Grinders 13

This place is like a Beto's, but much better. Absolutely fantastic service and food. Was greeted as I walked through the door by a very friendly and welcoming man. He offered me a few suggestions and then went and cooked my food himself. It came out piping hot, delicious, and in only about 3 minutes. And of course I didn't get out the door without a sincere thank you. Thank YOU amigo!

Absolutely delicious! I got taquitos, chocolateflan and chocolate cake. The taquitos came with pickled carrots on the side that complemented the dish amazingly. The cake was soft, moist and rich! The flan was creamy and spongey. 10/10 do recommend!

New favorite sandwich shop! I’m hooked! My husband introduced me to this place and I’m forever changed. Got the Italian Club sandwich and man oh man amazing !! Bread tastes homemade too. It’s a massive sandwich so you will be 100% satisfied!

Being from the northeast I found it hard to get a good sandwich/sub in Utah. Most "sandwiches" I've gotten out here fall closer to the panini category - thin, very little meat, and pretentious. Grinders 13 knows how to make a quality sub. Great ratio of meat to bread, quick service, reasonably priced. Roast beef is made in house too. If they were closer to my work I'd be getting lunch here 3 times a week minimum.

I love love love this place ever since I was a young girl! It seriously is the best place to get sandwiches from! I’m bummed they are closing but I’m glad because moe can finally relax he has always been so kind and always finds a way to make me laugh every visit! I hope he enjoys his retirement and a fast recovery!!! Thanks for cheering me up and feeding me delicious food:)

Delicious and fresh food, truly made to order. I can always count on fresh fries and tasty sandwiches here.

April 2024: I'll miss Grinders 13 and remember it fondly for the rest of my life, and if you also miss it, you should go find Gaetano's as it is owned by someone who worked for Grinder's and created their own shop to keep it alive.

I haven't been to Juanito's yet but hope to soon!

Ugh this place is good. The tortas are perfection.

Went in for lunch and ordered a 6 inch Philly cheese steak and fries. Food was ready quick, staff was very friendly, the restaurant was quite clean. The food was fantastic. Sandwich was considered a small but was still pretty good size and quite filling. Super cheesy and full of meat and fillings. The fries were crispy and tasty and served with a good fry sauce. Definitely will be back again to try more of the menu.

Delicious food and friendly staff. One of my favorite sandwich shops around. The bread is so soft and they pack them with lots of meat. You will not walk away hungry. Their fries are the best with their house made fry sauce. They have diced jalapeno cups to add to your sandwich if you want (which is my favorite.). Facilities are clean.

Best sandwiches in the Valley. Love the staff, Mo the owner runs the front and is always so personable. High quality ingredients and perfect everytime we go. Been a patron for over 40 years and won't go anywhere else. They handle covid really well with spacing and cleanliness also. Highly recommend. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

It’s a good place for lunch. The staff was super friendly. When we walked in they offered my kids cookies for after their meals (: I here it’s busy for lunch time, but when I went it wasn’t at all and we received our food in a timely manner. It’s near a Pokémon Go gym, if that matters to any players looking to relax and play at the same time.

It does seem a little dark as you walk in, but you quickly adjust. Great service, and friendly atmosphere.

They have another one on State Street that I ate at allot 30 years ago. (It's been around 41 years according to the friendly fellow at the cash register.)

I had the Philly Steak, and I thought it was as good as I've had in Philly even.

Saw someone else had the pot roast sandwich, I'm going back for that one next week.

All of the staff was super friendly and seemed genuinely happy to serve. It was slammed when I went and I still got my food quickly. Got the hot pastrami sandwich and fries. Both were great!

Best sandwiches in the valley. Been visiting Grinders since I was little, over 40 years. Moe, the owner, is always so nice and personable. Food is fresh, tastes fantastic and a very fair price. Definitely the families favorite sub shop. They can't be beat!

This place has the best ham and cheese, with fresh French fries and fry sauce. It is so good. My mom and I stop here at least once a week for lunch. I call ahead and they have it ready to go. The employees are always very friendly. Their hot sandwiches are my favorite!! Highly recommended.

The BEST Sandwiches in Salt Lake City! I've been getting my Cheese Steak and occasionally a cold Ham and Cheese fix at Grinders 13 for the last 40 years. The owner Mo and his trusty crew are still cranking them out the same way for nearly 50 years. Love the fries too. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. It's ALL GOOD!

Love this place. Great food. Used to eat at the other location almost daily when. I was in High School. Sandwiches still as good as they ever were. Got my son hooked now as well! Thanks for all the years of service!

Outside of the shop may look run down, but these guys know what they are doing! The food here is absolutely great! The staff is happy to see ya, they get your order in fast and get your food out to you looking and smelling and of course tasting incredible! I tried both the walk in and order and the phone-in order before I wrote this review. Doing the phone-in order will get you back out the do faster, but walking in and ordering gets you in and eating almost as fast.
I will definitely be returning often to this Grinders for lunch!
