It's not every day that you get to or want to be treated in the emergency room of the hospital you work at. Being non-clinical and very new to CHN, I hear about the great things our clinicians do. My mother was treated this evening at CHN St. Joseph's Emergemcy Room and I witnessed first hand the compassion, care, and judgment free place of care this place truly is. No one new that I work there . It wasn't just my mother I saw get outstanding care, it was everyone. The entire department staff was in good spirits, positive energy, and laughter. It was amazing to see these individuals put the needs of each patient first, even when it was busy. To Nurse Pam who took care of my mom and to John who took her vitals, we joked and laughed, the enteractions were great. And to PA Desiree Williams who I witnessed taking her time to trulyblisten to her patients with the utmost thoughtfulness, And the rest that I didn't catch their names - you all are amazing!! Nilo has an ah-mazing department that he can rest assured are fabulous!!Thank you all for making our experience a great one.

I was honestly shocked to see the reviews on here. I have always had a pleasant experience at this ER. My husband got in a car accident a year ago and everyone was super attentive and caring towards him.
I also went a few days ago for pain on my side and the whole experience took less than 5 hours. The entire staff that I interacted with were amazing. Great manners, worked quickly to get me pain meds, took my complaints seriously. They were bringing people food when asked, blankets. I am very grateful for them.

I went to the ER on a Sunday night as 3 helicopters had just left the last patient. I was attended to in a professional and caring manner and kept out of the fray as there literally was no room at the Inn. I received medication, microbiology testing and chest xray. The doctor was very reassuring and did not order every test known to man. I appreciate this after working 10 years in a radiology department next to an ER. Thank you Dr. D. Morris for getting it done on a very busy night.

I had a cardiac event right after Labor Day that I didn't know at the time was the issue. I made an appointment online and drove myself with my husband to the ER. I didn't have to wait for my time when I was taken back. I can't remember much but I do remember how quickly my needs addressed. I do remember being told I was very serious and that it was a good thing I got there when I did. They spent the next several hours stabilizing me and I felt a lot better than I had for days. Later I would find out just how close I came to major heart attack but for their quick action. I have always been someone who's taken someone to the ER not been on the bed so I can say they did a great job.

I swore I broke my thumb. The ER took me instantly after going to 2 Urgent care places that wanted copay up front, seriously, I don't usually have $30 to spend. The ER at St Mary's was more than exceptional. They went pretty much high tech and had no gurneys lined up all over. Xray came to me, admissions came to me there was a steady stream of computers on wheels doing very good treatment. When it was over I had just severely traumatized my thumb and it was going to be OK. Peace of mind. They gave me an awesome ice bag and I followed directions and got better.
Billing on the other hand has me paying $60 twice cause they don't understand how to bill :-I

I have underlying issues that have caused me to use Emergency Rooms several times. I've used TMC, University Medical Center, and St. Joe's. Out of the three, St. Joe's is at the top of the list. All ER's in this city are slow as far as wait times. When I went to St. Joe's for the first time I knew I would not be using the other ER's here in town. They treated me with dignity and respect. My issues were all addressed in a timely manner. The staff is A+. On another note, this hospital does not ask for your money or insurance right away so the poor, under insured, or well insured are all treated the same as a patient should be. They turn away none. They have a high volume of patients because of this. They do offer a pre check in online for those who wish to wait at home. This is our community hospital of choice.

I had a great experience here. Sure, I was there most of the day, but that's to be expected if there's a lot of traffic. The staff - nurses, the doctor, orderlies - were all kind, informative, and professional. I'll go back if I need an ER again.

My husband had a Heart catheter procedure done last week (August 29, 2018) and everything was top notch care! We are originally from Las Vegas and moved here in March. Trust me when I say that the care does not compare with Las Vegas Hospitals. From check in to check out, five stars in care.

Thanks ER team, surgery team, anesthesia team, PT /OTteam, and all the nurses /nurse techs that helped me after my rock climbing accident/broken leg. You guys were all compassionate , helpful , caring, prompt and helped me feel safe amidst covid deal. Thanks Dr. Timothy Dixon for coming in late at night to do my fracture repair! He was informative, kind, caring, friendly, and followed up post op. I appreciate all of you guys very much.
The only constructive feedback I have is to make discharges less automated and better detailed to the patient (some
Discontinued meds still on there, some meds not on there, no specific Written instructions for bandage removal/incision site, etc
overall appreciate everything !
Thank you.

Went in for treatment for a nasty mountain bike crash, ultimately received 10 stitches. The wait was a bit long, not enough staff very early on a Monday morning, but the service was just fine, all staff were polite, efficient, and professional. The staff were genuinely concerned and caring, I experienced none of the negative of the other reviewers. I attribute a lot of the slow wait for treatment to many people in ER that really didn't appear to be there for an emergency. While I was there a heat stroke patient came in as well as a motorcycle accident patient, I certainly can't complain about them receiving more immediate care. Thank you St. Joseph's.

There was a problem with some prescriptions for my wife due to a holiday and they went out of their way to aid me in getting my wife's prescriptions to an open pharmacy. It was a long process because it was the emergency room during a holiday but they did get it done.

Wait time was a bit longer than anticipated, bit the nurses and doctor were very attentive and hospitable.
