Osteria Italian Seafood

I have absolutely nothing but positive things to say about Osteria Italian Seafood. In a time when I’ve surfed a wave of negative dining experiences, both in sub-par service and less-than-desirable food quality, it was so refreshing to be able to write a glowing review of one of Louisville’s newer restaurants.

The moment we entered the establishment, we were promptly greeted and ushered to our table. Our server for the evening, Chrissy, was absolutely phenomenal. Not only was she friendly and pleasant, she was also very knowledgeable and informative about the menu options. Her service throughout the meal was an A+, and the support staff was just as good. Drinks were refilled before they were empty, and the meal service moved at an appropriate pace. Even the manager stopped by our table just to check on us and see if we needed anything.

We started with the Garlic Herb Monkey Bread, which was a hot, soft, and delightful pull-apart treat, and more than enough for the table. The wedge salad was fresh and a generous amount, served with a creamy buttermilk dressing. Some of the entrees ordered were the Mushroom Alfredo Rigatoni, to which I added shrimp, and the Lasagna Rotolo. Both were prepared to perfection, and were served with Italian bread. There were several desserts that I would have loved to sample, but we just couldn’t eat another bite.

Overall, an incredible experience, and we’ll definitely be back.

Had reservation but showed up 15min early thinking I would have to wait a little. Instantly greeted with friendly staff and was seated literally immediately. Started off with the Lobster Sliders (I'm picky on lobster rolls since I'm more of a crab person) these were without a doubt the best I've ever had. I would have been please ordering 2 sets just as a meal there were perfection.
Wife ordered a bowl of the Lobster Bisque. Creamy, flavorful, full off chunks of lobster, and the pastry on top was a nice addition.
Wife's entree was Mushroom Alfredo Rigatoni. Great portion size, creamy, rich and flavorful. Her only issue was there were a couple mushroom stems that were too tough to eat.
I ordered Osteria Cioppino Fettuccine. Rich thick sauce, great ratio of spice, and loaded with seafood on top of fresh made fettuccine. I loved every bit of it.
Finished off with Peanut Butter Creme Brulee the crunch on top was flawless, the smooth peanut butter flavor was surprisingly great, but the chocolate truffle center for us was very strong (were not huge on chocolate) but still tasted nice in small nibbles
Croissant Bread Pudding. For a bread pudding this was the best I've had and the ice cream on top was a great additive to the treat.
To end the night we will 100% be back, everybody was friendly, tentative, and the food was fantastic and well priced. I will without a doubt drive 40min any day for these lobster sliders

Went tonight and was absolutely amazing! Have been looking forward to finally trying couple things here. I did my research and picked out Osteria Cioppino Fettuccine which was a great choice! The appetizers were also amazing along with the wine. Tried all the oysters & the best I've had in Louisville ❤ honestly I can’t wait for my next experience here!. Atmosphere was calm & service was great!

Vicki took care of us - bartending & serving. She was phenomenal. Service, food, & drinks are consistently top notch but she was so engaging & lovely. I didn’t think a single person could top the quality of our courses but she absolutely stood out. Don’t miss out on Osteria. It’s an absolute gem.

Finally, was able to have my 1st experience of The Feast of Seven Fishes and, on my 70th Birthday to boot 🥳 And, it did not disappoint. Each dish was executed with perfection. The Shrimp, Clams, Halibut, the spectacular Creme Brulee', plus the add'nl special Birthday nod, simply AMAZING. Service was exemplary as well. Thank you for fulfilling a epicurean dream come true. 💜😋

Let's start at the beginning. Gorgeous restaurant. Tables aren't set up with intimacy in mind though. My husband's drink was perfect. My maple bourbon drink tasted like bourbon only. No other flavors noted. We were offered free champagne for our celebration which was a nice touch. Calamari was pretty standard though I loved the lemon aoli with it. My special of the day Sea Bass was incredible. My husband's salmon was good, perfectly cooked. This will be unpopular opinion but I thought the lobster bisque was gross. It tasted like melted cheese with a few lobster pieces thrown in. Not bisque at all. I do tend to be a bit critical since I lived in Boston once. But I couldn't eat it. Overall though fantastic restaurant. Especially seafood in a location far from any sea. Well done.

The server did an amazing job. Cheerful, patient, provided a lot of information about the menu and daily options. Surprisingly large amounts of seafood on the Osteria Fettuccine. Everyone enjoyed their meals. We got there at 5:45 so we got wine by the glass at half price before 6. Wednesday at 6 pm they were busy. For dessert, Our table of 6 split the cookies order and they were a hit. Warm, chewy and delicious.

Osteria Italian Seafood is located in the former Nappa Grill restaurant location in Westport Village. The lobster bisque and shrimp scampi, spaghetti von convole, and cannelloni were presented elegantly and all made for a wonderful dining experience.

Absolutely amazing ambience! The service was impeccable and the food was beyond delicious! We came to celebrate my husband's birthday and will definitely be back for another date night! The porchetta, shrimp fra diavalo, lobster bisque, and garlic monkey bread were perfect!

Loved the Osteria salad & puffed pastry tomato basil soup ! Delicious! Love the blue decor in the restaurant!

Absolutely phenomenal food. Passed on the filet, very unusual, but glad I did. I got their version of lasagna. It was SOOOO good. I would definitely go back and plan too.

Wonderful dinner at Osteria from the appetizers to soup and main course. Most enjoyable dining experience in recent memory. Decor is lovely and welcoming. Service was excellent. We will be returning soon!

We went for Mother's Day. We had the seafood buffet and Chrissy was our server. Everyone there was so kind. The food was good, the service was outstanding and the atmosphere was absolutely wonderful! Will definitely go back- and ask for Chrissy!

Great time at Osteria Italian Seafood!! Chef Justin Cruz personalized our experience and provided top tier service. The lobster bisque was wonderfully unique! I also enjoyed the scallop and lobster risotto. Overall lovey time; we had a fabulous date night!! 🥂🦞🍾❤✨

It was absolutely delicious. The oysters were fresh but small. I would have preferred a different mignonette but the one they had worked. Trust me about the oysters, I am an oyster connoisseur. Any upscale dining restaurant I go to I have to have oysters. I would get these again. The Caprese salad was perfect..the balsamic caviar balls were superb! Both of the main entrees were to die for. I had scallops with bacon jam, cheesy risotto and lobster. My scallops were fresh with the perfect amount of bacon jam for sweetness. My friend got the Shrimp Diablo(sp) and the shrimp were very meaty. It was served with polenta and I had never had polenta and it was good. My only criticism is that the Chef/Owner greeted everybody’s table but ours.

A new restaurant serving seafood, and I am digging it!

We visited for happy hour and left pleasantly surprised! Swift service, beautiful and plating. Zero complaints for their second day open!

The Lobster Roll tasted like delicious plump high quality Lobster, instead of mayonnaise and other products used to water down lobster/crab dishes. Chesapeake Oysters were $3 a pop. Not bad.

Happy hour is a steal and a great inexpensive option for folks unable to afford the entree pricing. It's also great for people who normally eat bar food but won't agree to visiting the restaurant, bring them to the outside bar and convert them!

The outside bar is where we sat, and I highly recommend the laid-back vibe.

I am looking forward to visiting next weekend for the full restaurant experience!

My wife and I love the food, service, and atmosphere. Great food for a nice night out with family and friends.

We had a great xmas eve dinner food was great and nice atmosphere. Our server did a great job too. Great menu!

Loved this place! Visited for a friend's birthday and sat outside on the patio in March because it was very warm!
We ordered the ahi tuna wontons to share, and they were fantastic! I also got a cup of their lobster bisque, and I have to say it was better than some of the lobster bisque's I have eaten in Maine!
As my main, I ordered the mushroom Alfredo rigatoni and it was good, but could've been more Alfredo-y. The other members of my party got the special which was a shrimp dish and loved it, and the other got the gnocchi and said it was okay because it didn't taste like the gnocchi he was used to.
We ordered dessert too and they were yummy!
Would return when I am back in the area!

Judy & Trevor helped us navigate the menu and made wonderful suggestions! The lobster bisque was fantastic, the lobster slider was excellent and the chicken lettuce wraps were delicious! Great bourbon and wine selections- wonderful service, ambiance and location - thank u!!
