My husband and I have been members of Canton First Baptist for 14 years. We know that this is where God would have us worship and serve our Lord and Savior. We are so proud to be members of a church that refuses to give in to the political correctness of our day. We know that when we enter God's house, we are going to hear a strong message that teaches God's truth that will be both encouraging and convicting. There is a special body of believers at my church home. The smiles, hugs and caring I feel when I walk in the door of our church makes it a very special place and I know the love of God is alive and well there. I love being in a place that wants to touch and serve the surrounding community and the world in any way we can and reach others with the message of God’s great love. I am extremely blessed to serve the children's ministry. It is so uplifting and fulfilling to watch the children learn and grow. It is also comforting to know that our church puts a priority on the safety and security of the children by doing background checks and having ongoing training for all the workers in our children's ministry. I am proud and blessed to be a member of Canton First Baptist in Canton Georgia and I can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do next!!

I like the messages that Pastor George has to relate to us straight from the Bible! None of the church light, make you feel good to go home and forget about what you heard at today's service. These are messages to motivate the congregation to have a deeper relationship with the Lord. I've been to all three services on Sunday morning and the message is the same for all three corporate worships. 8:15 is more a traditional service with music we all remember from the hymnals, 9:30 is an upbeat service with music represented from the modern day Christian stations (not "Contemporary") and 11:00 a blended service in its format that attracts all ages. Great place to broaden your faith and raise your kids!!! If you've not been invited, let this be your personal invitation to worship with us on Sunday morning then carry out the Great Commission through your work week!

This is the church I married my husband in. Pastor George did the ceremony and his gracious heart made it the most special day of my life. My 3 y o son goes to Mission Point Christian Academy and is growing into a man after God's heart. Pastor George was there when we dedicated our son to Christ. And although I have a weekend contract and cannot attend do to work, my husband and son have not missed a Sunday since my son was 6 months old. I've witnessed both of them grow spiritually. As a family we are Blessed to call First Baptist Church of Canton our home.

There are many things I love about my church family at First Baptist Canton. Here are a few: First, there is strong, unwavering adherence to the Word of God, in preaching, teaching and discipling. Second, there is a vision for sharing the love of Jesus Christ with our community, across town, across the country and around the world. Third, the fellowship found in Sunday School classes supports our family through rough seas and celebrates with us in times of great happiness. Fourth, our church is diverse in its styles of worship. Fifth, our church staff is dedicated and hard-working, always willing to help, visit, meet a need. I could go on and on. Suffice it to say no church is perfect, because it is filled with imperfect people (that would be all of us!). But, we love our First Baptist Canton church family!

Great place to Worship and connect with past church members. Also my family has made many new friends that will last a lifetime! Been going to First Baptist since 2004. Love the fact that church is conducted from the scripture and not based on peoples feelings. Keep up the good work!

My husband & I were looking for a church in which we could get the whole family involved. We went to a wonderful church but it was about 20 mins from us which & although we enjoyed our time there we were looking for a place where the members were from our community, a place where our 3 yr old could come have fun, be taught Bible-based lesson & make good friends, a place where we felt we could grow in Christ, enjoy the fellowship of other Christians and be an outreach to the community ~ at First Baptist Canton we have found all that and more!

We love spending time at the church, hearing messages from the pastor that are from the bible and getting to know other members. We have only been at FB Canton for a little under 2 yrs but we feel like we are part of a large family! We love knowing our daughter is excited to get to church and we appreciate the time and effort the entire staff at the church puts towards us. We love that the church is really trying to reach out to the community, has a passion towards missions, and wants to make an impact for Christ.

About 2 months ago, while on the way to work my car was struck by another car on the drivers side. Dazed from my head shattering the drivers side window. My shoulders, neck and spine injured as well. I managed to escape my car from the passenger side. While at the side of the road not knowing what's going on, a man appeared and talked me back to reality. That man was Brother George, Pastor of First Baptist of Canton. He helped me recapture my thoughts while the ambulance was on the way. That Sunday after being released from the hospital I visited the church to personally say thank you to Brother George. The feeling I got walking into the church was unlike anything I felt before. Everybody was ultra friendly from the parking lot to the last room in the house. Not only did I shake Brother Georges hand, but I wound up going the next 5 weeks before joining the church. The love and compassion felt here is unlike any other church I have been to. I have attended so many churches in various states, east and west coast, but never felt the will to join. There was no decision needed to be made in joining First Baptist of Canton. My heart made that choice for me. My wife felt the same exact way, which in our 10+ years together we were never able to agree on a church.
Join us and come in one Sunday, I promise you will feel the same way I did and not look back.

God is in this place. There are so many ways to get plugged in. So many opportunities to serve other people. The missions and outreach are at exciting levels. The pastoral staff are all servants. No pretentiousness - just hearts to help in any way possible. So thankful for this place. The Bible is preached every time the doors are open. No skipping the hard stuff. Truth straight from God's Word.

I was searching the web for First Baptist Canton to see if service times were changing for the last Sunday of the year. Then I came across these google reviews and decided to read. I was puzzled at the content of the negative review so I thought I would provide another perspective.

I regularly attend and have attended this church for 4 years and prior attended First Baptist Woodstock for 20+ years. We were looking for a smaller church closer to home when we first visited. I was surprised. My first thought was "how come I've never heard this guy preach?". After being under Johnny Hunt for years I'm thinking George Anderson is every bit as sound theologically. His messages come straight from scripture. As for line by line thoughts regarding the previous google review, here you go:

- "...castle, or should I say ski lodge". --- It does look like a lodge but not sure what the building looks like has anything to do with what's taught on the inside. It just has a contemporary look.
- "...filled with a smug arrogance that is devoid of any intellect or real Christian thought" --- The messages are based on specifically sited and quoted scripture, supported by the original Hebrew and Greek, and led by the Holy Spirit. If it's not in the bible and supported by the bible it's not preached. Man's intellect is foolishness to God. At least that's what 1 Corinthians 1:20 says.
- "...keep your hand on your wallet and don't expect any of the church family to be nice" --- No idea where this comes from. Pastor George speaks so little about the church budget that I sometimes wonder if I'm in a baptist church.
- "There has been more than one instance of his sermons consisting of a secular quote or book study with no scripture used whatsoever". --- Every message begins with a direct reading from scripture and then scripture is quoted throughout the message. Yes, he uses non-scriptural references as examples or to help clarify his point. However, I've never heard a pastor who didn't. Didn't Jesus use parables to help make His points?
- "...if you want to buy into the "fluff and stuff" gospel ...then this is the place for you" --- This place is so far from fluff and stuff that I'm wondering if this statement was meant to be a review for a different church.

After 4 years of attending First Baptist Church Canton, all I can say is you get it straight....warts and all. The people are just down to earth "what you see is what you get" type. No hidden agendas. No pomp and circumstance. I hope you come visit sometime and see for yourself.

We are grateful to be part of a church that's not giving in to the damaging liberal trends that are perverting Christianity all across America and the world today. Our pastor' conservative, Bible-based preaching is both convicting and encouraging. And, we are blessed to be teaching a young couples class where we see God's hand at work in these growing families.

We are very blessed to worship and serve as members of FBC Canton. From our first visit, there was a warm and welcoming fellowship of believers, both in our Sunday School class and in the congregation. The sermons and worship music both challenge us to spiritual growth and service.

Our family of 5 has attended FBC Canton for 15 years. We love it because our leader(s) are the real deal. Truth is preached here and that's all that matters. I would welcome and recommend ANYONE to visit us on a Sunday morning. If you are unsure about where you stand with God - come. If you think you're too messed up to attend church - come. If you think church is only for good people - come, because I can assure you there is no one perfect here. We will love and accept you for who you are today because Jesus IS THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE and we honor Him in this place. See you at FBC Canton this Sunday.

I have been a member at FBC for over 14 years, and from the first day, I have felt that it was where God wanted me to be. Over the years, it has not only been a source of strength and encouragement during difficult times, but has provided the opportunity for me to grow personally in faith and knowledge of God's Word through spirit-filled preaching, Sunday School, and Women's Bible Study. I love the way FBC reaches out to the community to help those in need and share the gospel with the lost. I believe FBC is truly a church that desires to fulfill the Great Commission through efforts locally as well as mission trips to many other countries. I feel blessed to be part of such a wonderful, loving church body.

Our family feels right at home at FBC Canton. We are part of a loving and fun small group class that feels like family. We enjoy picnics, Moms Night Out and serving opportunities in our local community. My daughter cannot wait to go to youth, choir and especially Pillars for girls. So many fun and exciting activities and genuinely caring youth workers. My toddler loves his Sunday school class and asks for his teachers by name! We began visiting FBC Canton through VBS and my children enjoyed it so much that we all began coming as a family. Very loving and mission minded church. Good solid Biblical church with the servant heart of Christ.

Welcome home to family. Scripture based messages, verse by verse. Come for the message, stay and attend Sunday School for the connections. It is evident and without dispute that all are welcome.
Has a traditional Hymn worship service, and awesome contemporary band lead worship service, and a blended band, orchestra, praise team and choir worship service. Sermon is the same in all services.

On my first visit I heard the bible clearly preached. I was greeted by at least a dozen individuals and later visited by some folks from an adult small group Sunday School class. I've since been given multiple opportunities to serve and plug in. A genuine New Testament local body of believers.

My family has been at FBC for many years. Over the years this has been a place where our family has been ministered to in times of need and we have had many opportunities to minister to others. My children attended Awanas, children's choir, youth choir, Sunday School, Pillars and Cornerstone over the years. FBC and the leadership that worked with my children have been an integral part of shaping the young adults they have become. I credit the solid foundation they received in the early years for the faithful followers of Christ they are as young adults. We've always counted on FBC to be a solid rock in our lives. The music, programs, preaching and teaching keep us growing in our faith and our walk with God.

From the first day I have attended FBC, I have felt welcomed and appreciated by the staff and by the members. Every Sunday, I feel up-lifted and fulfilled by the teaching of God's word from Sunday school and the pulpit. FBC is committed to community outreach and spreading the "good news." This is demonstrated by so many programs and activities they encourage and support. My love of God has florished and grown through my attendance at FBC. I thank Him that He lead me to FBC.

Very nice facility. Only went here for the COVId situation. Very well kept, tons of parking and easy to get to. I’m sure this place gets busy during normal mass and traffic could be a little more challenging but based on the two main ways to get here, I’m sure it’s pretty smooth getting in and out. I was unable to get cell service inside which made calling an Uber difficult but during normal use, I doubt that’s much of an issue for the folks attending mass here.
