This is a beautiful, peaceful, historic place.

It is not close to much, but worth the drive, in my opinion.

After coming up here a few times, on this visit for the first time I went to see the foundations of some additional family homes on the farm. And we saw an example of a stone bridge that was pretty neat!

While the Visitor center is closed currently due to Covid, the grounds are open for visitors to walk through. The flower beds are lovely and the area is peaceful and beautiful.

I learned so much from the missionary couple who gave us a tour. I was in awe of how spiritually powerful this place was.

Lovely spot...very friendly missionaries will meet you. Also, great Chritsmas light displays between Thanksgiving and New Year's.

Very nice and very quiet the day I went. A lot of history here, I would say anyone should visit.

Really did not know what to expect when we went here. Though it might just be a monument out in a field. There was that, beautifully landscaped but there is a wonderful visitors center with individuals available to answer any questions. The site was immaculately kept up and landscaped with beautiful flowers.

We took advise of one of the missionaries there and took the back road out, got to see some spots not on the normal tour of the old Smith Homestead. Worth the trip.

Beautiful and moving reminder of the life of Joseph Smith. I didn't appreciate the efforts taken to create the memorial. Staff was excellent.

Absolutely wonderful! The missionaries were absolutely amazing and kept the interest of my 4 boys! What a beautiful site! Very spiritual and humbling to be on these sacred grounds! A must visit for anyone!

We had the place to ourselves when we went. The volunteers were super nice. We got to ride in a golf cart up and down the forest trails to view different sites. My kids had a blast! The little museum is very cool and the monument/obelisk is interesting. My favorite part was the original stone slab still in the ground where the footprint of the Smith home used to be.

The entire property is so peaceful and conducive to feeling the Holy Spirit, and the stories of the work and miracles it took to get the monument there are incredible. The missionaries who lead the tours are wonderfully kind. There is a tour of the visitor's center and of the footprints of the Mack farms around--the latter available by golf cart with blankets--all of which are unrushed and not rigidly scheduled. This is well worth the trip whether you are a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints or not.

We got a tour from the mission president's wife. It was very informative and interesting. There are lots of interesting and obscure facts about the monument and the Smith family. Highly recommend!

The Christmas Lighting and Live Nativity were great. Nice and short for the kids but still very accurate with a fun countdown at the end for the Christmas lights to turn on.

A great historical exhibit outlining the birth of Joseph Smith and the history of his family. LDS missionaries are present to provide tours if desired.

Grounds are wonderful and the music in the trees, you can't go there and not feel peace.

Very educated and interesting guides. Ask for the long story of the Mack family...it was very enlightening!
