Fun cave. The cave is wide open but has quite a few steep metal steps (almost like a ladder) that you'll have to descend on the way in and then climb on the way out. Should be quick and easy for most without mobility problems.

Skull Cave is a great cave to visit in Lava Beds National Monument. It is more isolated from the rest of the main caves but offers some of the most unique features including an old skull head and an ice floor in the lower part of the cave. Highly recommend visiting.

This is our favorite cave at Lava Beds National Park! This is a large and open area with beautiful rock formations. It has lot of stairs. Bringing a flashlight and a jacket is recommended.

This was the coolest of the lava caves that we visited. Easy for anyone and really big compared to some of the tubes.

Definitely one of my favorites from Lava Beds. This is a must do cave if you visit here. Make sure you have a good torch and a backup, not your phone light. Try turning the torches off when you get down to the skull.

A larger cave for exploring in the Lava Beds in Tulelake, Ca., this is definitely the coolest cave out there. Being so much bigger and offering more to venture through, you won't be disappointed with this paradigm. When you get to the end you can see where the ice floor begins which they have safely blocked off to prevent anyone too curious from getting hurt.

Nice cave, easy to access, easy to climb down into but take a good flashlight, don't rely on the flashlight from your phone to give you sufficient light to enjoy the features of the cave, you will regret not having something stronger, don't forget to bring something warm with you if you stay any good length of time inside

The biggest cave I saw in Lava Beds. The entrance is huge and the path is well defined, built atop paved slabs of rock. There is light that shines through the main cavern. At the very end, the path descends down some stairs to an ice floor, which has been roped off due to it silting over and melting in recent years. It's absolutely still worth the trip in.

Huge entrance and it gets very cold inside (occasionally there is ice). The way down is more traversable compared to the other caves and there is a lot of open space so you never feel claustrophobic. The only small letdown is that you can't go very deep (it's sealed off).

A giant worth visiting at least once. The shear size of the cave will leave you in awe. One of the more "friendly" caves as there is a trail all the way through and plenty of room to move around.

This cave is really easy to explore and really impressive, but do bring a lot of lights.

They loved it.

The biggest and best cave there. A must for a true cave dweller.

Great, dark cave with ice at the bottom. Be sure to bring your flashlights, because it's going to be daaaark....
