Mushpot Cave is a great smaller and easily accessible cave next to the Visitor Center of Lava Beds National Monument. A perfect first cave to go to when visiting.

This cave is the sole one in the park equipped with lighting and interpretive signage that provides invaluable knowledge about the caves and their unique formations.

Amazing cave to explore in Lava Beds National Monument! The National Park Service has really done well with lighting up walkways and adding cool boards every few feet explaining all about the cave and life formations. Note that it does get cold the further down you go, so be sure to use gloves when holding the rails at the bottom.

Well-lit cave with plenty of information about the history of lava tubes and how they were formed. A great place to start exploring the park!

If you're not comfortable with caving and you're in Lava Beds, this cave and Skull Cave are the best to see. Mushpot Cave is well-lit and has many info plaques that describe the formations. The path is easy to follow and there is only one section that requires any ducking or maneuvering. It's very close to the campground and visitor's center, which makes it very accessible.

This cave has lights and a solid path, so it's possible to visit it without any extra gear. There are good information signs explaining how the lava tubes formed.

Paved, well-lit cave requires a bit of stooping here and there. My 1-and-a-half year old walked all the way, so almost anybody could do it! We were in and out in 10-15 minutes.

Accessible and beautiful cave. The only one that doesn't require lanterns or flashlight 🔦

Easy cave because it is paved , lit and there is info throughout the cave !! Good to do if caves scare you. Some low clearance though!

The most user friendly cave in the park. The mushpot itself, right as you enter the trail, is a view worth seeing.
