Love finding vegan ice cream shops like this that offer unique flavors (anyone with lactose intolerance knows the angst of only being offered fruit sorbet options). Half the menu use a cashew base, the other half uses coconut base which was perfect since we had someone in the group with a nut allergy (they did let us know there was risk of cross contamination as there is not a strictly separated nut-free work space but this was fine for us). Will definitely be back!

I was craving ice cream and this was the nearest spot. I had no idea it was vegan ice cream and it was delicious. Some of the best I’ve had in town the one is they don’t let you inside and it’s too cold to be outside eating ice cream.

Got some ice cream here after a hike, WOW so good!!! You’d never know it was plant based, so creamy and delish. And I’ve tried a LOT of plant based ice creams, they are not all good. But this ice cream is wonderful!

Fun selection of non-dairy ice creams. We had the lavender and Bumpy Pumpkin. Only order the lavender if you really like strong lavender. The pumpkin has a stronger clove taste. There are original flavors such as chocolate and vanilla. Worth giving it a whirl!!

This ice cream was the best! Be sure to eat here. don't miss this We are not vegan, but like to eat vegan and vegetarian occasionally. We had ice cream and a chocolate milkshake. It was amazing! Soo good and creamy and chocolaty. Best ice cream we've had in the US in 4 weeks. You always taste the coconut milk, you have to like that.

This is the best vegan ice cream in Salt Lake. Tons of options for gluten free folks too! It’s on the pricier side, but a fun treat all the same. Be aware that it’s an ordering window only, but we had a great time walking around the Gallivan Center and watching the ice skaters after we ordered. The Budderfinger ice cream is SO good.

A walk-up vegan ice cream place that labels it’s gluten free options (yesss!!). Staff is always so nice. Their seasonal flavors are always amazing but let me tell you- their lavender flavor is the stuff dreams are made of. 10 outta 10!!!

I am a regular omnivore. I will say that the vegan food at monkey wrench was excellent! They're selection of beer was robust, their wine list was decent, and their bartender making specialty cocktails we're very good! If I did not know the food was plant-based I would have believed myself to be in any old Mexican restaurant. After dinner we went next door to their ice cream, baked goods and espresso shop. Hear again the flavors and textures would not have communicated non-dairy and vegan. I tested many of there ice creams and enjoyed each and every one. I ended up with a ginger flavored scoop. Their prices were moderate. Their service staff were friendly and responsive. I would especially recommend this restaurant to folks who have a difficult time believing a vegan menu can taste as good as this one does. Give them a try with my recommendation.

was out in a bout with the homies and first we hit up a shark place and ate poke? very nice then we thought, yk what how about we get adventurous.. came to monkey wrench because it said monkey and thought that would be fitting cause we ate at a shark place anyways, am getting distracted. SO GOOD absolutely delicious, very clean place and very happy people. very very nice! I recommend anyone who’s in the area to try it out and if you’re not in the area then be in? the area? <3

Absolutely delicious. The Lavender scoop is my favorite, not too sweet and nicely balanced with hint of coconut.
I look forward to trying more flavors.

Today was our first time here, but won’t be our last! We shared mini scoops of chocolate ash and budderfinger. There’s no way you would guess either was vegan if you didn’t know. The budderfinger was so perfect with its sweet/salty balance!

If you haven't tried this place yet, get down there asap! All Vegan ice cream and tons of great flavors. I've tried 3 of them and was thoroughly impressed by them all. Great location in downtown Salt Lake City. Very clean environment, friendly and helpful staff and they had Jazz music playing which was also a huge plus!

the flavors are so good here. you can tell a lot of time and care went into making the recipes. easily my favorite ice cream in salt lake! i especially love the budderfinger :)

this place is phenomenal! we are new to being vegan so we had to try this place. I got the mojito sorbet w/ vanilla & my husband got the lemon bar w/ blueberry cobbler! they were so good! definitely worth $5!! we will be coming back!

This is the Best vegan and gluten-free ice cream I’ve had! So happy to have found this place and they were open late-ish unlike other dessert places around. Flavors were amazing! They use coconut milk for most of their flavors which also a plus!!

Just amazing! High quality and delicious vegan ice cream. We will definitely be regulars here from now on. Our flavor combinations were banana brownie + budderfinger, and mocha mud pie + chocolate fudge brownie! So amazing and worth every penny!!

Anyone with lactose intolerance knows that having ice cream is pain vs. reward. But not anymore!!! Enter Monkeywrench. An anti-dairy establishment as read on the door. There is no dairy and a lot of gluten free options.

Let's talk about flavors. They have so many to choose from but not the ordinary. Flavors like Lemon Bar, Blueberry Cobbler (that actually has cobbler in it!) Buddafinger, Mojito Sorbet, Lavender, and so many others (see the picture) I am visiting Utah this week but have visited Monkeywrench twice already. I am sold and have been telling others. Give it a try I bet you will be writing your own review soon, trust me.

Best ice cream spot ever!!! The flavors are amazing! We tried tea and biscuits, which tasted like a London fog with cookies! Banana, lavender, lemon and blueberry; all of which tasted fantastic!

Apparently the biggest complaint about this shop was the fact that an employee didn't let a customer in after closing? Get over yourself! It was 11:30, doesn't the employee have a right to go home as well? JFC

Anyways, this ice cream shop was incredible. We were overwhelmed (in a fantastic way) at the huge offering of vegan ice cream flavors. WOAH! Luckily the employee was kind enough to keep doling out samples to my partner and I. We fell in love with the Stout Chocolate flavor and adored the house-made waffle cone we got a scoop in. Thank goodness we decided against two scoops, one was almost too much as an after-dinner treat for two people! This may require a separate day trip to fully utilize our stomach space for ice cream... Perhaps next time!

stop by here every time i come through SLC for the best vegan ice cream!! Wish their hours were more accommodating for my road-trip timing or that they sold pints in the grocery stores 🥲
