Mickey Mantle's Childhood Home

Mickey Mantle's Childhood Home is a stop on the official Oklahoma Route 66 Passport. It is a wonderful stop and chock full of history. I love how Mickey Mantle learned how to be a technical batter with the help of his dad.

Another great stop in Oklahoma. This is the boyhood home of Mickey Mantle, the Commerce Comet. Was pretty cool to see a bit of baseball history while traveling historic Route 66. The site was easy to find, just follow the signs.

What a neat place! Great piece of American history.

A quick stop at the childhood home of the baseball legend, Mickey Mantle. Easy to miss the turn, one little blue sign though Google maps will bring you right to it.

Much smaller than I expected. Did not see hours or contact number but it was closed when we visited. Go slow through the narrow streets, some have a pretty steep drop on either side. Interesting neighborhood with 4 way stops on every corner.

Fun marker to visit! Easy to find! Loved the story! We left a couple of Kirsten's bracelets there. On Facebook page, Where is Kirsten Marie now? It shows stories of her bracelets traveling around the world. We are Kirsten's Papa and Granna. Hugs

I like to bring my Drivers Ed students who like baseball by this house in Commerce, Oklahoma just off RT66.

It is an old house that has been preserved with a sign. It's a simple sight with no shop or tourist trap add ons. Simple quiet dignity appropriate for such a place. Please don't ever change it
