This was a meaningful and sentimental visit for me. The little museum transported me to when I was a girl reading the Little House Series and loving all things Laura. There is a lot of pride in Pepin and the museum is divided into two rooms-one representing the times and one that is Laura specific. There is a lovely gift shop too and large modern washrooms. It was a gift to visit this special place.

Very informative on early American expansion. A lot of interactive / tactile exhibits. This made for a memorable and experiential tour. It also is a very personal interaction with Laura's family history. Upon entry we were greeted warmly by John who did a great job priming us for the tour. It is a small museum. Allow 30m to 1hr for the tour.
Also, there is a nice 7mile drive from the museum to a replica of the little house, Laura's birthplace.

Very interesting and inclusive/interactive museum! Very informative and interesting look into Laura Ingalls Wilder's life and 'Little House' folklore. Many cool artifacts and letters and photos of her entire life. Very friendly staff, nifty gift shop and restrooms on site. A must see historic place for history lovers!

Cute museum that the whole family can enjoy. Daughters favorite parts of the books involved mom smacking the bear butt on accident and she loved they have that as part of the exhibit.

Mom and I are visiting from Maryland and had to make this a stop. This is a small museum, packed with lots of information. John welcomed us and gave us clear, easy to follow suggestions for how to best experience the museum. Aside from learning about Laura and her family, the info about making pearl buttons was my favorite.

Loved this place. Visited on a Wednesday afternoon and it was not busy at all. Very interesting to see all the displays and some real items from Laura's days. Had just listened to Little House in Big Woods with my children so it was neat to see the story being shown in the museum. Family price was great! Also went to the log cabin replica about 15 minutes from the museum. Great stop too!

Interesting history, artifacts, pictures and timelines of the Ingalls family lives and moves. $5 per person, great deal to experience history and pioneer life.

This is a small museum, nothing fancy, but a delightful stop for me as I am a lifelong fan of Laura Ingalls Wilder. The parking situation is somewhat precarious, as the lot is small and requires backing onto what can be a fairly busy highway. You enter into the gift shop, which has all kinds of pioneer apparel, decorative and household items, and books. I was happy to find a penny smasher machine. After paying for entrance, guests can explore two sides of the building. One is focused on Laura Ingalls Wilder and includes family artifacts or related items along with quotes from the books. On the other side are rooms with exhibits that focus on the history of Lake Pepin, including several tragedies that've hit the area.

Great place to see some Americana history. If you grew up with the books, TV show, or like pioneer history, this is a nice little place to stop in and visit.

We visited on Sunday & had a great time. The gentleman working (forgot his name) was helpful & informative. He snapped this photo for us and gave me the opportunity to play the organ. Fans of the books young & old will love the details & pieces in this museum.
