Shafer's Ace Hardware

I have been to both Shafer's stores frequently. The staff is very helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. They both have a different inventory I have learned from experience. If you can't find what you're looking for at one. Definitely give the other one a shot.

Locally owned with multiple locations in Humboldt County including two in Eureka they offer a wide selection of products many times giving the customer a choice between the generic Ace brand along with the brand name item and occasionally locally produced items lots of options the stores are pretty large the Henderson Center location has a very nice live plant selection a much better selection than the Harris and Harrison store

There's something for everyone here no matter what the project and I really like that the employees will help you take whatever you buy to your car if it's too heavy or a lot to carry.

My wife & I camp up in Kneeland two to three times a year.This hardware store is our go too.

You want a cool person to load your products go find the guy with the cowboy hat friendly and always has a smile. All the staff are very knowledgeable about the products they sell. Go see them for all you project needs..

Ace is the place! Shafer's has 2 stores in Eureka, if one doesn't have what you need, the other does. Both are well organized , and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The Ace rewards program is a great way to save on your purchases, so be sure to check it out and get your rewards card!

Just bought some plywood over there at the Ace Hardware on Harris and the kid out back that helped us was a breath of fresh air. He had product knowledge, very very courteous, well spoken young guy. They were also two other guys in the back lumber area, very helpful very courteous, polite. If I lived in this area, I would shop at the Ace Hardware for all of my lumber And hardware needs. Purchasing a new firearm can always be like dealing with a car salesman. But when dealing with the crew here they were helpful if they did not know they would look it up or research they didn't make things up or feed you facts that were not reality. They were patient and helpful with a nice selection and below local market prices.

They have a good mix of home repair items. Plumbing, electrical, paint, garden tools, hardware, and a little lumber as well. I have always missed feeling like a valued customer here even after becoming a frequent shopper, still no rapport. Thats just doesn't settle with me. However, this week I made a paint purchase and Michael helped me. He was super friendly and it felt real, he offered solutions for my painting dilemma and even looked up the weather. He explained to me the value of primer when painting and I believed him and I am hard to convince. I finally feel acknowledged at this location. Sure hope he finds his way into management, the whole team could learn from his sincere and exceptional customer service skills.

Awesome store , very clean , has a lot of items needed , has one of the biggest tool selection I have seen around here (more than the fortuna one) . And always something that my kids have to have by the door lol !

I actually like this place more than piersons. Between this location and the other one, they somehow have more in stock than Piersons. I think they'll probably put them out of business eventually. On the downside their prices are high. However they are very organized and well staffed. Rarely lines, people know what they are talking about. Especially this guy in plumbing he's an expert. Recently some younger staff but they still seem helpful.

Helpful and courteous staff, lots of merchandise and convenient. Kind of pricey, but not in an awful way.

Husband called looking for a 50 amp to 30 amp converter. The other location said this location had one. GPS showed he would get here at 4:56. We just got into town and made a wrong turn which had us pulling up at 5pm. They were closing the gate, my husband asked the guy at the gate if he could grab the converter real quick. The dude remembered him calling, let him in, and had even pulled the converter up front.
Thanks guys! We wouldn't have had electricity and heat tonight without y'all being so accommodating.
