Great place to visit to purchase some excellent handcrafted chocolate. This was my second visit and I called ahead to order 2 lbs. of the dark chocolate covered orange peel and it was delicious. They sell lots of other chocolates made on sight. They also sell coffee, ice cream and some gifts. Behind the store is a pizza place and called Big Jo Pizza and it was delicious as well.

Amazing chocolates! A few Wabasha souvenirs, mostly candy and chocolates. Definitely worth a stop if you are in town.

I came on a little vacation with my family and came to this little hidden gem. The young man that works there was such a kind soul! Very polite. The world needs more humans like you! We will be back. I purchased a lanyard and it's beautiful. And the chocolate and coffee are amazing. Keep up the good work!

visited the on June 2nd/2023 for the first time. the people at the chocolate place and everywhere we stopped in Wabasha were very nice, friendly, I had to share this because sometimes you go visit new places and people are not friendly. The chocolate and coffee you really need to go and taste, the ice cream is good, I had that before in WI. Nice place, great chocolate and coffee and nice souvenirs. The eagle center and a park with a beach are close, nice and clean. Dark chocolate with almonds and the chocolate with caramel and toasted coconut.. the best I have had.

Went in looking for coffee and was pleasantly surprised to find the Chocolate Escape. The Dark Chocolate Caramel Coffee Cashew Turtles are very good 👍 👍. The drip coffee was very good for travelers on a long trip to the National Eagle Center. Good staff interaction as well. 🙂

This place was a nice surprise find for us. It will now become a yearly destination as we travel the Great River Road. The owners had this quirky friendliness that just works very well for what they do. I just wanted to hang with them and eat chocolate treats all day! The variations along with the quality of their craft is just really awesome! This is neat shop and their joy of their craft is really fun. (and tasty)

Delicious. Try the dark chocolate turtles with sea salt, or the ones with espresso. I really appreciated the quality of all the ingredients. Wonderful staff, Michelle was great!

Awesome place! Friendly owner, great view, and delicious treats.

My wife and I stopped in at the Eagle Center and on a whim walked into the back of the The Chocolate Escape. Brian, the man behind the magic, quickly interested us in some endangered turtles. There was a whole pitch behind his chocolate turtles, and it was fun and engaging. But on top of that they were delicious, and we cannot wait to go back and try more.

My wife and I really enjoyed Brian's passion, not just about the treats he creates, but his genuine love of the area and his knowledge about it.

Stopping into The Chocolate Escape made a great day even better and I recommend anyone who enjoys chocolate, ice cream, coffee, or a good chat to stop in!

The staff were very friendly, patient and attentive. We had several people in our group, each with multiple candy requests and they covered everyone perfectly. Their ice cream is delicious and came in a nice variety of flavors. All-in-all a great experience. We will certainly be back. Highly recommended!

Loved everything about this store. The service was excellent, people wander in for the drinks and chocolate, but the native American artwork had me enthralled. You must visit and take your time in this place!! You'll miss something if you don't!

A great local store that is hard to resist. Not just chocolate but plenty of other edible delights, particularly their range of pepper jellies. Gift options too, edibles and also a wonderful selection of native made crafts. Their coffee is good and ice cream AMAZING!

Quality ingredients, great balance of flavors, excellent texture. We picked up Dark chocolate covered caramels with sea salt (always my favorite, these were great), the toffees were amazing and I regret not buying more. I usually don't care for toffee because it's too much sugar, is chewy, and sticks to your teath. Not these, such a rich butter flavor and melts in your mouth. We tried various endanger turtles and they were all great. I have not liked spicy chocolate confections in the past, but the cayane turtles were excellent. The owner is very passionate about what he does and we loved talking with him. Keep it up! Just such a bummer it's 4 hours away! So cool that they also provide an ice pack free of charge to help keep your treats from melting as you travel around town.

Great chocolate with a good variety. Their coffee was delicious as well. The owner was very kind and very passionate about their chocolate. It was great to get recommendations and fun to learn a bit if the history of their chocolate.

Love this store! Amazing, unique things to buy and see. Extremely friendly staff, very welcoming. Gave us free samples of chocolate with very interesting stories of history we never knew. This is a must stop, especially if you have a sweat tooth!!

These people take chocolate seriously! They have a wide selection of chocolates and caramels including handmade in house using Wisconsin cream. The homemade candies are incredible. Staff was friendly and when they found out we were from out of town they took extra measures to make sure our purchase made it home without any melting. Between the candy, coffee drinks, ice cream and gift shop it is a great place to hang out and relax a bit on their patio with a river view. Love it!!!
