UVA Imaging - Zion Crossroads

I had medical procedures done at this location many times. I have always found the staff friendly and professional. Today, 2/15/24, I had Carmen as my technologist and Dan as my nurse. Dan was very professional and did the necessary injections causing me no pain. Carmen was extremely friendly and did everything she could to make me as comfortable as possible. I would not hesitate to recommend these two professionals. Happy birthday Carmen!

Getting an ultrasound is never fun but the tech Mikki made it the best experience possible. She was gentle and kind and even offered a snack after everything was finished. If you have to get this done, I highly recommend coming here before anywhere else.

Although the level of care may have degraded in other healthcare systems, UVA continues to strive for excellence. Every employee that I interacted with was absolutely amazing! Will continue to use this office as my first choice for diagnostic services!

This was the first ultrasound of my life and I was pretty nervous. Vivian at the front desk was kind and friendly when I arrived and for the procedure, tech Matt was overseeing studying tech Heba, respectfully making sure that was ok with me before we started. My nerves were gone very quickly because of the peaceful, calm vibe in the room and also their kindness, explanations and friendly casual conversation with me throughout. I was immediately put at ease and felt like I was a real person to them, not just a “patient” or another sack of organs needing probing in their busy day…and that means everything to me! I’m starting to see that this is typical of the UVA Health system way, and I am SO GLAD that I made the great choice to become a patient here. I just implicitly feel that I’m in great hands and that people care- which is an attitude that MUST be hard to maintain in the current climate of overwhelm and burnout among health care workers. I have not vibed even a *whiff* of grumpiness or apathy from anyone I’ve dealt with through UVA in recent weeks, which is kind of incredible and so very very appreciated.
I live in Louisa and having the Zion Crossing facility so close for lab/imaging/pharmacy/urgent care is a huge comfort and convenience. Super professional, super clean and new building/rooms…and all this out here in the sticks. Lucky us!

Easy access to interstate. Has fast food, gas stations, and restaraunts nearby. Parking lot was close to building and didn't have any trouble finding a space. Modern, clean facility. Restrooms are for individuals and large enough for a stroller or wheelchair to fit inside. Pleasant staff at registration and pleasant security guard. Imaging department was very efficient and organized and made sure I was taken care of from check in to check out.

Staff was very pleasant and quick with my 4 year old. Super sweet too!

VAL AND KADEE ONCE AGAIN WERE OUTSTANDING WHEN DEALING WITH MY NEEDS! EXPLANATIONS WERE VERY CLEAR AND MUCH APPRECIATED!

I had a standard, annual mammogram, no previous cancer history, nothing out of the ordinary. My "bridge" insurance coverage didn't cover the procedure. UVA Imaging charged me $1200.00 for the mammogram! $800+ for the imaging, $300+ for the radiologist assessment. Unbelievable. So many phone calls, nothing I could do but pay or, as they threatened, they would send any unpaid bills to collections. When I went back this year with Medicare coverage and mentioned what happened, they said the charges shouldn't have been more than $80 and they would look into it. At my visit, the manager was there who was "looking into it." This was 2 months ago, I haven't heard anything. Do not go to UVA imaging - they are a total self serving cash machine ripping off patients.

two weeks after having hip replacement at uva, my doctor’s office called in a sonogram order for to check and see if I had a blood clot in my leg after more than 24 hours of waiting I did not receive any calls to schedule the appointment and I went up to Zion and was told that they don’t except walkins for sonograms. They have no appointments. There’s nothing they can do to help me the order was put in, but apparently it was sitting on the schedulers desk, and not tagged in as a priority, which DVTs should be a priority so I had to reschedule and I can’t get an appointment until tomorrow which means I’ve been waiting almost 3 days to have it checked to see if I have a blood clot. That is absolutely unacceptable .

I normally wouldn’t write about this, but while the people who did my imaging were absolutely AMAZING, the girl Kaitlin who works at the front desk has a terrible attitude and is extremely rude for what reason I do not know. She was very condescending.
