Pretty cool. I lived a mile from here and never knew it existed until I researched 66.
A monument to 66 original road. Was it really only 9 feet wide interesting.

Sadly there's graffiti on the back.

Definitely worth the stop. Our goal for this leg of our Route 66 trip was the Oklahoma border. It took us two photographers 4 days to reach Oklahoma from the Pacific, MO area. We ventured into Oklahoma as long the sun would allow them we turned and headed for home. If you're traveling Route 66, this is a must stop.

Very interesting to see and actually stand and park on and to think of how many others in the early days traveled along this historic road. So amazing!

An old bit of American memorabilia; we saw this sign while west of Miami, Florida and stopped for a few quick photos. The idea of a road nine feet across certainly dates to an earlier time.

Amazing and sad. Road is deteriorating badly but still accessible. Wonderful way to experience the early road system in America. I hope that Oklahoma or the NPS decide to save what is left of the road even if that means we can't drive on it anymore. Hopefully an access road could be added for the locals.

We took say 15.4 mi trip on this part of the road it was the roughest washboard that I've ever been on. When I say old route 66 that means old route 66.

Ribbon Road-Sidewalk road is a little rough, but totally worth it if you want to drive on an original section of the Mother Road. It is the only remaining 9 foot wide section of pavement remaining on Route 66. My family drove down in a Dodge Journey, and it handled the old section of road with no problem.

Not a lot to see, nothing to do but take a picture. Still kind of cool for those into historical sites.

Stopped to snap a picture after we went down the 9 foot wide highway section (which is very rough). I dont get people leaving bad reviews, its a freaking marker, what else did they expect.

It was really great to see and drive on this old stretch of road. Need to do some research to understand the purpose for the concrete "curbs " in the road. It's interesting to touch a bit of history and see how it was different.

Thank you Jesus.

I think it's worth the drive if you are going for the full Route 66 experience. There isn't much remaining of the roadway which is to be expected. Here's what remains of a Route 66 stamp on the road.
