Resort Realty - Hatteras Island

Our stay here was very relaxing, the view was beautiful. The place could use a little TLC. Some of the outside chairs were badly weathered and 3 of them collapsed under normal use. All in all we had a very pleasant stay . I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

Resort Realty is leasing out homes that are physically unsafe for families. Carols Soundfront Castle, specifically is filled with cat urine spray and ammonia to the point of being harmful to any residents. My family had to move 2.5 days into our vacation, and pay full price for another home, because this property lost a/c on day one and smelled entirely of cat urine spray… it was so bad the manager of resort realty said to me “I wouldn’t stay there”. We were refunded approximately 900 of our 4000$ paid. We had to relocate almost an hour away 2.5 days into our trip, therefore changing our entire plans and itinerary. We were told “buy spray or candles”. The neighbor of the property told us it’s the “cat piss house” and the first a/c repairman wouldn’t come inside because it smelled so bad. This home should not be leased and needs completely renovated before its age. If you have children or pets stay away. 2 of my 5 family members been sick since we got back over a week now with respiratory issues.

Ask to walk thru the house before you pay a deposit is all I can suggest. Not responsive to concerns or complaints. Just rude people overall
