Cute, perfectly located historic hotel. Mark, the veteran front desk manager, is incredibly kind and spreads positive vibes. We came here after staying at a top five-star luxury hotel and loved it. Check-in was so easy. Parking was right across the street. So many food options within a block. Rooms are more antique due to it being a historic hotel, but the bathroom is renovated with a "marble" design.

We spent 5 lovely days here at this hotel in the heart of Lahaina. Charming old style, beautiful interior courtyard and rocking chairs on the balconies. The rooms have everything you need. The pool would not hurt a renovation, but since the ocean is right outside the door, this does not bother.

The BW Pioneer hotel is close to everything: in the middle of downtown, restaurants, minutes to the Old Lahaina Luau, museum, the HUGE Banyan tree and the ferry is right across the road. Check in was great- staff personable, and helpful. We stayed there for 2 nights in a twin room. The bed was very comfortable. AC was very much appreciated during the hot weather. PARKING- was free and across the road- THANK YOU for not charging extra for parking!! I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here longer the next time I visit Maui!!!

Great 1 or 2 night stay. You are walking distance to everything. The pool is calming and a place to cool down in the afternoon heat. The front office staff was one of the best parts. Very friendly. Small rooms but has all the vintage charm of 1902. Not luxury but calm and peaceful. I love historic hotels.

Really great service from the staff. Absolutely fantastic atmosphere. The rooms are modest but well appointed, the lanais are perfect and you absolutely cannot beat the location for walkability!

If resorts are not your thing then this is definitely the place to go (i.e. no screaming children). It's got what you need, comfortable beds, clean bathrooms, coffee, and it's close to so many great restaurants and shops. They do apparently have an excellent chef in the restaurant but we didn't have a chance to eat there, though it smelled good and was always busy. Maybe next time we'll stop in!

What a beautiful historic Inn! We checked in for our 5 nights stay here during our visit to Maui and we were so graciously welcomed by Kiley. She explained the parking process to us (yes they do offer free parking!) and also all the hotel amenities and went over the map of the hotel as well as nearby restaurants and shops. Everyone at the front desk is so friendly and welcoming. The room comes with a lanai (a balcony) with two rocking chairs and a table. Rooms are clean and decent sized. They also offer room service upon request. The hotel is so conveniently located on Front Street that you can pretty much walk to most restaurants and beaches around. Their courtyard is just so dreamy and they also have an in-house talking parrot named Alex. Will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in West Maui on their trip.

Love this historic hotel. Staff is exceptional & location is perfect. Room was not fancy, but updated and very clean. AC is a MUST for us, and it worked perfectly!! We have stayed at high-end resorts up the coast at Kaanapali, which are beautiful, but we prefer staying here for the location, cost and experience. We didn't need a car, so that saved a ton of money. Can't wait to return!

Lovely hotel plenty of character being the oldest in Hawaii. Comfortable beds in nice rooms, brilliant location near shops, restaurants and harbour where you do alot of sea tours. Perfect for day trips to Lanai and easy walking distance to baby beach. Baby beach is great for Snorkeling, spotting sea turtles and great for kids. I highly recommend staying at the Pioneer inn Lahaina. Staff are helpful and friendly especially the wee lassie Kiley she was lovely and super tentive. Enjoyed my stay here and would love to return and stay here agian thankyou to all staff at the Pioneer inn from Steven and Jacqui☺

Fantastic historical hotel for those that like boutique style stays. Super comfy beds. Right next to the banyan tree. Delicious restaurant downstairs. The pool is a bit cold but we preferred the beach a few blocks away. Our favorite was the lanai with rocking chairs. We traveled with our son and the fold out mini bed worked just fine. Great AC too ad nice bathroom. We loved it.

Located right in the heart of downtown Lahaina this Hotel is truly a historical piece of Maui history. The upgraded rooms were clean, ACs work great and got the job done for a comfortable stay. The pool was clean and inviting. They provide local parking and once here there is plenty of shops and restaurants to walk to. The strip is quite busy with people and vehicle traffic providing lots of people watching from our lanai (porch). It can be a bit loud for those looking to sleep in but for the early birds its perfect. Convenience stores right downstairs to fill your snack and beverage needs. Bar and restaurant located on property. Decently priced we enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this for those looking to be right in the mix.

Nice old hotel, clean rooms, right in the heart of Lahina. I love this hotel because it's been there forever and it's location is great! You can go out for a few drinks and not have to worry about driving. Rooms are a little small but the charm makes up for it. It seems to have stayed the same for a hundred years. Outside facing rooms have decks facing the street which is great for people watching. Bar/ restaurant downstairs. This is the real Hawaii not as phony as Kanapali!

Wonderful 8 night stay, very vintage boutique style hotel but kept in excellent shape and super clean. Desk staff were all very kind, helpfull and always smiling with positive vibes!! Only bit it of a down side was listening to our neighbours snore and cough walls are very thin..lol BUT hey it is what it is because the rest was super!! The hotel coffee/ breakfast shop we found very pricey for what we got so instead we went to "down the hatch" (just across the street in the plaza) every morning for amazing food, good value and live music. Location of the hotel is perfect we walked everywhere, did have a rental and the free parking was great!! Mahalo to everyone at the pioneer inn see ya'll again!! :)

Stayed here in 2017. Smallish rooms but so quaint and nice and quiet. Right in the old section of Lahaina. Wonderful balcony right off the room. Spent many happy moments on that balcony with a drink and reading or people watching. Happy hour in the open air restaurant every evening and the food was delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Prime location in the heart of Lahaina town. The hotel is charmingly historic and I love the open air courtyard. Our room was clean and comfortable, and so was the bed. The balcony had prime views of the Banyan courtyard, the mountains, and the ocean. It sis get loud at Cool Cat's across the street at night and my boyfriend had trouble falling asleep.

My wife and I were waiting for a shuttle. We interacted with Sam and the general manager, Mark. They were both very accommodating and pleasant to talk to, allowing us to wait in their lobby without any hesitation. The place was clean and well maintained for the age of the hotel.

The staff here go way beyond any expectations. Even though we got there 6hr before we could use all the services. You get free car parking on the sites says you have to pay.
This place is old but in the centre of the town and everything def would recommend it if you want more than 3 star don't come but has fridge coffee facility and your only here to sleep love the rocking chairs on verhandahs all around I like front street view better than beach side actually thanks to such beautiful staff that made us feel really welcome from the moment we walked in the door

Location is excellent. Charm abounds. Big lanais, good for people watching or relaxing across from the banyan tree. Rooms are good size. A/C works well if a little noisy. Cute pool and courtyard too, and restaurant has a good breakfast and happy hour. This is not a luxurious generic resort - it's fun and it's reasonably priced. And staff including the manager are very helpful and have a lot of aloha.

Very nice historical building with pleasant outdoor areas. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable and clean. Location is fabulous. Right in the heart of Lahaina. Walk to activities, parks, restaurants. We stayed in Room 19. Fabulous views from most of the rooms, your own lanai with 2 Rocking chairs and a small round table. Both views of the ocean and town. My husband and I spent a good amount of time on the lanai having wine before dinner people watching. Staff was very pleasant and helpful. One drawback if you are sensitive to street noise this probably would not be for you. That being said we would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in the heart of Lahaina, ask for an outward facing room where you will have views of the mountains, main street and ocean. Highly recommend this hotel, each room has a balcony with rocking chairs and table, very quaint hotel..

Great 7-night stay at the Pioneer Inn. Staff was efficient and neighboring travelers were polite. Everything is within walking distance, the grounds are kept clean (COVID-19 precautions are closely managed), and the housekeeping services are excellent. At night it does get quite loud, I wouldn't advise those looking for a peaceful stay to book here; it's perfect for younger couples or families with kids/teenagers, as they do have a pool and restaurant in-house. Overall, save money and book here! Worth every penny.!
