Charleston Sloth and Exotics

This place was absolutely amazing! We brought my step son here for his birthday and he enjoyed it! I learned so much about animals you really never consider. The staff is really nice and I can tell they love these animals and their job! I would definitely come back 😊😊😊

I loved it. It was perfectly timed to 90 mins. Very casual and very intimate. They separated the group into two for some distance which was nice. Seriously a one of a kind experience. Never in my life did I think I'd be able to be so close and personal with these exotic animals. Photo ops, hugs and feeding time for everyone. Worth the money. The owners were kind and easy to talk to.

Absolutely loved our after dark tour. Heather is so knowledgeable about her animals. She's relaxed and lets everyone take their time. You can tell the animals are well taken care of and loved. If we get back to the Charleston area we'll book another tour.

This place is a dream come true! I don’t really have a bucket list, but if I did, petting a sloth would be on it. And feeding Sydney the sloth and petting him was everything I could have ever dreamed of.

That said... the owners are clearly very caring of the animals on premise, with custom enclosures, custom diets, and the collaboration with various conservation programs.

They have two wonderful anteaters, a lot turtles, a big tortoise, some other critters, rescue greyhounds, and of course the sloth.

We went as a group and found the costs to be reasonable as it supports the programs they contribute to, and felt the time and information conveyed during the tour was wonderful.

This was an incredible experience that I wouldn't trade for anything!! It is not everyday that you get the chance to walk an anteater and hand feed a sloth. Henry and Heather are an incredible couple who open their home up for us to share the joy of their animals. They offer a very unique tour of all the animals they own, they provide a great educational experience, and so wonderfully take care of their animals! I couldn't recommend this experience enough!

Excellent guides, kid friendly, and great photo ops! Our 4 kids had a great time and it was a fun morning experience before we headed to the beach. The possum was our favorite :)

We had the BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! We are so excited we found this place thanks to a Google search! We had been researching Sloth Experiences many states away and we stumbled across this one in Charleston, SC and WOW what an awesome & very affordable experience we all had! It was our daughter's 10th birthday in which she invited a couple of friends and boy they loved it! I didn't realize that we were going to also meet and learn about other animals too. I'm not sure who enjoyed it more, the kids, parents or grandparents, lol. We all thought it was touching to see the kids having so much fun and learning at the same time. The owners (Heather & Henry) which also are the guides were genuine, kind and friendly folks. I walked away that day in awe at the service they gave our family & friends and the true love and passion they have for what they do. This was truly a once in a lifetime experience that my family will never forget and we will always be grateful for! When we got into our vehicle and were headed home our daughter and her friend would not stop talking about their experience and how excited they were to be able to touch, hold, feed and take photos with these beautiful creatures. I am confident to say that you won't get this one-on-one experience anywhere else. The owners and hosts (Heather & Henry) are truly Salt-of-the-Earth people that care. I will do everything I can to make others are aware of our experience. If any business deserves the powerful word of mouth promotion to help their business thrive it's these two @ Charleston Sloth and Exotics! Heather & Henry we plan to visit you again in the near future! Our daughter, Peyton, told us that it was the best day of her life! That was precious and I wanted to share that with you so you know how much we appreciate you both and what you do for others!

Awesome experience! The staff is pretty awesome as well. All of the animals were pretty active and very tame. The kids as well as the adults had a fantastic time. We will definitely be back. The only downside is we were put with another family with our tour. It was a bit awkward and we felt as if we were hurting their experience because we're such a big family and it takes some time for each person to do everything. Other than that 10/10!

We greatly enjoyed our time. We had plenty of time with each animal. We were never rushed. Henry and Heather were very knowledgeable and were obviously passionate about caring for all their animals. It was well worth the trip for all of us. Would strongly recommend going if you love animals.

Great experience!! Never have I imagined we would get to feed and hold opossums; hold baby bunnies; walk an anteater!; pet and feed a slouth; feed and pet a tortoise!! My family had a wonderful time! The staff was friendly; knowledgeable; and very welcoming. We are planning a return visit very soon!
And the Angel Oak tree is right down the street for another beautiful place to visit.

Such a wonderful experience! The close knit family oriented tour was unlike anything else we have experience before! It was such a great price for all of the animas you get to be with. Our favorite part was learning that the animals are their pets and that they take such great care of them. Thank you again and we will definitely be back!

This is a great experience. My teenager daughter went willingly but was not super excited. After we left, she said she couldn't wait to come back. It is interactive and informative - everyone that works there is very friendly and knowledgeable. Feeding a sloth was a great experience as well as all of the other animals there.

Heather and her husband were extremely personable and helpful for our tour at Charleston Sloth and Exotics! We did a custom tour for a proposal in our tour group and they were extremely flexible, generous, and involved to help us make it special. The animals are tremendously taken care of and are such a joy to meet and interact with. I would recommend this experience to anyone- children, those with disabilities, adults, locals, tourists, etc. The tour is great for all ages and is such a learning experience!

This place is amazing. My boyfriend took me to see Sid the sloth and I immediately fell in love. But I was even more suprised by Samantha the anteater, who has a personality all of her own, Princess the possum and her sister. Fred and Wilma the tortoises and last but not least the cutest black rabbit. Ms. Heather was not only very knowledgeable but very down to earth, easy to talk to and made us feel right at home.

This place is so fun and cool! It's a really good place to surprise your significant other with or a birthday present for kids. I absolutely lives all the animals and the couple who run this are so friendly and nice. I had to reschedule my appoitment for personal reasons and they were very understanding and helpful. This was a wonderful experience and me and my husband absolutely loved it! I would definitely come back here and would 100% recomend it to everyone!

We had the coolest time at Charleston Sloth and Exotics!! Henry and Heather are super personable and knowledgeable about their animals and you can tell how much they really love what they do. If you’re expecting some big fancy op, that’s not what you’ll get here. And I wouldn’t change a thing. You will get one-on-one time with each of the animals and a hands on experience that you can’t get at a zoo or other facility. Henry and Heather answered all of our questions and let us handle the animals at our own pace. Walking the anteater and cuddling the opossums was the highlight of the trip/year/decade 😂. We’re so thankful to have stumbled upon CSE and will def be back!

Had a very cool 90 minutes of not only petting, feeding and chilling out with a sloth, anteater and bunnies but learned a ton about all the animals. I love intimate and interactive settings. If you are looking for a different experience with some cool and well taken care of animals this is the stop.

This completely exceeded our expectations. It was so intimate and personal with the animals that we'r absolutely loved it! This was so much fun, I believe I had more fun than my kids, the staff were amazing and lots of fun! I can't wait to go back when it warms up so I can see the sloth walk on the ground!
