike.

A beautiful area for family camping, hiking, and fishing! Easy trails to hike as well as less traffic than the Hwy 50, 88, and 80 corridors!

This trail will lead you into the Carson Iceberg Wildneress and has a few different trails: Emigrant Trail, Rock Lake, and Duck Lake being the main trail. Not to difficult or that steep of terrain.
