The Kimball at Temple Square

Very clean and homey inn. Welcoming front desk, responsive communication and many amenities in a safe quiet location downtown. We really enjoyed the sofa and TV accessibility. Very short walk to downtown. We had a corner unit studio and the kitchen was clean and it even had pots to use along with a microwave, mini fridge, stove top, sink and dishwasher.

I’ve been reluctant to post this review bc the selfish part of me wants it to remain a hidden gem. By far the most peaceful, quiet, and affordable lodging we’ve had the pleasure of staying at! Bear in mind however, such is the case bc it’s primarily for adults (and perhaps quiet, content kids). No pool or HT; but a nicely appointed fitness center, ice and vending machines, and a coffee/social lounge.
CS was great. Our room was very spacious, clean, super quiet (literally never heard a sound), fully stocked kitchen, cozy furnishings and tasteful accoutrements.
Location is perfect bc it’s downtown, but off the beaten path so no worries of riffraff. LDS (Mormon) Church security rather pleasant and professional if you’re fortunate enough to encounter them.
We absolutely look forward to returning here!!

I had a great experience at The Kimball at Temple Square. The front desk folks were excellent and extremely helpful. I had a two bedroom suite. It was more than enough. I was attending a conference at the convention center which was about 0.8 miles away. I walked the route numerous times during my week's stay. It was also close enough to City Creek, the downtown shopping and eatery area. I highly recommend this establishment.

This place was nice. I had a good experience staying here. It was walking distance to a lot of awesome attractions. It's a Beautiful area as well.

We have stayed many times. The location can’t be beat for downtown Salt Lake. I love the kitchen area and we’ve always had a spacious room. We have never been bothered by noise from other rooms.

Perfect place to visit downtown Salt Lake City. Walking distance to the Palace convention center, the shopping center, Temple Square, FamilySearch Center and Starbucks. Plus they have parking.

This is such a clean and beautiful place to stay! The jacuzzi tub was so nice in its own room, separate from the bedroom and bathroom, which also had a double-headed shower! It was phenomenal! We stayed here with friends whose family own a time-share here. The only thing that bumped it down a little for me was that I slept on the fold-out bed and it was terribly lumpy and uncomfortable. The room also had a odd sort of clean smell when we arrived. However, the facilities were very nice and the selection of movies was great. We had such a nice time!!

It was TOTALLY amazing!! The unit we stayed in was very spacious!! You can tell the units are kept emaculatly clean!! The Kimball is far enough away from all the noise and traffic but close enough to where we needed to go!! IT'S easy to get to and easy to get out of!! I will stay there anytime I have to stay in SALT LAKE CITY UTAH

We stayed here for Valentine's day weekend. We had the 2- bedroom. It was very pleasant! Very quiet, with a nice location right across the street from the temple. It's not your standard hotel, as they are mainly timeshare condominiums, so don't expect daily room service. But it was a very lovely getaway for the weekend!

The history of this building is very interesting. Being an Utah resident now, but a history major originally from Michigan, I appreciated that there was a book in the room that gave a rundown of the Kimball's significant role in the early pioneer days.

There is a small cemetery plot located on the grounds, which is worth checking out if you are a history buff like myself.

It is also worth mentioning, that they have a sauna and coffee lounge, but those are currently unavailable (feb 2021) due to the coronavirus pandemic.

We have a studio room and it's just the right fit for us. Friendly staff and a smooth, easy check in. The Kimball is the perfect spot to stay between each of our adventures!

Some might have complained it is too cold, or too old, or too moldy...I think it is beautiful, comfortable, the heater can be turned on when you get there, and it is so very close to many other things...love the restroom...love the kitchen with all utensils needed to prepare my food...love the washers and dryers, extra towels, loved it, enjoyed it. Body lotion and shampoo/conditioner could use and upgrade but they all were free so why complain? If anything I can bring my own stuff.
This place was quiet, comfortable, beautiful, cozy, smelled nice, was perfectly clean and organized and most importantly made me feel I could call it my home.

Incredible location if your interest is the Temple! Nice little older kitchenette studio. Don't expect a modern hotel or 24 hour desk, but is just what we needed just where we needed it! Good wifi. Will be our first choice for future Temple visits.

Although interior is a bit worn, I’ve stayed a couple times now and like the location in downtown, folks running the hotel are nice.

A great place to stay one night or several nights. The building is not new and stylish, but classic and quaint with plenty of character and charm. The staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay. The location near Temple Square is excellent and parking is free when staying.

The Kimball has the most awesome staff I have ever met. The rooms are cozy and clean. The rates are quite low for such high standard accommodations. I will never stay at another hotel while I'm in salt lake. 5 Stars to the BEST HOTEL EVER

Lovely place to stay. Very close to Temple Square.

These are large fully appointed suites that have all the necessities for daily living. It definitely shows its age, but the rooms are clean and the staff are friendly and accommodating. The prime location just next door to temple square is the draw for our family.

Very ol' style beautiful design and environment. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Rooms were a good size for a couple. Perfect location to check out the city including Temple Square and the mall. Would highly recommend just for the location alone.

I loved their customer service. I arrived in SLC around 10ish and check in time is 3 pm. However, I had an early check in though it was never guaranteed and for this am grateful. It is also strategically located within walkable distance to visit epic places in Salt Lake. The rooms are pretty clean with a mini kitchen.
