Just got some supper at this diner. Everything was amazing, from the service to the food to even the bathrooms! The bathroom smelled pleasantly of pumpkin. Our waitress Kathy was a sweetheart. The food was spectacular! I got the tri tip steak with a baked potato and some onion rings. I couldn't finish it all because my eyes are bigger than my stomach, but we also took some blueberry cheesecake back to our hotel with us!

We ate a Black Bear Diner for the first time while on vacation. Our server Deagan took very good care of us. We had breakfast, and the food was delicious. And the serving size was enough to take some with us for lunch later. We enjoyed our experience very much and would go back.

This is my favorite diner of all time. I go a little crazy for their huge delicious biscuits. And everything I’ve ever ordered has been good. The ambiance is country and relaxed (with a cute gift shop and front cooler with pies and cakes) and the service is great. Katharine was our server and took great care of us. I got my standard breakfast of eggs, ham (from nj, this is as close to taylor ham as I can get) and the blueberry french toast which is killer. I also got the blueberry mimosa which came with a whole mini bottle of Prosecco! Katharine even gave me some extra cinnamon and icing to top it off bc she was so sweet and thoughtful. If you’ve never been to a Black Bear diner you’re missing out.

Hands down best place ever! Their meals were super good and plentiful! Worth the money! Atmosphere was great and staff did good attending us! Only thing which is minor is that i could of used a tad bit more gray on my biscuits which i'm sure they would have complied if i had asked! Besides that recomend give it a try!

Emma was my server and she was incredibly kind and helpful, she helped me decide what I would have liked on the menu. The food is always delicious and they have huge portions so you'll always be full when you leave. Everyone who works here is incredibly kind and I always feel welcome when I come in. I am always greeted with a smile. The food isn't expensive and the portions off ALL of the meals are definitely worth it and you get your moneys worth. Don't get me started on all of the desserts. you absolutely cant leave without a dessert. Absolutely delicious. 10/10 everything. And to any of these 1 star reviews, they are incredibly ill mannered, snotty, and just rude people. I have never had any reason whatsoever to give a one star review to this restaurant, and im sure i wont anytime soon.

This is above and beyond for a diner. The wait staff is so chill. Takes me back to a lodge in the woods. Great coffee, waffle was amazing.

We have a classic and excellent lunch at the Black Bear Diner. Pot roast and a salad were the fare of the day.

The atmosphere was relaxing and comfortable and the services was impeccable. Our server Bryan went out of his way to help us out and accommodate our gluten intolerance.

Thanks Bryan for a surprise awesome lunch! You are amazing!

If you are looking for a wide selection, good food, and great service hit the Black Bear.

You won't be disappointed.

So much good food for your money. Great service and a cool mountain ski lodge vibe in this restaurant. Great coffee and personal coconut cream pies in your own bowl.

The food at Black Bear Diner is always great when you’re in the mood for some filling breakfast meals! The waiters and waitresses are very kind. We also got their orange juice which was about $5.90 and it’s very fresh! Only thing about it is that it was warm so we added a bit of ice in it to cool it down a bit because warm orange juice was rather strange! But great breakfast food! Haven’t gone for lunch or their dinner menu yet so can’t say much about that!

We never thought we would be sittng down next to a bear for a great breakfast! The Volcano is a bomb of a big, delicious breakfast meal. 5 Thumbs Up again for great customer service and great food.

Amazing fast and friendly service for our family. Huge portions and always delicious with a morning Mimosa! 5 Thumbs Up!

*** And now a NEWER Review, January 2023:
We enjoyed another very affordable great meal, and completely within the long tradition of Black Bear Diner's high level of hospitality and quality. Owners Bruce Dean and Bob Manley should be proud of this Westside family restaurant always serving up exceptional customer service. ***

AMAZING THANKSGIVING DAY MEALS - 5 Stars
I couldn't wait to do this review. Family of 3 did our 1st time ever Turkey and prime rib Thanksgiving meals at the local Black Bear Diner on Garden of the Gods Rd. I can only say we were blown away by the quality and quantity of all the food, as well as the exceptional customer service. What a treat and enough to take home for sandwiches as well. The prime rib cut was cooked perfectly and about an inch or more thick! OMG, our Go To place from now on for Turkey Day meals. The turkey was moist, thick, and never a knife needed. We used to do Boston Market - never again. Black Bear is the Best - and you can get your meals to go if you wish. So here it is:

Noon to close:
Prime Rib Dinner- Choice of soup or salad,
stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, Italian green beans, corn bread muffin
and a mini dessert $14.99
Or:
Traditional Turkey Dinner- Choice of soup or
salad, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, Italian green beans, corn bread
muffin and a mini dessert $12.99

Another visit on August 29, 2021 and a great delicious huge breakfast with exceptional service from Staff. Compliments to the cooks as well. A fairly long wait after we ordered because they and everyone else are short staffed. 5 Thumbs Up!

Great place for American standards and more.

We usually come in for breakfast, but have lunch and dinner entrees as well.

Everything has been good to exceptional. We're a fan of their biscuits. They're gigantic, and they have whipped butter and blackberry jelly to complement them.

If you like breakfast, come often and make your way through the menu. You'll like find some new favorites at Black Bear.

We found this cool place with a big statue of a bear out front. We decided we had to try it. It had good reviews. We ate breakfast there and ended up going back the next day. The staff is so nice. Very friendly atmosphere. They are not stingy with the food. You get a very good portion for your money compared to the other places we have eaten at. Trust me we have been eating a lot since we just moved here from NY. The potatoes are delicious with diced onions and peppers. Everything tasted very fresh. The coffee was good. Their menu was like a newspaper with many interesting facts and I learned that they have about 60 -100 restaurants around the country. (I didn't count all the locations) I'm glad to know that we will have this great diner to eat near us. I wasn't too fond of their pancakes; I think its because they use cream to make their batter. BUT I loved the everything else. I highly recommend this place. ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE HUNGRY. 5 stars all around!!

Our favorite location in Springs. Always cool people and great food. Portions are larger than expected at Black Bear. Leaving hungry or unsatisfied has never been an issue. Our visit last month, the manager was especially helpful with a minor billing issue.

Black Bear Diner (Colorado Springs - Garden of the Gods): A Hearty Meal with Hits and Misses

The Black Bear Diner in Colorado Springs, located near the Garden of the Gods, offers a rustic, cabin-like atmosphere that's perfect for a casual meal. The menu is extensive, with classic American comfort food options ranging from breakfast to dinner.

California Bacon Benedict: This dish was a delightful twist on the traditional Eggs Benedict. The English muffins were toasted perfectly, and the poached eggs were cooked to a soft, runny yolk. The Hollandaise sauce was rich and flavorful, complementing the salty bacon and creamy avocado. The spinach and grilled tomato added a fresh touch, while the side of fruit provided a sweet contrast. Overall, it was a satisfying and well-balanced dish.

Turkey Club: This sandwich was a bit of a letdown. While the ingredients were fresh, the triple-decker construction made it difficult to eat, and the flavors didn't quite come together. The roasted turkey was a bit dry, and the bacon and ham overpowered the other fillings. The bread was a good choice, but the overall experience was underwhelming.

Service: The service was friendly and attentive, with our server checking in regularly to refill drinks and ensure everything was to our liking.

Overall: The Black Bear Diner offers a comfortable atmosphere and hearty portions. The California Bacon Benedict was a definite highlight, but the Turkey Club left something to be desired. If you're looking for a solid breakfast or brunch option with generous servings, this is a decent choice, but there might be better options for lunch or dinner.

We arrived late in the evening (about an hour before close) and everyone was still warm, friendly, and inviting.
The food was delicious! I would highly recommend this diner to anyone looking for a fun, family friendly dining experience.

Be prepared for a TON of food! We got the “little less” option, and as you can see it was not!🤣 great atmosphere and amazing customer service. The biscuits are INSANE! Food was amazing. The vanilla iced coffee was soooo good. Better than Starbucks!!!! This is a must if you visit Colorado Springs!

Phew! Unbuckle your belt a few notches for this one. The food is wonderful. Standard diner breakfast offerings with huge portions. The biscuits are always fresh and deliciously fluffy inside and go perfectly with their white gravy. If you are a pancake fan, BBD sweet cream pancakes are second to none.
Service gets four stars because our server was fast, attentive, and accurate, just not overly friendly. It's not a deal breaker for us, just worth mentioning.
