5/7/24 - Our family would like to thank Joe Nemchek for his outstanding customer service after the passing of our Grandmother. Joe did a fantastic job assisting us with the contract and paperwork needed to finalize the burial plans. He was extremely patient as we asked our questions and worked through the process. We’re also very grateful for his attention to detail as we finalized the scroll that needed to be ordered for our Grandmother’s grave marker. Joe, thank you for your calming personality and for being so thorough with everything that needed to be done. We appreciate you! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3/13/24 - My sister and I cannot thank Randy Knapp enough for walking us through the process of designing our Mom’s grave marker. Given our attention to detail and desiring every aspect of Mom’s passing to be done with excellence, our design and order process took two appointments at our request. Randy was the best person to have worked with us. He was extremely patient with our many questions and very informative regarding design options. By the end of our second appointment, we felt such peace that our grave marker would truly preserve the memory of Mom. Randy was an answer to our prayers to walk with us through this part of the journey. Randy, you are such a blessing!

Multiple generations of my family have owned plots and been buried at Montlawn since it first opened in 1932. We had always experienced exemplary customer service, until my Mother passed away last April. Walking through her burial was a completely different Montlawn than what my family had always known... important and time sensitive phone calls were not returned, staff spoke to us in an unprofessional manner with condescending tones, and only seemed interested in making a sale.

Fast forward to today - my Aunt and I stopped by the office to see about getting a marker for my mom's grave and thankfully, it was a wonderful experience and the same Montlawn that our family has always known and loved!

Shannon Carrington and Susan Champion went above and beyond to help us, and walk us through all the information we needed!

These two ladies are an asset to Montlawn and provided us with exceptional care and customer service! Our hope in Montlawn was restored today because of these two women.

Randy has been such a helpful, knowledgable and kind man to help us out with the cemetery side of our loved one’s service, burial and grave marker. The whole staff helped us with a lovely ceremony also.

After almost a year of trying to get the vase on my parent's tombstone replaced after it being hit or taken, I finally got in touch with Randy, whom a friend suggest I call. He had it replaced for me immediately. I had been given a number of excuses by others who worked there. So if you need any assistance with anything at Montlawn, I would suggest you call Randy. He's the best.

The team at Montlawn was incredibly helpful and professional in helping me transfer the title for our families burial plots.

A big thanks to Randy Knapp for going above and beyond for us. Thanks again for helping our family, I would definitely recommend Randy and Montlawns services.

This review is so well deserved, Regina, Randy,Linwood and Frederica did such an amazing service for my spouse. During this very difficult time they made everything perfect and very respectful for him. Thank you all so much for making everything so caring. Special thanks to Regina and Randy for making this just as he would have wanted with his deers and camo. These group of people are very kind and amazing.

I visited the military section yesterday and was pleasantly surprised at how much work had been done to clean up the area. Everything was so beautiful with a flag flying on every gravesite. Thank you for your hard work

One of my favorite cemeteries, if there is such a thing. I’ve performed quite a few military honors here over the years. The staff and service providers are very friendly and courteous.

My husband brother passed away unexpectedly. I had the privilege to arrange the funeral and burial. I had no idea what to expect in this process and even after doing my own research, it still was not clear. John Paul and Lisa at Montlawn helped me so much understand and accommodate to the family needs and resources. I have a 1 year old daughter and they were so lovely and just overall so helpful. I had to make several trips to the funeral home office because that’s just how it is. Today at the Funeral and burial service everything was just perfect and beautiful. They did outstanding work and i wish i could write all my experience in detail but i felt the support and love from them and the rest of staff.

The staff was incredibly hospitable and would bend over backwards to make us feel at home, safe and comfortable. Thank you so much for attending to all things that needed details. We are honored you took so much time to make sure there was a Navy honors.
When we needed to have our mother view the service, Montlawn staff stepped in without hesitation and sent a person to our mother's home to make sure she was able to watch the live stream.
Now that we are in our 50's we see how important is to plan way far in advance, like Dad did, to keep the burden off our children. Bless you all at Montlawn!

I recently had to have cremations, a memorial service, and burial for both my parents. I cannot share enough how wonderful Scott Wheeler, funeral director, and Lisa Stacey, my Family Service Advisor - (cemetery and burial side) were to work with. They were so compassionate and thorough about every detail and wanted to make sure they were helping me keep within my financial range. They both go above and beyond to make sure every detail honored my parents not only to my liking but was the best possible remembrance experience of them. Make sure you ask for them by name to assist you. They helped me turn a terrible experience into one that has a peaceful ending for me and new beginning for my parents.

I have worked with Montlawn Memorial Park twice and each time they provided the need for our family. Michael Oakley was extremely helpful and patient throughout our entire process, making our load a little less heavy! I appreciate all Michael has done and I highly recommend his services to help your family!

Linwood handled my grandmother's funeral and the whole process with dignity and so did every one else at Montlawn.

My experience with Montlawn has been second to none! Along with sadness of losing my father I was scared and confused with the funeral process. Mr. John Paul Womble put all of that to ease. I left our first meeting feeling much more at ease. I really appreciated his suggestions that clearly had both myself and father's best interest in mind. I wasn't pressured at all! Although the grief of losing my dad remains, my reservations and fears about the funeral process are gone. I credit John Paul and the staff that aided completely. Thank you Montlawn for taking such good care of my dad and my family.

I cannot say enough about Montlawn. I remember going here as a kid to feed the turtles and the ducks, while visiting loved ones. When my father suddenly passed away, I knew this is where I wanted my dad to be. I worked with Michael and Kurtis. Both of them were Knowledgeable, helpful and made what I felt impossible happen. They made the experience easier and better than I could have imagined and for that, I am grateful.

Today we laid to rest our beautiful Mother. My twin and I had her 60 long wonderful years. We wanted her funeral simple, but sweet like her. We were treated like family from the minute we walked in the front doors. We met Scott Wheeler, Lisa Stacey and John Paul Womble. This is what excellents looks like. The personal touches that these 3 exceptional people provided for us will never be forgotten. Momma would have loved everyone that was there for her.

All the staff members were really nice and caring. They even went down the road to get my 1 yr old milk from the store during the funeral because I had forgotten due to all the stress of the loss of my little brother. No other business has ever showed the compassion and love that this place has. Everything was really special and perfect their is nothing that could have made it better. They take care of everything from beginning to end and if you have kids they are glad to take care of them. They really understand what you are going through and they themselves have loved ones buried their. God is good and God led us to Montlawn Memorial

If you want to know about this place and these folks read on .... I lost my Mom and my sister suddenly in the span of a little more than a year. It was hard. We used a cheap cremation society - because they were cheap and we did not have a lot of money.

The COVID19 pandemic shut down the world and all of my jobs and work dried up - stopped. A friend and I agreed to do some painting for a funeral home - this one .. Montlawn - and we started on off hours and between services helping them touch up and repaint doors and walls. I thought I was helping them - boy was I surprised. When you are a painter - a laborer - you get to see the real side of folks. They are usually rude and short with us ... we are the hired help. The people at Montlawn were do nice, helpful and kind.... they treated us lime family. One day they found out I liked hot chocolate and coffee ... so when I headed for my buckets and ladder, I about fell over when Mallory Ward (a admin lady there) came around the corner with a cup of hot chocolate - they had gotten a bunch for me - so I could have either. Just darn nice.

The people at Montlawn really are that sweet. Kind, compassion, patient, helpful and loving. So here is the part that makes me write this review...

I learned my Dad was about to die in a hospital in Virginia. That man that taught med to paint was about to die. John Paul Womble a funeral director there got up to take me to the bus station at 2 am so could see my Dad. While I waited for the bus, the hospital called to say he had passed. I called John Paul and he came back and got me ... and sat with me and listened.

I told him how much I wanted to use Montlawn but that we had no money and could only afford a cremation society. Boy was I surprised when he told me the prices at Montlawn ... I was wrong their prices were the same and the service .... not even worth trying to compare. But still ... Dad was in Virginia.

John Paul called Cathy Marsh his boss - they talked - and just like that wheels were in motion - literally - to get my Dad and have him cared for ... by the same people I was there to help with some painting. My Dad was being taken care of by the most caring and loving people I have ever met.

So I recommend Mallory, Cathy, Kurtis, Scott, Shannon, Ms. Judy, Caroline, Maria, JP - my Montlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park family.

If you want the right place - it is Montlawn - they may not be perfect, but they are family and I love them! Oh, I also spent the same amount of money and got way more....

Mr. Michael Oakley is THEEEEE ABSOLUTE BEST!!!! I accompanied my dad as he had to plan and choose a final resting place for THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. The process was effortless and we had quite a few laughs to take our mind off of our sorrow, not only did he take care of my dad with planning for my Bonus mom’s arrangements, we also began my daddy’s pre-planning, so that when his time comes, it will be easy for me. I am so VERY glad that I met Mr. Oakley and I look forward to working with him to plan my family’s final arrangements.
