Canton House Chinese Restaurant

They have been consistent the past ten years I have been eating there. The prices are great! The soups are great! Yummo! Wish they had Mei fun or rice noodles!

We been dining here about five times a month or more ,(for the past year) so obviously we love this place and lunch is very inexpensive, like less cost then fast food in most cases.
I included photos of last night's feast.

My order for 10 people was ready right on time. Never been disappointed. Also good when eating inside. I don't like there fried selections though.

Very good food. Quite atmosphere and friendly service. Way more food for your buck. Had enough left over for lunch the next day.

Sophie accommodated our party of 12. Excellent food and great service- extremely reasonable prices Moo Goo & many more excellent quality- Definetely can highly recommend- Only drawback- no liquor,wine or beer served- Hot tea was very good.

Did a walk in order, had a 15 wait which is not bad, friendly staff, decent prices.

Staff does an excellent job trying to remember their customers and their preferences. They make you feel welcome and appreciated and I know people that have been going to them for over 20 years.

Food is always excellent and they must add love and or magic as we always crave going back.

The have great Chinese food at the Canton House Chinese Restaurant, my family and I have been there several times the dumplings are so good, egg foo young shrimp, and fried rice is also very good! The owner is very nice and so is the other lady at the counter very good Restaurant! The price is very reasonable especially if you go at lunch!

This weekend my husband and I had the privilege of experiencing first class customer service. I’d never ordered from China Star, but they had some decent reviews, so we placed an online order and got confirmation for 35 minutes. An hour later I called back and was told they hadn’t even gotten my order. I then asked to speak to the manager.

Jessi took my call and promised she would do everything in her power to get to the bottom of this. She said that the restaurant had new owners who had just been in operation for a month, and they very much cared about customers' impressions.

On Sunday I was able to talk to the owner himself, Josh Wilson. He had taken the time to investigate the whole situation before our conversation and was able to tell me exactly what caused the problem. He had already put into place a solution to ensure that it would not happen again. He offered me a discount if we ever wanted to order from them again, so I decided to give them another try that evening. Josh took my order and assured me my food would arrive within 45 minutes, and so it did!

The egg rolls were fuller and tastier than we usually get at Chinese restaurants. Especially delicious were the chicken and broccoli and the fried chicken with almonds; both had sauces that were rich and flavorful with appropriate ratio of meat to vegies. The lemon chicken sauce was a perfect balance of sweet and tart and tasted very fresh, but through no fault of the chef, by the time it arrived at my house the breading on the chicken was soggy. I will order this dish again when I am eating the food at the restaurant where I can enjoy the chicken while it is still crispy. It just doesn’t travel well. Overall, the food was fresh and delicious, and the portions were very generous. Josh even threw in an extra dessert just for my inconvenience.

With so much negative in the world, China Star in Canton reminded me that there are people who really do care and who will take the time to make things right. I have a whole refrigerator of leftovers for the week to prove it.

If you go to this restaurant partly based on my review, please mention that Ann sent you. It would be nice for these fine people to realize how far great customer relations can travel. I promise that I am not getting any kickbacks from this review. I just want to appreciate genuinely good people.

As I was finishing this review, I got a call from Jessi following up with me to make sure I was happy with the food and service I received last evening. Now I am even more impressed!

I've eaten here a couple of times before the Corona hit and it was fine, a good little family restaurant. I would recommend it, but it was only in the "OK" zone of Chinese food places. Last night I took home a pickup order and it was fantastic. Everything was on point, everything that should be crispy was, all the sauces were flavorful. Whoever was in the back getting my order ready deserves a pat on the back and a raise in pay! Nothing but clean plates after dinner last night.

Went for lunch the other day, and it was fantastic as always. I have tried a few different items on the menu and always come back to Mongolian Chicken. Lunch is the best deal and I am always stuffed.. Service is excellent, but maybe I'm just use to the way they operate. If your new to the place, it may be a little intimidating because they rush around the place. Nothing extravagant, and the interior is worn. I go for the food and not the atmosphere. Always a pleasant experience for me. I'm happy that we have this restaurant as part of the community.

One of my favorite places to get Chinese food. The food was good as always but this time however the hot and sour soup was not as good as normal. Not sure what was missing but while tasty was the not the same as in the past.

We went for our first time today.
I love sesame shrimp and didn’t see it on the menu. Asked waitress if I could substitute shrimp for the chicken or beef and she said “Of course no problem.” It was delicious!!! Very pleased.
Hubby had General Tao’s and loved it.
Egg rolls were fresh and delicious.
We’ll be back absolutely 👍🏻

Lo mein was so good! And price was great

Great place for a quick lunch. I used to work around that area and would order lunch from there quite often. The owner (well I'm assuming she's the one who runs the place) always remembers me and remembers my order. Even if I haven't been there in some time. Spicy sesame chicken is the best! If you eat at the restaurant at lunch, you get soup, spring roll, and a huge portion of food! I love the place!
