Penn’s Grill

Wow!! Who would have guessed that this little gem would have such wonderfully fresh food in Whiteville of all places?! Living in Southeastern North Carolina, many times we feel like we live in a food desert when it comes to healthy options. However, Penn's Grill is an exceptional find with super fresh food made with whole ingredients and tons of gluten-free options. I was shocked in the most pleasant way! If you are still in the mood for a great hamburger or hot dog, reminiscent of Penn's menu offerings from 20 years back, you can still get those here too! What a great mix to find in one place! They've got something here for everybody... literally.

Super all around. Service was friendly and fast. Food was great, especially the grits. Coffee was the best we had in a long time.

Did a quick google search and stumbled upon this place. Quaint with great hospitality and delicious food for a great price so tip the staff extra!

Avocado bowl with hash, wow those potatoes/“hashbrowns” were delicious. That seasoning! No room for sweets but they looked good too. Will definitely be back.

I came after lunch about 2; no crowd very peaceful and enjoyable. I didnt wait long for my food. Everyone was nice and very accommodating. There was so many sweets as I was looking around. Couldn't just get the grilled chicken avacodo sandwich meal. Had to buy cookies, pecan brownie and their blueberry cobbler. Everything was delicious. Will definitely come back!

We love Penn's! We live 12 hours away but try to stop in every time we are even remotely close ❤ Everything we have ever ordered was wonderful, and it feels like you are eating clean

One of the only places in downtown Whiteville to take a card! Menu is more than your typical grill fare, they have revamped their menu to include carb free bowls, avocado grilled chicken, salads, etc... Friendly and quick service. They also have a coffee bar!!! Espresso, latte, and other things available!

The food and service were the best! Loved the healthy options. We liked Penn’s Grill so much we went twice in a week!

Was charged $2.00 for 1 piece of multi grain toast and was not told of an extra charge. They had no biscuits and we were offered white or multi grain toast. Bad business.

Food is delicious. The prices are very reasonable. They also serve delicious healthy food. Service is also excellent. It is very clean. We highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They also have beautiful flowering quince and lavender bushes surrounding the front and sides of the building. It looks well cared for.

The server was absolutely the best! The food was good and so was the toasted marshmallow ice coffee. Next time we're heading to the beach we will definitely stop in again!

The freshest, most delicious lunch!! We stopped here on our way to the beach (after almost stopping at a fast food place and noticing reviews mentioning healthy food). I had the Farmacy bowl and my husband had the grilled chicken club with some chili fries and berry cobbler to share and it was some of the best food I’ve had in a long time. It was flavorful, the vegetables were crisp and fresh, and it was healthy but also so so so delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous and the service was wicked fast so we were back on the road in no time with curbside delivery. We’re making it a point to stop here again on our way back!

If you've ever taken a drive across country, and stopped in 1 of those quaint towns and discovered the best local eatery, well that's Penns Grill to a tee!!!
Helen does a great job incorporating new products and new ideas to keep the menu fresh.
The place is clean, well organized and that speaks volumes to the ownership!
So the next time you're in Wilmington NC area, take the time to stop and eat, you'll never forget it!!
And save room for dessert!!!

Read some reviews on here about the amazing gluten free chicken and waffles. Went to the restaurant, ordered this amazing combination of food and was totally wowed! All the food my son and I tried was awesome, but the incredible thing about this place, the gluten free options! So. Many. Options. And the staff is so knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful! Definitely check this place out if you haven’t or if you are passing through and have the opportunity! Cannot wait to go back!

Great service and food

We ate there on the way home from the beach. I had an omelet with Fresh veggies. So good. My husband had some of the best hash browns ever. Everything is homemade . Fresh homemade biscuits and dessert. Little gem 💎

Penn's Grill was a pleasant lunchtime surprise in the small town of Whiteville. The relatively small diner had a plentiful variety of dishes, fresh veggies, meats, and seafood. My leafy salad with fruit and shrimp were fresh and delicious, plus, the coffee and the service were excellent. I'll start looking for reasons to pass through Whiteville during breakfast and lunch times.
