Absolutely can’t say enough positive things about the Hartland Diner! Lovely atmosphere (including dinos for the kids to play with), amazing staff, and the food is beyond! I usually get the hash browns with veggies and it is next level. Everything I have had has been delicious! And no other pie has compared to my mom’s until I went there. Go and support this amazing restaurant and say hi to Bernie for me ;)

Friends took us here when we were visiting the area. I loved the kitschy diner decorations and the unabashed display of their political leanings. Both the food and the service were very good. And I loved that they have a full vegan menu. They only serve breakfast, but they do it well. A friend ordered the vegan raspberry pancake and it was humongous. It was easily the size of four or five regular pancakes. Other friends ordered the vegan wrap, and I got the Irish Bene.

Being able to have vegan choices in a diner was awesome enough, but the food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere totally rocked! I can’t recommend this place enough! We’re moving to Northern VT an hour and a half away and we still plan on visiting the Hartland Diner at least once a month!

This is my very favorite diner in all of the Upper Valley. First and foremost, the quality and preparation of the food is excellent. IMHO, a great New England diner has to have outstanding pancakes, real maple syrup, and good hashbrowns. As regards Hartland Diner, that's a hell yes. Savory wraps, great quality breakfast meats and eggs, rancheros, a beautiful vegan lunch menu, def try the pie! All are welcomed there; lgbtq plus included. Remember that quality, great service, and atmosphere are not inexpensive. It's worth every penny, every single time

I felt so welcome in the restaurant’s warm and friendly ambiance. Every now and then I could hear the owner/chef in the kitchen sing along to the great music playlist, the volume just enough to hear without interfering with conversation. The food (silver dollar pancakes, eggs, bacon and hash browns) was delicious and very generous in volume. This was the first time I needed a box for half of my breakfast. Definitely worth the stop! I look forward to my next visit!!!

Such a magical fun diner! Was a big surprise when we arrived and the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The food is incredibly delicious — we enjoyed every bite!! 🥰😍 Highly recommend!!! We got a pie to go as well… will edit my review once we have had it — I’m sure it’s delicious!

Quite Good. Went with my family not long ago. I enjoyed all aspects of the experience, with the ambiance sticking out most and best. The home fries are delicious.

Stumbled on this place totally by accident ("I think I saw a sign that said diner over there"), we'd never even head of Hartland before. But it was great! Great atmosphere, great service (it was small and bustling the whole time we were there but no one had to wait for a seat for long) and very fun feeling. Loved the volume of decor, the menu, the size of the portions, and great music coming from the kitchen! Appreciated the flags outside (Warning: the insides are socially aware!). Also loved the food, and I need to try pancakes and pie next time! And next time there will be! It's a hour south of home, and we rarely head in that direction. but I think we'll have to make it a regular stop anyway!

LOVE! Worth the drive, and worth every penny. So much personality, and damn so tasty. The pancakes are massive, and I’m not exaggerating. 12+ inches diameter. Thick and yummy. Everywhere you look has a sticker, a dinosaur toy, or a sign. The personality of the owner and staff runs all over and I absolutely love it. Black Lives Matter, Pro Choice, and Pro LGBT.

If I were on death row, and offered a “last meal,” I would have The Hartland Diner’s French toast.

It’s. That. Good.

Husband and I were driving down from Sugarbush to CT and were craving food. We took the next exit and followed the food sign. 1 mile down the road we stumbled upon Hartland Diner. The food was amazing, very fresh and my hubby said it was the best French Toast he has had in a long time. My eggs, bacon, toast and hash browns were scrumptious. Great bread and portions. Not a big fan of some of the interior decor/signage, but nevertheless, the experience was great and would recommend. Hardworking staff, non stop. Impressive👍🏻.

I loved this diner so much I stopped there on my way back from my trip. But, alas, it was closed
The breakfast was great! The mound of hash brown potatoes was impressive and delicious!
The ambiance was delightful, as were Evelyn and Colton.
Thanks for the hospitality!

More then generous portions, delicious food. Husband loved the corned beef hash. Busy of course(its a Sunday mid morning) and took a little time for front end to get to taking orders, clearing plates and delivering checks but all done with a smile. Will be back.

We love this place! Our kids beg us to come back to the “Dino Diner”, and even though it takes us a good 52 minutes to drive here, we do it. I mean, look at that ginormous blueberry pancake, delicious. We have recently left (fled) Texas and greatly appreciate a gem of a place like this. A place of freedom of expression. If you can’t handle it, then don’t come, easy peasy. You can find plenty of the opposite opinions blasted all over Texas places.

Such a nice local location with wonderful staff. Your food is made fresh when you order making the wait time a bit longer. Portions however are sizable.

EXCELLENT everything! Small town gem every bit worth a roadtrip! I had traditional eggs Benedict w/hashbrowns - potatoes with lots of potato flavor (!), perfectly poached eggs (!), homemade Hollandaise (!), and muffins that weren't tough! Blueberry-peach pie that's worth the trip on it's own!
👍👍

We found this place as a random stop on our way out of Vermont and we were so pleasantly surprised by everything. My three cranky underslept children were a bit of a handful, but I felt like everybody understood. Being surrounded by positivity and understanding was certainly a breath of fresh air especially coming from Florida. It's nice to know places like this exist in small-town America. And to top it off, literally everything we ate was delicious. Clean plate club for all of us!

Next time we make our way up North for some leaf peepin' we'll definitely have to make a specific stop at this wonderful place.

Thanks!
